Dragon Claws

I have concluded that Dragon Claws will not and need not to be nerfed. Why you ask?

 

Because they have a set hitting system already to prevent over-powering and 1 hit k0es on high health. Think of it this way...

 

 

 

99 str = max 25 - 36 the first swipe; max 18-18 the second swipe.

 

90 str = max 22 - 30 the first swipe; max 15-15 the second swipe.

 

85 str = max 20 - 28 the first swipe; max 13-13 the second swipe.

 

80 str = max 18 - 26 the first swipe; max 11-11 the second swipe.

 

And so on.

 

 

 

Remember that is the max. you will almost never hit that. Just like with dds ive only hit my max once out of the millions of times i used it.

 

 

 

these are all assumptions from viewing people using them.

 

 

 

In player versus player matches the person who can get you half health then dd spec you will most likely finish you off. this is the same with dragon claws. and those last two hits, one is just as a poison hitting you and the other is like a recoil ( you can still use a recoil whilst using d claws thought *ouch*)

D mace max hit no spec is 40 or 41 cant remember, and D mace is one strength bonus less then D claws Therefor D claws max hit is 40-41.

Summoned is correct, maxed str bonus (+96 no defender) with 99 str, aggressive att style, sup str pot, piety and no spec the max on a d mace is 40. I didn't add in the defender as the Claws are 2 handed thus stopping the use of that. The max hit of the Claws should be 40 as well, considering max str bonus with them is +97.

As for people saying they suck, I met a guy who said that yesterday at the duel arena... 2-specced him (he was 15 combet levels below me, but still). I also had some friends come out and let me try the claws on them and I'll just say that, unless you get unlucky, d claws >>>>>>>>> dds. Even against better armor and stats, I was winning because of the massive numbers I could hit with the claws.

I'm curious as to whether Jagex releasing Dragon Claws increases or decreases the chance they'll release a Dragon Defender.

 

 

 

It seems like it might decrease the chance because it would make claws worse than Dragon Dagger + Dragon Defender, and Defenders aren't tradeable either so I doubt a dragon defender will be tradeable.. But you never know, they could release a Dragon Defender that's only slightly better than the Rune Defender but not enough to make it overpowered.

I think that I have the formula figured out. I might not, but this is as rough an estimate that I've seen so far.

I've also noted that x isn't set in stone, so you can hit a zero on one swipe. However, the algorithm changes from there.

nope i got claws yesterday, went do duel arena and managed to hit close to 90 in a single spec...above 80 definitely...lmao it was an extremely lucky drop...i fought a TD till it was half health then teled....and when i came back i saw someone at my spot and drag claws on the floor and was like OMFG \ imagine if i didn't come back...40-50m gone

 

 

 

and yes it is definitely better than dds...not only does it have higher attack and str bonus even with dds + rune defender but when u release the spec it hits 8 times in 2 hits which is twice as fast as that of dds...i've owned this guy lvl 122 in void melee with ags every single time we dueled for around 5 times i think...and he didn't even get close to hitting me to half life cause before he could release his 2 ags specs i already released both my specs and KOed him. gf

and regarding your max, I think the hit is slightly higher than 83 do to all 3 hits not always adding to the first, also is you hit a 1 with the first hit then you only hit twice and your 4th hit is a 0, this is what I have found after playing with d claws for a few days.

Well, what I've noticed about the other *three* specials, if they hit, was that they were always within 1 point of each-other. If the highest number you hit was odd (39), then the other three would add up to that minus 1 (38). Vice-versa if it were even. However, I can't really explain that one. Yet.
