I've had nights where, before I went to bed, an entire bucket of water from that day's rain was outside, frozen solid, only to find the next morning everything had melted. The Dark Lord Posted December 18, 2008 Share Posted December 18, 2008 I was out of school Tuesday and Wednesday (today). The temperature went below freezing and it sleeted on Tuesday. The roads were still a little icy today, so the school district still shut down. Now I have to go back to school tomorrow and do all of my semester finals in one day, rather than the usual week of testing. Oh well. :P Makes the class period go by faster in my opinion. Plus I have one test the first thing in the morning on Friday, and I can get checked out of school after the first period is over (with the test). Although I might stay because we're supposed to have a Christmas party in my English class and we're doing fun labs in my chemistry class. (We're making slime and maybe Christmas ornaments.) We had 30cm of snow which turned in freezing rain on the afternoon. The last 2 snowfalls didn't do much, only 15-20cm of snow each time. It's much easier to walk on the river (covered in ice, of course) than to walk on the parking lot in front of my appartment, since walking on leveled ice is much easier than walking on 6 inch of ice that's not equal everywhere, and it seems it's worse 50 km south of here :o Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But looks like we're going to have a fun storm tomorrow. Around a half an inch of ice is in the forecast. I hope it shifts slightly south though (like it might)... don't want power out that much. Especially since we only have 2 more days of school until break >.>. You don't happen to live near Kansas City do you? That sounds almost exactly like what we had. We got a 2 hour early release on Wednesday. I am hoping we don't get early release/cancelled school tomorrow. We have finals, and that would screw us over big time. They decided that on one of our finals days to release us one hour early, before any weather even arrived. This means that our 4th block finals could not take place, and now when we get back from break we have to spend 3 of our 4 blocks doing nothing, due to the fact that the final grades will have been in for those classes. We have to go to a class that we are completely done with and sit there for most of the day. The weather didn't even hit, so there was no point to all of this.
