Are you a cat or a dog person?

Featured Replies

I love dogs, I have a pitbull and they really do have a bad reputation. My pitbull wouldn't hurt a fly, if a burglar were to break into my home chances are she would roll over as if to say give me a belly rub(Good thing I own a gun). My fiance also has a Shihtsu(Sp?) and it loves her, but when it comes to Patches my pitbull shes definatly a daddys dog.

I do believe this sums up which I like quite nicely, and what they think of dogs! :twisted:

I believe I prefer cats over dogs, I havn't had a cat in years now, the one I had while growing up died at 16 years old, but I really do like them a lot.

I thought you meant actual cat and dog people. That would be awesome. But would they have thumps or paws? Meh.

I prefer dogs.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

I love nearly all pets! But I am deffinatly a cat person! Just absolutely love them to bits. They are intelligant, funny and some have very interesting personailties, well at least mine do. I have had my cats (they are twins) for a long time I am soo bonded to them, I did have a dog sadly it passed away a long time ago. Dogs don't leave you alone after awhile, especially my friends. They just dive their noses right between your arms because they want you to stroke them :lol:

What do cats actually do? Crap in a litterbox and have the run of your house, it seems to me. Give me a dog any day.

Besides, my dog saved my grandma's life by barking up a storm. A cat would probably sit on the dresser while she slowly suffocated.

Uhm, not all cats are 'crap in litterbox, back on the sofa' like. Sure, once they get older they become more boring and lazy, same with dogs.

To break up the seriousness of Off Topic at the moment, I decided to make a nice warm and fuzzy topic.

What type of person are you-

Do you like cats?

Or a man's best friend, the dog?

Myself, I'm a dog person. Can be your best mate and you can play games with them :). You can teach a dog so many tricks but with a cat all they do is sit around and do their own thing. :P

wow, that is one ugly cat. These pics are most definitely biased.

Anyways, i'm a cat person. But that's probably only because i've never owned a dog before.

I like both, honestly. My cat is so awesome, he lays around in weird positions when he sleeps, and my dogs are uber excited when I get home. They'll jump all around me, play around. So all in all, I like both animals.

kittah person, although some puppahs are alright. Depends on the breed.

Personally, I am both, as I have a cat (kitten) and a [lap-]dog in my home. By lap-dog, I mean a tiny dog that can sit on your lap, and is cute <3:

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

ojdv.jpg

I prefer both. I have 2 cats and 6 dogs, so a 1:3 ratio ::'

My cats act like dogs though, so I have never really had those cats that think their "God" and are stuck up. My kitties come when I call them by name, I taught the youngest to sit, and one of my kitties is very protective of me. Whenever I roughhouse with one of my dogs, she sits there and hisses at the dog and attacks them. Otherwise, they get along.

So, I love both ::'

My cat wakes me up every morning by licking my face. 4/6 of my dogs would protect me. My bulldog is afraid of everything and the other takes Prozac because she gets depressed and doesn't eat. She is afraid of everything as well which is strange for a Doberman.

My cat attacks my dogs when my dogs roughhouse with me because she thinks I am getting attacked.

So, cats do things as well. It's just biased to think all cats are gods, lazy, and stuck up. Heck, my golden thinks she is a Princess.

Dogs <3:<3:<3:<3:

I've 3 and I hate cats. Well it's not that i hate them I just amn't one that would buy a cat. They aren't loyal and they're never around. They only really come back to you for food.

Dogs are always there and so cute :D

Pics of my dogs are in the "post pictures of your pets" :P

To the people who have complained about allergies:

Don't lose hope just because you're allergic. You can live perfectly happily with animals despite your allergies.. in fact, I forget the exact statistic, but most people who love animals and have some sort of allergy live with pets anyway. There are many solutions such as: taking simple allergy medication once a day every day (Claritin, Zyrtec, and a few others), rubbing Allergy Relief formulas on your animal's fur once a week, getting allergy shots, or simply cleaning your house more often (leave the windows open to get a good air flow, keep your house clean, vacuum regularly, etc.). The solution that works best for you depends on the animal (how much dander they produce, how often they lick/clean themselves, and sometimes the breed) and the severity of your allergies.

Speaking of allergies, I remember hearing research that suggests people who live with a pet are less likely to develop one.

Anyway, I'm a dog person. Never had a cat, though.

Caaaatdawg, catdog, the lonley life of a little catdog :D

I like both, but I prefer dogs. When I get my own place, I will definitely be getting a dog. Whenever I get my own yard that's a reasonable size, I'll get a goat too.

Cats =]

So nice just to sit with them and stroke them for abit, cant really explain really cause ive been brought up with them.

Dogs, never seen the attraction. I hate dogs when the owner can not keep them on there lead and run up to me though.

Cats are a huge provider of laughs.

I always sleep with a glass of water on my nightstand, and one night I locked up my room and went to bed as always. I woke up in the morning to find that I was soaked, and my glass was knocked over. I couldn't understand why, and I didn't know what to think. When I opened my bedroom door, I heard the bell on my cats collar jingle, and she trotted past me. She rubbed her cheek up against my leg, and realized she was soaked too.

Turns out that when I locked up the night before, I didn't notice she had sneaked into my closet. While I was sleeping, she came out, hung out on the nightstand, and when she knocked it over, got spooked and spent the rest of the night hiding under my bed.

My little pretty kitty <3: (shut up, I think it's cute)

LOTRjokesigedition-1.png

Get back here so I can rub your butt.

Those of you that don't hunt probably prefer cats more easily. Dogs are so much help hunting. And they're so ready to be active and jump around and play. I can never get cats to do more than claw me. Although to be honest, cats are funnier, just because they do stupider things, while acting dignified.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

I've had a 2 cats, 2 dogs, a hamster, a guinea pig and a rabbit in my family. Out of these I've definately preferred the first cat, a tabby. After that the rabbit, then the guinea pig, then the hamster, then the dogs.

And a farting, barking at anything moving, afraid of water dog is really lame. :(
