June 24, 200818 yr Currrently, it seems that RuneScape has not been evaluated by any content rating systems. If RuneScape were evaluated, what rating do you think it would receive? The thing about RuneScape is that Jagex tries to keep the game free of profanity and sexual content (hence, the censors), but there is a considerable amount of violence in the game. A large portion of RuneScape focuses on combat. The violence in RuneScape isn't very graphic compared to many other games, but there are blood and corpses scattered around various places. One notable place is the blood altar, which has what appears to be a lake of blood. (The classic Doom games were controversial because they had many similar features. Speaking of Doom, the blood altar would make a good deathmatch level.) Anyways, here is what I would personally expect RuneScape's ratings to be: ESRB (U.S.): T BBFC (UK): 12 OFLC (Australia): PG PEGI (Europe): 12+ While RuneScape isn't a "mature audiences only" game, it certainly isn't for young children. ARENAscape: Baratus [AS] max hit: 166 with Moon Battle Hammer ixfd64 [AS] max hit: 116 with (untitled spell #2)
June 24, 200818 yr It's not that bad...I mean it's not like when you kill a monster it's body falls on the ground and you see blood squirting everywhere. Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool
June 24, 200818 yr In my honest opinion, I think the ESRB rating for RuneScape, if it had one, would be E10+. The content of the game is not as extreme, in my opinion, to be T and not too soft for it to be a plain E rating. ÃÆæÃâ¦Ã ÃâüÃÆÃÂ¥ÃâÿÃâÃ
June 24, 200818 yr It's not that bad...I mean it's not like when you kill a monster it's body falls on the ground and you see blood squirting everywhere. i like what you're saying here, toast
June 24, 200818 yr Middle school is more scary than Runescape. What more do you want? Club penguin? If any, I'd like to see Runescape become for more mature players but that's not about to happen. 2480+ total
June 24, 200818 yr Probably E in American because all it has is cartoon/fantasy violence. No gore or heavy blood. ]
June 24, 200818 yr IMO It's E.... Eventually by the looks of it, it will be Ec (early childhood) *facepalm* dear god.
June 24, 200818 yr The game itself would easily get a U/PG rating in England. Players bypassing the censor is something else though.
June 24, 200818 yr I'd say "T" for North America... Mostly because I've never seen an "E" rated game with any blood in it at all, not even the odd blood splat on a dungeon floor 8-)
June 24, 200818 yr It's tempting to give it a 12, since you have to be age 13 or over to create an account and use the free chat facility. Then again, 12 is under 13 so technically it would be 15. However, I did say, "to create an account". This means that parents can create an account for their children and supervise them playing. So in the end, I'd give it a PG rating.
June 24, 200818 yr Probly E since the blood in this game doesnt look like blood(unicorn dies in that one quest the red stuff looks more like red paint). =P~
June 24, 200818 yr Add a playboy section and make it M would be ok in my book. Real game? Probally T. Other then that, then RO as in [developmentally delayed]s only Runescape player since 2005 Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum
June 24, 200818 yr In America it'd probably be E10+ or KtoA. Too much for E and too little for T. I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete. So, what is 1.111... equal to?10/9. Please don't continue.
June 24, 200818 yr I doubt it'd be rated Teen in the U.S do to the fact it's like beating dumbys that fall on the ground no blood or gore or anything. So I'd think it'd be PG since Jagex says younger can play with Parental Guidance. But due to the fact runescape is just not voilent as some of the other rated Teen games in the U.S I doubt it should be T but more of a High PG rating. June 25, 200818 yr I think it's T only because it has a chat element to the game. However, if a person is underage, they should have Quick Chat only available, like Club Penguin.
June 25, 200818 yr In America it'd probably be E10+ or KtoA. Too much for E and too little for T. KtoA? I thought that rating was discontinued in the mid-90s. I'm thinking E-10. All they need to do anyway is slap some worning about how the experience "might vary" due to free chat, and evaluate the game based on a quick-chat world, all to keep the rating down. If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.
June 25, 200818 yr I'd say "T" for North America... Mostly because I've never seen an "E" rated game with any blood in it at all, not even the odd blood splat on a dungeon floor Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Ganondorf bled and I'm sure if I check the Bottom of the Well and the Shadow Temple, I'll find blood and corpses. On Topic: I would say E for Everybody, since, in the end, every age group capable of playing (except maybe seniors) do, in fact, play. The only real bad thing in this game is everybody else, unless you're a noob, in which you are the only bad thing in this game. Currently will be using my Oni Tsurugi account to attempt to get 99 on all free skills without spending any gp, just for the sake of doing so.
June 25, 200818 yr It'd be rated T probably. It should be rated E, but you know how Jack Thompson is. He'll find some obscure thing that isn't even Jagex's fault, say the game is nothing but pr0n, and then sue them.
