Around 1999, my brother made me my first 'proper' email. I still use it today :D

 

2001 is when I got into MMORPGs. I used to play Ragnarok Online religiously :P

First memory I have of the Internet was around 1992, pre World Wide Web (I think). Anyhow my dad installed a modem on our computer and he chatted with a friend through some sort of DOS program. I only remember him doing it once, it was really slow and didn't work all that well.

 

 

 

My first Internet usage that I remember is browsing MSN's categories for anything related to Star Wars looking for a good picture of an X-Wing to print off :D . That was circa 1995.

The Star Wars Battlefront II forums before the game came out. That place is very immature but it was damn fun when I was younger. You could literally have something new to read every five minutes on that. It kinda died out after the game was released though, becoming from Off-Topic/BF2 seculation to a tech/question forum. -.-

Hotmail was the first thing I got into from my sisters introducing it to me, Hotmail was a huge though back in 97. I was like 5-6 though, so I didn't get it all. Slowly came the word processing programs, which lead to research which lead to google which lead to sites like newgrounds, miniclip, then MMORPGS.

I remember when it was all about AOL and dial-up. I still remember my first chat room on AOL, the Pudding Pool. 'Twas fun playing in pudding ROFL

Meh, got my first e-mail when I was in first grade...It was Yahoo! I still remember when people actually used Yahoo! Messenger...And the inbox was tiny...Anyway, I switched to Gmail when it came out (I was the first in my school \ ) and use that one to this day. However, I still check the Yahoo! once in a while, and apparently they're copying Gmail now with integrating chat into the inbox. I still have a few friends that use Yahoo! though.

 

I used Netscape for a while back then, I'm not really sure what happened to it.

 

I didn't really get into gaming until a few years ago, so I'm not really sure what I did. I remember that I played mainly sports games, so I think I stuck around the EA Sports website and played the free games there, as well as being a member on those forums. I also played the games on the SI Kids website...And...The Nick Jr. Website.

 

This was in the late 90s, not too long ago. Can't really remember what I did before I moved here...I remember being addicted to computers though.

What got me started on the internet was hearing my sister talking about ebaumsworld at around age 9-10, then finding some "mature content", then somehow I found runescape, then tip.it, and now here I am. \

I remember back in 96/97 sometime... My friend back then, showed me a place to get free music (napster lol) and we also tried to figure out what this new "internet connection" was (adsl/broadband). I still remember saying... "there's something that you don't need to dial-up and it's much faster...", but i had no idea at the time what it was.

 

Can't remember much more, this was at 8-9 years of age.

 

 

 

But i remember one of the first games i ever played - Lemmings!!! Woohoo!

I built my first PC in like the third grade, and remember wondering why anybody would pay 200 dollars for a graphics card when most motherboards already had them :lol:

Wow, sounds like everyone got into the internet way before me. I remember my dad said we werent going to get the internet because it is going to be free on the radio in a few months (this was years ago). he must have been refering to wireless, but we made fun of him for days, saying he thought he was going to check his emails by tuning his radio.

I think my first Internet memory dates from a year or 10 ago. I was with a friend. They had two computers. They were next to the kitchen. He had internet. We didn't. Well, we were at his place. And we downloaded a demo of a game. The game was a racegame called Rollcage. And we thought it was cool that we could play free games.

My earliest memories was when I was 5 or 6. I would use websites like cheatplanet.com to find cheats for my favorite videogames. I remember discovering walkthroughs a few years later and would have my laptop open on the couch while my brother and I played pokemon on our gameboy advances, looking at the walkthrough when we needed it.

 

 

 

When I was about 8 or 9 I discovered nick.com through the nickelodeon TV channel. I used to love the nick.com message boards. I had a bunch of friends and was a member of a Riddle club. what was unique about the nick.com boards was that when you posted a message, the message had to be approved by a mod before it got posted (after all, this site was aimed for really little kids). since the mods only checked the messages once or twice a day, I'd post on a bunch of different boards and come back the next day to see responses to mine. The moderators there weren't randomly picked players, but they were actual adults who were moderators of the site as a real job (they got paid lol). My dream was to become a moderator when I hit 18, but I never got there. Another thing that was great about nick.com was that there was a board for everything. a board for every nick.com tv show, a board for rl discussions, a board for serious issues usually used by the teenage community, boards for jokes and riddles, boards for school and wierd news, you name it, they had it.

 

 

 

The funniest thing I remember on nick.com was the fact that the boards were pretty much all-american. There were some canadians and mexicans, but almost everyone was american. One day, in a nick.com first, a girl from Ireland showed up on the boards looking for some friends. you should have seen how many kids responded because they thought it was freaking awesome to have a buddy across the atlantic. I was one of them ;) . Good times... I eventually stopped using the site as I got older. But that was how I began learning about the internet. I even found out what LOL meant there :mrgreen:

Playing flash games on miniclip and addictingames.com, did that till I found Runescape. If it wasn't flash games then it was cheats for my video games. I would always try to find cheats for pokemon, none of them ever worked.

 

Ever since I started using the internet I knew about email, but for some reason I didn't want one. In fact, I think I didn't have one until I registered for this forum. :P
