200M in all Skills

Why is ranging the most common stat to get to 100m on f2p? I'd think it would be cooking, smithing, or firemaking...

cooking and fm are boring, range i think would be fun to get 200m in and it benefits hp as well.

Well, it should be at least proportional to p2p since there aren't any fantastic methods for range in f2p, and there are relatively few 200m range players compared to cooking and firemaking. Smithing should be relatively fast smithing adamant platebodies in p2p - as fast as members, actually, and fairly good exp when compared to cooking and firemaking. Unless I'm missing a powerranging method available in f2p, it seems very odd that it's the most 200m'ed in f2p when much faster skills are available.

people enjoy it i guess? i dont think f2p players have the same efficiency need that p2p players have...

Who the hell smiths adamant platebodys to 200m? K, i'll answer it myself, nobody(and the only reason adamant platebodys are a viable method of training smithing is that not everyone is going for 200m).

Actually ranged has comparable dps to melee when vsing low def monsters. Still doesn't explain why they prefer range though :\

I guess they do it just cuz they want to lol. F2p atmosphere is more casual, basically.

I would really want to see someone get 200m rc in f2p :D that would be like the BIGGEST achievement ever.

I think 'Water Is Nat', or now known as 'Water' got 200mil Smithing off addy platebodies =P Probably a good chance too since he used to get around 4mil smithing xp a day when he did train smithing.

Slight update

Suomi has reached 1,7B xp

Paperbag is 4M away from his 7th skill at 200M (herb) and also 4M behind Elias for rank 10. Both are gonna pass Erw J and Lan shortly.

Also remember, there used to be a time when addy bars were 2k each, and for a year or so after jagex increased the high alch price of addy plates, it was literally free smithing xp after lvl 88. I remember distinctly trying to get 88 smith back then, only to realize that by the time I got there, addy bars were 3k. :wall:

bonecrusher is p2p and scroll of efficiency is f2p

Or you could simply correct the erroneous information immediately, with your knowledge, instead of waiting a page for someone else to post about it and then sticking that in. If Rune2h ~= Adamant Platebodies in experience, then there was little wrong with my original post except that cash technicality (while I was talking about exp rates). I respect your knowledge, but I cannot do so when someone else steps in while you're off gloating, especially when I said I was unsure and wanted to know if there were alternate training methods I'm unaware of. Sorry I'm not one of the few dozen maxed f2p.

Gloating? I just don't want false information thrown around as fact. I think it's pretty much accepted nowadays to have knowledge of efficiency and no need to correct a statement(unless you learn it yourself, you are never going to learn), furthermore as knowledge of this kind(grimy's spreadsheets) are so easy to look up for reference. Your statement was not just false because it was not to most efficient method, but also because considering f2p, it's MUCH harder to make money for a 200m skill- you have a 3rd of the ge slots and around 10% of the good items to be flipped, thus the moneymaking part would just be endless. Just for reference, smithing rune 2h's/platelegs is also the best p2p smithing method.

I support the goal of avoiding putting false information up. However, your first response had no mention of alternative training methods, and since smithing methods have changed I'd really liked to have seen you post it immediately. If you want people to learn it on their own, just say something like "addy? try rune" and then we can go and research it. If someone comes back with "o no rune is way too expensive" then pull out that line :)

I am not 99 smithing yet, so I haven't looked at all at training options past 99. Also (and correct me on this one if I'm wrong too) the prices of runite bars have dropped in the past couple of years, certainly in the last 6 months, so it was not always cheaper than addy plates.

Either way, my original question was why ranged was such a popular 200m in f2p, and I guess it's just due to the random inclinations of 3 players. Melee would be faster big bones, and ranged pales in training rates to fm, cook, smith.

Paperbag reached 200m experience in herblore

I'm really interested to know what will be his next skill...

That makes 7 skills at 200M for him, tying him with Jdelacroix at second place for most skills at 200M, Drumgun being the first still with 8 skills.

Depends what you mean by best, rune platebodies are (albeit barely) faster xp/hr, despite costing more.

Or dragon platebodies, dragonfire shields, spirit shields and... Yeah, lets be smart about this, not stupid(money doesn't grow on trees, particularly in f2p).

And deleted his entire friendlist.

Concerning ranging in f2p, you're automatically assuming a rune scimmy will be faster than a maple bow at 99 Str/Range. Just because melee is overpowered in p2p, doesn't mean it's the same in f2p. It may very well be possible that ranging is faster Xp/hr in f2p.
