July 26, 200817 yr this topic has a lot of posts, i thought it died a few days ago. i still stick with my old post, get as many as you need. when you start refilling and dumping it out immediately just because you can, i think its time to stop.
July 27, 200817 yr As long as the number of refills isn't divided by zero, uhh I mean as long as it isn't wasted it's fine. If you choose your beliefs/lifestyle simply based on what your parents want, then you are a weak minded individual and are not even worthy of calling yourself a person.

July 27, 200817 yr Oh, and for the record, that wasn't exactly an excessive amount of refills, either.. I know, right? Some people act like they never took anything that they didn't need before. I too, am an Atheist. What he was stating is that gluttony is a deadly sin. Literally. Even if you are religious or not, if you consume calories and sugars all day then you will either get diabetes, a heart attack, or get vastly overweight and all those end to dying early. Now, you can take out the sin part, but it is still deadly. Gluttony is not good. I am not disagreeing with the fact that the OP had a right to get as many refills as he wanted, but I hope he'd either work off those extra calories or not drink more than he should. If you make a habit out of drinking 6 sodas a day, then yes you have a problem on your hands. However, doing it once in a while won't hurt. And some of us have high metabolism and don't really have to worry about weight. You know that lemonade/soda actually make you more thirsty. So, you could have gone with water, but there is a chemical put in soda to make you more thirty which actually causes you to buy more soda. That's why if you drank 30+ sodas in a day, you'd die of dehydration. Yeah and candy isn't the best appetizer either, but yet people still continue to buy it. Sometimes we don't do things because we have to - we do it because we want to, and this applies to everybody. In this case, he paid to have a good tasting drink in his mouth for a few hours. Not a necessity, but he enjoyed it or else he probably wouldn't have even paid in the first place. He got exactly what he paid for - free refills. I think that's enough justification. It's okay to enjoy yourself once in a while, but remember - only once in a while.
July 27, 200817 yr He's probably mad that you didn't tip him for using the soda machine. If they're going to say 'unlimited refills', then I'm going to refill it as many times as I feel like it. Hell, I'll go get a few empty bottles and fill them up, too! No offense to you since you already said you don't do that kind of stuff... But people like that ruin fair-use of good things like unlimited refill. It should be used as long as you're thirsty, not so you can steal free soda by filling up empty bottles you brought. The system is designed so it's more convenient for the customer. If there's a queue, a thirsty customer doesn't have to wait 5 mins just to refill soda/water, instead, they can go refill it at any time they wish themselves at no extra charge. The company obviously takes losses from this. Everyone else suffers when a few idiots start abusing the system and start arguing with the staff "It says unlimited, so why can't I fill these 30 bottles of coke? I'll sue you!"

LOL, Companies are all about PROFITS, if you think they were dumb enough to put something out there to LOSE money and help the customers, is really all a joke. Have you seen what the prices are of "tap water + syrup" before saying the company is taking losses? I am Teh_King[My dA][My Last.FM][My Twitter]
July 27, 200817 yr Lol. They don't lose any profits from making coke. If you go to countries that produce coke, 2L or so would only cost 70c CAD. Here, a 355ml of coke costs a loonie. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
July 27, 200817 yr (I didn't read the 7 pages, only the OP) I feel that as long as you're eating you're entitled to as much as you want refill-wise. However, sitting around watching their TV and taking 4 or 5 refills is rude. Just like it would be if you were visiting someone. If someone tells you "Help yourself to the fridge if you get hungry" that doesn't mean you should do your best to clean it out or be a pig because its free food. Same applies to free refills. There are no laws enforcing politeness however so the store owners can't really do much unless its an extreme situation

Lol quite true, but it happens right here in Canada too. At the grocery store I work, Pepsi and Coke are both at $1.89, but Big8 Cola (a Canadian Maritimes company) sells their bottles $0.88. I'm talking about 2L bottles here for any company. Guess which one gets the most sales lol. On topic, I'll say like a few of you have been saying. As long as you are thirsty, you can go get refills, but if you're not, you should refrain from taking advantage of the system. I say that even if I know that the fast food companies make all their profits in fries and sodas. I learned that while I was visiting a factory in my college course (That I didn't even finish :wall: ).

Potential profit - loss of drink revenue = Actual profit. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.
July 29, 200817 yr Well if they say you can have as many refills as you want... I don't understand what their problem is. I think its also illegal for them to kick you out for taking refills or getting a lot of food at a buffet, so if they do say something, sue their [wagon]. Oh please. That's just pathetic... ^dds'er in progress =D
July 29, 200817 yr If they are free refills, with no amount specified, go crazy. It's not like they can blame you for simply getting your money's worth. :P Though in England free refills are rare, but the max I'll take is 2 generally, normally because I can't handle any more. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)RIP Michaelangelopolous
July 31, 200817 yr I would say take as many as needed, as the refills are advertised as free. I generally takes me 3 refills of a beverage, but at the places I eat, the waitresses are always scouting around looking for cups to refill, so I usually end up having a full glass by the time I'm sick of the beverage. August 2, 200817 yr I've only been to a couple of establishments that have this facility in the UK. To be honest I've only usually had maybe two or three refills with whatever I was eating. Usually, unless I've had incredibly bad service or a shoddy meal I'd leave what I felt I would have paid for the drinks as a tip. Although since I've read a few stories about employers ripping off employees with the tips, it hardly seems worth the effort. "Boy, sure would be nice to have some grenades, don't you think you think?"
August 3, 200817 yr I remember when I was little refilling then throwing it down the sink in the toilet, over and over.... Doomy edit: I like sheep
August 3, 200817 yr where i used to live, there was a burger king,[i think it was] it had free refills. i sat there once for 2 hrs drinking, refilling, driking refilling.... over and over im sure the owner got pretty pissed but he didnt say anything ive also done it at a pizzahut place that had free ICECREAM =D I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come
August 7, 200817 yr don't worry, when we were coming back from band camp, we stopped at mcdonalds, my friends and I filled our 1 liter water nalgene bottles full of sprite. L0l gf mickey d's. Who cares, you probably will never know them and need them (the people who stare you down). Homeless people walk in with mugs and fill them and walk out. 2nd troll to 840+ post count.
