I have asked this question to myself many times. Is lying okay?My parents have lied to me(Santa Claus,Easter Bunny).

 

 

 

So, I want your opinion, do you think it's okay to lie?

There are white lies and then there are you're-going-to-burn-in-Hell lies. Obviously white lies don't have as dire consequences.

Lying is only bad when there is real harm that can be done by them. Sometimes lying can even be a good thing when you're doing it to stop someone from being hurt.

Lying is a form of self-defence, and in some circumstances is acceptable.

 

 

 

I've lied myself, pretty badly. I regret doing so, but often think to myself that it's only normal for a person to lie sometimes. :)

I personally dont like lying, i prefer to be a straighfoward honest person. I believe little white lies are occasionally ok, but only lying should be used to protect opeople when there is a serious situation at stake.

Lying is pretty fun.I lie to myself to convince my self I'm doing the right thing sometimes,so my conscience doesn't berserk on me.I lie to my teachers to get out of paying extra,or getting into the worst of trouble,I even build my D&D characters to lie effectively,usually just to get into a fight.

 

 

 

Internet however,gives me no reason to lie.

"Okay" implies morality. Whether lying is "okay" or not, simply depends on whether the judge thinks it is, or isn't. Personally, I think that lying is fine, so long as the outcome (or at least intent) justifies the lying itself.

Lying to someone to protect them is a good thing,

 

Lying to someone to make a fool of them is funny.

 

Lying to them to cause them pain / screw them over is bad but leads to funny situations.

Lying is alright I suppose, but I avoid it unless I'm dealing with someone emotionally unstable or suicidal. Other than that I HATE to lie and don't do it.
