Lenin64
Got to thinking what I'm going to do after HS. And the conclusion I came to was that stability=boring. Going to work at Gamestop for about a year or so until I have enough money to make my way to Cumberland, Maryland. From there, I hook up with my friend, who is prepared as well. From there, we just walk from place to place, and we should eventually end up in California. From there, we buy plane tickets, and travel around the planet from then on. Whenever we run out of money, we work random jobs around whatever town we happen to be in. Most of the more expensive things we need we already have, so all we need to worry about is food/batteries/etc... I also realized three major problems. 1) Sleeping. We have a few tents we can use, but where would we set up? We're not sure about the laws on that sort of thing yet.2) The western states. We cannot walk along a long stretch of highway in the blazing sun. Either aquire other transportation, or stick to the north? We don't know yet.3) This is not going to last forever. We can keep this up for a good few years, but then what? If we're not on the East Coast when we finish, we're pretty screwed.Have you read Into the Wild? He seemed to have it all together for the most part. Y'know, until the whole Alaska thing. Command the Murderous Chalices! Drink ye harpooners! drink and swear, ye men that man the deathful whaleboat's bow- Death to Moby Dick!BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! Giordano
You do realize that stability =/= boring? What are you doing right now? Living a civilized life with limited freedom with your parents money. Granted, you SHOULD be having some fun, but imagine with total freedom and a lot more money than now. Live the life and have some luxurious freetime. Better than cake! Not directed at anybody, I cannot stand the fact of a routine-job. Seeing my father working the night-shift every other night with only a couple of hours of free time per two days, it kills me. I don't know how he does that. Then my grandfather who made bricks all day. And my great-great-grandfather who moved crossseas with hardly any money at all. It seems like a good stable, relativity wealthy generation is long overdue. It sounds cliche but its true. But don't feel too comfortable taking them off, your mouth will get sore right when you put them back on if you have them off for too long. The reason I'm doing this is because it's far, far better than having a routine job. You may have money, but you won't have the free time to enjoy it! Not that you'll actually get everything that you earn, considering ridiculous tax rates and all that. There's an Andrew Ryan/Ayn Rand quote to be used in here somewhere. Skull
To those who care: The Fall of Troy is ending as a band. :sad:To those who don't: the world goes on as normal.NO+800 D: They actually have a show about an hour away from me in April and the tickets are only $12, but my parents refuse to let me go for completely trivial reasons. It's really upsetting. Though my friend and I are covering all of the songs off of Manipulator in honor of them D:The one time they came here I hadn't even heard of them. -.- They should have had the Seattle show last since that's where they're from, that would be a sick show. I've been listening to The Dark Trail on repeat for a good half hour.Or you could fly across the country and see their last show with me  ...No? rangeor
Working and making money does not mean you get no free time. The cliched image of a man with a boring suit driving through a boring commute to work all day at a boring office job to come home to a boring life with no time for fun is completely unrealistic. The people who actually do work so much they don't have any free time is because they're working the type of job they love. Animators, musicians, architects, and many other people work around the clock because they enjoy what they do and getting paid to do it makes it worth the time. Then there are the people who have sub-par but still existent skill sets that work mediocre jobs to get by and spend their free time on hobbies they enjoy, such video games or music. You seem to enjoy traveling, so I'd suggest looking into a career regarding international relations.

I suppose I'd consider that, after my plan has finsished. (Which will keep my busy till I'm what? 20? 19?) But wouldn't that require learning a foreign language? Or multiple languages? Dunno if I could do that. Get back here so I can rub your butt.

Tim
Got a call from "the ward", they want me back. joke School called me, go an interview or rather agreement and working dates on Friday, DENIED at the local Chinese Shop. Shame I don't have money, If I had the funds for a business, I could totally take the local Chinese shop on, only it'd be more of a "Curry Cafe'". Jeffwilson99
Some of my "friends" at lunch thought it would be funny to shout that I play RuneScape out loud at lunch. There goes my reputation...What reputation? You play runescape. Students at my school like to make fun of RS players. Stereotyping them as nerds and losers and such... Pretty [developmentally delayed]ed if you ask me. Just because a game requires patience and intelligence automatically makes it a "nerd" game. Same goes for any medieval fantasy game. Well I thinks that has more to do with the fact that the nerdy ones are the ones that are likely to talk about it all the time at school etc, while the normal people keep it on the down-low... Like me for example. Hardly anyone knows I used to play, God forbid any girls.

Dax
Had a test in the morning and then spent the rest of my day playing Uncharted 2 after the PS3 bug got fixed. What was that PS3 bug all about? Today, I actually understood all of what we did in Physics. Probably the first time this has happened since the start of this year. I also watched my favourite movie of all time (American History X) again. I'm considering using it as a related text I need for an essay I have to do in three weeks. #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod

At approximately 6:00pm Central Time (3-2-10 12:00AM GMT). This is almost certain, as anyone who has hard reset the RTC by removing the battery for ten minutes has their console up and running. The problem is that Sony used an off the shelf Real Time Clock (the clock that keeps the real world time current) in the earlier units. These RTCs have a programming error which makes them think that this year is a leap year, which would make today 2-29-10. When this date gets sent to the PS3 OS, the OS says "Hey, that's not a valid date!" because Sony actually programmed their OS correctly. Unfortunately, this invalid date, because it doesn't exist (not because it's the wrong date), is causing the OS to set the date to 1/1/2000. Likely something is happening where the trophy code has a date check that says "trophies go live on xx/xx/xxxx, if the current date is before this, don't work properly". If the server you're supposed to sync trophies to doesn't exist yet (like the PS3 likely thinks), why bother trying to sync to it, just throw up an error. At least, that's what the interwebs have been saying is the likely problem. BTW, the OS is setting the date to 1/1/2000, but that's Greenwich Mean Time. US is GMT -5 to -10 or so, which is the reason your console likely says 12/31/1999." That was the explanation from a joystiq member earlier today. Star.
Uh, I wanted to go into Graphic Design but I'm pretty scared of change from my normal routine so I threw away that idea. It's why I idled so long in college, it was a familiar setting.I can't talk to people either, I freeze because I think I'm gonna make an [wagon] out of myself but I end up doing so anyway >_< Oh yeah, Dark_Aura, I've noticed you've been looking for a job for ages.
