I was tempted to try the code but I didn't want to get banned. :lol:

 

 

 

I think the code only crashed the game if it was type in chat. I entered the code on the login screen (in the username field) and nothing happened.

okay good another bug abuse is over. but now it's time for the serious part. what should jagex do. this affected many people today. i think mass bannigs could be done on people who did it over 5 times, because someone may have been curious and tried it once doing no harm. but even once deserves a temp ban at least a week i would say. And jagex will find the person(s) who abused this, because they probobly made alot of money in 5 minites of "work".

 

 

 

copy and paste this is you think the code creater should be placed in a tank with chimchompas and all runescapers should be allowed to watch the show 8-)

they do... i remember one instance of a server rollback, though it was a year or more ago

Even though the scenarios are different, they'll probably do the same thing they did with Penguins.

 

 

 

My guess:

 

Used in PvP/BH/Dangerous FFA: Bans

 

Used more than 10-15 times in a safe area: Temporary Ban

 

Used once-twice in Safe Area: Warning/Mute/lesser punishment

Hehe, wow, that was quite an action packed day.

 

My thoughts are they won't ban everyone that tried it. Here is how I think they should ban people:

 

Did it once or twice in a safe area - Call it an accident and forget about it

 

Did it 5+ times in a safe area - Warning, maybe a temporary ban.

 

Did it 15+ times in a safe area, or once in a dangerous area - 10 day ban at least

 

Used it to cause others to lose large amounts of money or make yourself profit large amounts - Permanent ban

I think it was just introduced with the new update. I myself have done µ before without anything happening.

Does this glitch work on all versions of the RuneScape client? For example, will I be immune to the glitch if I use Firefox?

 

 

 

As far as i know its a glitch with Java, so whatever you run runescape though you'l get it.

It would seem that while the alt codes have always been there, the fact that they crash others was new with the updates.

It's technically taking advantage of a bug, so =bug abuse. :o

 

 

 

 

 

It's very much bug abuse. They're slapping IP bans left and right for the people who even tried the code, which is sad because even if you were just crashing your friends, your still mega abusing.
