What movie(s) did you last see?

Wanted: Was alright. The bullet and car things were unrealistic, but cool. NIN in the soundtrack and Morgan Freeman raises its goodness.

Seven Pounds: Didn't pay much attention. A group of friends and I started watching it and we got half way and stopped. I don't know why, but on the second time with girlfriend, I didn't care.

The Usual Suspects: I liked it quite a bit. Kevin Spacey is amazing. So is Giancarlo Esposito, although to a lesser extent.

The Queen: Didn't think much of it. I think it's because I don't care about Princess Diana in the slightest.

The Iron Giant: Everything was predictable, as all kids movies are, but it was still enjoyable.

Cars 2: I think I now have a new least favourite Pixar film. Definitely just a stretched out Mater short.

Before Sunrise: Was ok, I guess. Just a cute love story.

Before Sunset: Pretty much the same as the first, probably worse though. 70 minutes is too short for a film.

Just re-watched Law Abiding Citizen. Damn good movie.

None of those things are true. Here's why

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qG9-BF3t4WI

ANYWAYS

The blob 3/5

Really campy feel, Steve couldn't possibly be younger looking at all, characters were pretty bland, everyone but Steve was developed enough to care. Otherwise, the blob looked alright, Ending was just as bad as the Shining in terms of abrupt and how they did it. Really isn't worth a re-watch, theater scene was pretty cool though.

Catfish: Supposedly a true story about a man who starts an internet relationship with a woman, however not everything is as it seems. I'm not convinced it's all true, but it's a really good film/documentary and it kept me hooked throughout. The ending was sort of sad too once you found out what was going on. 8/10

P.S Don't watch the trailer before you watch the film, it's nothing like how the trailer depicts it :P

Dawn of the Dead (2005): I love me some zombies, but the amount of zombie movies I've seen renders this nothing amazing. Guy from gun shop was cool.

A Fistful of Fingers: Was pretty amazing, had some funny moments. Edgar Wright is amazing.

Catfish: (Watched due to having heard of it once before and 'cause BloodAngel up there watched it) Was pretty good. Now my second favourite movie including Facebook as a major plot point!

A History of Violence: Nothing special. Viggo Mortensen needs beard.

Eddie Murphy Delirious: Nowhere near as good as Raw, but still pretty ok.

Clerks: Still not sure if I liked it or not. Leaning towards no, really.

The Grey.

My friends and I went to the premier last night (12:01am). Just an intense movie. I can't say much more other than it was overall a great production. It actually ended how it was supposed to end, which was frustrating and sad at first, but understandable later; made the movie all the better. Definitely recommend it.

The Great Escape 4/5

Really well paced movie, being 3 hours long always turns me away, but this one really kept me in since the beginning (unlike Deer Hunter), Characters were really well done and I enjoyed everybody, especially Steve McQueen's character, motorcycles screens were neat too, but not as good as other people made them out to be.

Nobody saw anything yesterday? Damn.. don't want to post again..

To Kill a Mockingbird 3.5/5

Pretty alright, Didn't mind the b/w and as I recall it was pretty similar to the source material even though I don't much care (Kubrick) Otherwise, it just lacked in really capurting me into the setting and story they had going on, the kid actors weren't too good either, they could of been better. anyway, I couldn't help but quote a YouTube poop that someone did of it.

Melancholia 2.5/5

Not a impressive film to start off with Lars von Trier, Only really quality part of this film were the cosmos scenes, from the beginning of the movie and the end, were the only really impressive parts of the film. The whole middle however, leaves me with confusion and disappointment, a really lame melodrama, that really didn't make a whole lot of sense, and made me feel like Dunst was reprising her role from Virgin Suicides. Overall, I will probably watch another one of his films and maybe it'll be a bit better.

I've been eyeing that movie, good to hear a positive review.

Been trying to watch all the movies nominated for an Oscar for best picture, I got five films left.

The only other one I've seen so far is Antichrist, and while it was slow for the first 2/3 and then picked up, I think Melancholia was pretty much like you described. I wasn't impressed, but it wasn't bad to watch once. Same with Antichrist.

I finally saw Pulp Fiction last week lol. And just now I watched Inkheart. I tried to read the book several years ago and didn't get through it. The movie was alright. A little weird but entertaining :P

Warrior - 8.5/10 - Holy crap, awesome movie, i've never really been in to mma, but this movie was just awesome. The story line was great. People who watch UFC and stuff like that told me the fight scenes were pretty crappy but I think the movie was more based on the story anyways.

The Shawshank Redemption - 8.5/10 - Great movie, watched it when I was half asleep though, so might watch it again to get more out of it.

Monsters, Inc.: Re-watch, still amazing, still the best.

Clerks II: Awesome. I liked it a lot more than the first. I think it was the black and white that turned me off the first.

Office Space: Loved every single character. Awesome film.

Rogue: Seen much better Aussie films.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory: The tunnel is still terrifying. I much prefer the book to this version (Gene Wilder, never seen the Depp version).

Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz: Watched them both in one sitting, both amazing. Much better now that I've seen a lot more films/TV and recognise every single character.

The Hangover II: Terrible. Exactly the same as the first.

Horrible Bosses: Pretty damn awesome. Kevin Spacey, Charlie Day and Jason Bateman are the best.

The Man Who Would be King 4/5

Suggested from a film called Cinemania, one of the peoples favorite films from seeing over 1000+, so I had to see it, and it was pretty well done. I liked both Sean Connery and Michael Caine both together seemed like a such a well fit, love how the story went too, completely new story to me and it kept me hooked from the very beginning. Really great shots of at least a thousand people walking down a river bank was just beautiful. Surprised this film isn't more well received.

Everything is Illuminated: Enjoyable, even if I couldn't understand the Russian sections.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno: One of the better bad movies I've seen.

Capote: Was ok. One of my least favourite Phillip Seymour Hoffman roles.

Chronicle: Actually saw it in cinema. I thought it was pretty damn awesome. The best 'found footage' style film I've seen.

Seven Samurai: Way too long, and overhyped, but still awesome.

Maybe that's why I liked it more, I know there's a lot of times where they don't subtitle things as I recall and I just understood everything anyways. That was nice.

The Naked Gun 1, 2 and 3: Got worse as they went along, but they were all amazing.

My Year Without Sex: Incredibly average. Didn't think much of it at all. Yay Australian films!

Look Both Ways: From the same director as above, watched them in the wrong order, but they were both about the same in how good they were.

The Combination: Reminded me of American History X, which was a good thing, for the third film in a row, yay Australia!

Gran Torino: Re-watch. Stilll an amazing film. Clint Eastwood is the best.

The Day After Tomorrow: Swore I'd watch whatever random movie I landed on. Not my type of movie, as I knew, so I didn't like it terribly much, but Jake Gyllenhaal is awesome.

I just watched Immortals. I didn't really like it. I felt like the character development was really poor and I never really related to the characters or cared about them. Also.. I don't know why but the movie felt very fake. I mean you watch movies like 300, Troy, and even The Lightning Thief and they look like they're legitimate movies set in that era or movies with gods. But in Immortals, it really felt like they were on a set running around in costumes - especially the gods. I guess because their costumes were so outrageous (like really weird headpieces) and they were all TOO shiny/perfect. And in general I didn't like the movie's visualization of Greek mythology.

Moneyball 3.5/5

It was nothing too amazing, an underdog story where they kind of succeed. Great. so many Oscars for this? LOL NO.

The Secret World of Arrietty 3/5

One of the better Ghibli films I've seen in a while. It was nice to see all the little things interact with them and actually become trouble for them. Otherwise, I really think it was pretty, but in all honesty anything can be pretty if you just draw it.. that's the lame part of animation for me.

Dear Zachary 4/5

Holy balls, what an angering and depressing film. I went in thinking, oh this doesn't seem too bad, I WAS DEAD WRONG. if this story doesn't capture you in some way I think you're not living life correctly. It was really just hauntingly beautiful.

The thing that I had to remember was we were just hearing one side of the story, and though it doesn't really seem like the other side is going to have anything on it, you never know.
