IF it does Tip It is probaly worse, reading the small text can't be good for your eyes.

But either way I doubt it'd do much.

I have decwent vision, before and after....Actually I still play so before and during..

It doesn't matter what game you're playing, it's been proven that looking at a screen for too long does impair your vision. So yes, playing RS for too long would have that effect.

I don't blame runescape for my lack of seeing small letters far way. I blame having a TV 5 feet from my bed that i can't move to a different area.

My vision is fine. I usually play with sunlight coming in, not playing in the dark. Plus I'm at a good distance away from the computer where I don't need to squint or my face is on the screen.

I got my glasses in the first grade, a grand six years before I played Runescape. My optometrist tells me my eyes will steadily worsen until I'm in my thirties. And guess what? I can barely make out facial features and expressions from five feet away as it is...

If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

I do have glasses and contacts, but I don't blame Runescape for them. I believe I first got them before I started seriously playing RS. After I got them, my vision hasn't gotten that much worse either even though I spend a lot more time on the computer. By now my vision has stabilized, which is great :D.

Only thing RS may have affected is a small area at the bottom of my palm. There's a calloused area from where my hand rests when using the mouse. It doesn't bother me at all though.

A every half hour or hour while you're playing, take a few minutes to go to the nearest window and look at things far away.

i do this, it works for me.

one day i got off the computer after thrashing a 3000 word assignment in a day and everything was looking pretty blurry (i have never had eye problems before), so i thought well if my eyes are acting funny from looking at a close computer screen maybe i just need to look at faraway things. I play at night in my gf's bed while she sleeps so i just try to look around the far corners of the room every couple of minutes.

maybe even just closing your eyes and relaxing regularly would help

Its probably due to the mix of computer work and Runescape+other online activities that I have seen a recent decrease in my vision. It seems a bit blurry at times, but other than that, I usually can see perfectly well.

Yeah, I've found that as well. You see, whenever I walk to school, I am unable to make out street signs properly that I used to be able to; they're just too blurry.

Well my vision has progressively gotten worse over the past ~5 years so I'd have to say probably, yeah. I guess general computer use could be a cause.

Like someone said earlier in the topic, though, everything is bad for you these days, lol. Diet soda gives you cancer, so what's a little vision loss?

Yeah, it's been proven because of the bright pixels (like the green in the friends list) and the cyan-blue they use for private messages. If they where to tone it down they'd also be much greener too, by that I mean it would use less resources to run and display for ourselves.

Runescape cannot be blamed for vision problems.

If you do anything on the computer, you will blow your vision over time.

If runescape makes you stay on longer, thats your own fault; and even still, any computer application would do it, like Tip.it forums, WoW, or even MS Paint; but your not complaining to them.

Anything that is related with light rays can affect your vision.

Runescape: yes it does, but it's the computer you play Runescape on so it's the computer you should blame.

Don't see the discussion value though, sorry.
