Stop with the flawed analogies already. :?

Every analogy you're confronted with is for some reason flawed.

All charitable organizations have missions. Donations to an organization are used to support the mission. Suomi's "mission" was to reach five billion experience. All contributions to Suomi were given to help him on the journey, and not for the five billionth experience point itself. Each donation was used for its intended purpose.

 

Charitable organizations go out of business often. That doesn't mean that every donation made to that organization wasn't used to support its mission. People who donate to a charity that later goes out of business shouldn't feel as though they were ripped off, and really shouldn't complain about it, unless their donations were used for purposes other than intended.

Fair play to him. Burnout should not be ignored and if anything a break will do him some good.

 

Actually highly amused by the anger generated over donations. Not so much by those who donated, Suomi was a figurehead of sorts and I'm sure you were very excited about him attaining his goal... more over my own naivity that these high profile players are not in fact amazing with money management and do need the funding and backing from others; kind of burst the bubble of amazement I had :lol:

bored/burnout are sort of similar if not the same thing.

 

And yea I know the feeling of not enjoying scape anymore ....Basically I've cycled from n0life stages and mostly quit stages since I started. The new skills coming may change things up usually when theirs a new skill you learn who plays the most ect.

 

If Suomi doesn't come back at all I predict the person to get it first will be a player we haven't heard of yet or thats not high on the highscores yet. Jagex is really changing the game with increased micro transactions and eoc so I think they are aiming for a new type of player. Then again the new type of player may not be playing or have the patience to grind out skills. And all 200ms is as grindy as you can get in a game mostly.

 

Oh yea and the reason that the high level forums have such a different reaction is because we get a quitting thread or 2 a week and most of the time its attention seeking.

Yep. 4,75b xp is not even close to 5b xp. Dame, why have we been so stupid?

He didn't say he wasn't close, he said that even if Suomi were to finish the last stretch, it's still an immense amount of effort. Not as easy as many of us think it is.

124 hours is easily possible. Suomi was doing 110 hours a week constantly back when he was training Agility. People have done 150h+ before by the way.

The main reason for the "huge" decrease is that the tracker is from 8 days if you check the date ;P (14/10/2012)
