"To all you youngsters reading this, if you are under 25 STOP PLAYING THIS GAME RIGHT NOW. Life is to short and you are only that young once. Trust me when i say this, take advantage of the girls now. Once they are 25+ and have been around a few times they arnt dumb anymore, the fun is all over."

I reached 99 woodcutting "naturally" as you put it. I had no level goals at that time, I simply was cutting yews in order to obtain money and the levels came. It was much more satisfying than grinding away at levels.

um maybe defence for me i wasnt grinding it to 99 but all my 99s i knew i was close when i was 400k-500k away it was obvious i was getting a 99.

but i think after 99 exp is gotten more inadvertently like i almost have double 99 str and double 99 hp i got from training slay/summon.

i have 2.7 m after 99 firemaking exp from adze

i have 1m extra exp in cook and agil that i didnt grind

I got to 65 fishing because I needed money and I was f2p and the trees were overrun by little bald men in green pants. Then I pushed myself a little bit for 68, but not much.

'Course, now I have better ways of making money and fishing is boring.

But my two highest skills (fishing and woodcutting, which are 71 and 66 respectively) got there because I wanted/needed money, not because i wanted to get exp.

Does using tears of guthix count? Because i have pretty much no choice but to get experience in Herby when I do tears of guthix... Heh, eventually I'd get all 99s with that... if i did it long enough... :ohnoes:

Balance may be power, but chaos is still pretty damn fun.

Haha, right now I have 92 attack/strength from just doing slayer/gwd/mini-games, so really I never tried. I'm hoping to get them without having the urge to actually "try," but I'm fairly sure I'll be driven when I hit 98 in both, lol.

while i did grind to get 99 hp, a large portion of it was just casual gaming. however since 99 i never grinded and im at 24.5m hp exp. therefore ive gained >13034431 [exp for 99] hp exp without really trying

if that counts

I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"

walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come

So I was thinking about how some players really grind away at levels to max it out. And I began to wonder if anyone ever reached level 99 in a skill.. without trying. No power leveling. Just playing the game casually. Well, maybe not casually.

I'm sure it's possible if someone started playing early enough..

This is how I play. I don't think I'll ever grind a 99. I just play the game and have fun

All 4 of my Melee 99s came from Slayer as opposed to something like Bandits or Zombie Monkeys. Can't say the same for Range/Mage since I chinned and did a lot of Alchs at Heros Guild/Spirit Mages. Although I did do some Slayer and God Wars for Range. Prayer was just buy D Bones and altar them. And for Fletching I did Yew Longs before string x.

Well, I'm sure there are many who did, except for some skills:

1.Firemaking (seriously, who would get 99 on that without trying?).

2.Crafting (as the highest level requirement is 90, I doubt someone actualy got to 99 without trying to, althought it is possible).

Well, I'm too tired to right down a whole list, you get the point.

I have not grinded at all. What I do depends on my mood.

I planned about getting 40 farming to do the pirate quests and get an anchor. However, I just happened to get the levels from Tears of Guthix :P This is what usually happens to me :P

"OMG how you get that pray cape?

"Me? I got it...naturally..."

I can see someone getting 99 slayer like this. I got the slayer level I have now "naturally".
