October 12, 200916 yr Active Posts: 4,644 (4.5 per day) Well, more then I expected, probaly from Blogscape in 2007.. Doomy edit: I like sheep
October 12, 200916 yr I have a medium post count and am not active really in Off Topic. I think at first glance they show you the dedication of people, but once you hang round a bit more you really see how it is. Shouldn't be taken seriously.
October 12, 200916 yr They're definitley interesting to look at, and do count for something - but here in General Discussion I pay little attention to them as there is a relatively small user group. 2420 Active Posts, 3.22 per day.
October 12, 200916 yr I judge a poster based on their grammar and ability to convey their ideas rather than their post count. Unless of course they have under 20 posts, then it's kind of hard not to. "He could climb to it, if he climbed alone, and once there he could suck on the pap of life, gulp down the incomparable milk of wonder."
October 12, 200916 yr In your profile it tells you ALL of your active posts. Weird... my profile shows almost 3,000 less posts than my actual. Lol.They are not active anymore, you were here for so [bleep]ing long you have posts that no one will ever read again. That makes sense, haha.

I think that happened to me too for some reason, im not even a long member.Nope that's +700 odd from forum games. ErruhhhI think post counts prove how cool you are. I dont need a siggy no moar.
October 12, 200916 yr I'm missing almost 1,000 posts on my profile. That's like a 1/3 of my total, ha. I never noticed that before, weird.
October 12, 200916 yr Since I've been here for a while I know who the main posters are and know people quite well so post count doesn't matter. But when I first came here I generally took more notice of posters with high post counts. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
October 12, 200916 yr I know it's not really good but I do notice post counts a lot. You see, my forum experiences have all been people who had a thread where they would constantly chat and spam, I used to spend hours running around their and the games trying to get my post count up by another 100 in the evening. I have 13,700 posts there and an average of 8.7 posts a day despite the fact I was banned for a full year and couldn't post all that time  So I'm still kind of stuck looking at post count since it's been hardwired into me for 3 years. I try not to judge using it though, I mainly use it as a way of telling how active someone is. I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. I am an [Ex-Moderator].
October 12, 200916 yr I'm more of a lurker, in general. I look at post count, but I don't really take anything into consideration because of it. Like Nadril, I simply like little statistics. I've had my phases of posting a lot here, though. Steam | Soup | Last.fm

October 12, 200916 yr I'm on here pretty much everyday but I never post. If someone has a high post count you have generally seen them post more then once so you have already formed an opinion of them and are more likely to like/dislike them. Anyhow, the order I go in looking at ones name is post count then joining date. Thanks SkyFleet for the awsome siggy!
October 12, 200916 yr To be honest, I don't really care about post count. I just post, and eventually my post count rises. However, sometimes when I make a post, the post count does not go up. October 12, 200916 yr I would say "quality over quanitity" but what happens if you have neither? :( Cool.
October 12, 200916 yr Post count is overrated. Often, I read topics that are so appalling that they automatically make me look at the poster's post count, and as often as not the person in question has 500+ posts at the very least. It's not just the newly joined members who produce trash. I'll say more, I'm a bit weary of the "post cannons". Some of them can be quite stuck-up, though, as far as I can tell, that seems to be rather rare on tip.it. Post count is a good indicator of the involvement of the person in the forum community though. Then again, not always true, e.g. I have over 1k posts here and I've hardly been around this past year. Whenever I join a forum myself, I try to be pretty active though, in order to get rid of the stigma you always get when you're newish. Luckily, my ready wit and intelligent posts quickly dispel all misgivings people might have. (And because sarcasm doesn't transfer over the Internet: I'm KIDDING. Sort of.)
October 12, 200916 yr I've hardly been around this past year. You should do something about that. Cool.
October 12, 200916 yr It doesn't concern me. It's not necessarily a proxy for maturity, nor is a low post count indicative of immaturity.
October 12, 200916 yr I actually have no idea what mine is - posting to see what it is ;) Generally though, I don't make any assumptions based on post count.
October 12, 200916 yr I do not look at the post count that much, generally only if they use off-site links. I lurk alot myself, and i do not post that much. Generally to "judge" someones posts, i prefer to look at the quality.
October 12, 200916 yr I admit I kind of like my postcount, it's cool to have high numbers and an awesome-sounding rank on my profile. It would be funny to get an option to hide your postcount (I believe there's such a feature on vBulletin? Don't remember.) and have all the people with like 5k+ postcounts go around for a while, see what happens.
October 12, 200916 yr I like using it for statistical reasons, and I like seeing how many posts I've made altogether.
October 12, 200916 yr They help to see how active you are (in a way), but aren't really that important. I look at usernames/signatures/avatars to see if it is a user I know more often than not before reading a post. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)RIP Michaelangelopolous
October 12, 200916 yr It is nice to reach certain milestones, but overall I don't think post count is that important.
October 12, 200916 yr I'd say I look at post count as an indication of activity and maturity, but it certainly isn't the be all and end all of judgement. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
