Is this one of the first updates which negatively affects p2p more than f2p?

They took away our hiscores so buying xp? lol

Most of the items are p2p so.... meh.

I don't really think it affects us all that much. If an f2per were to buy spins, a good percentage of the spins would land on member items. Also only small lamps give xp. It'd be better for the person to just buy membership and then buy spins. And if they did that they'd have a higher xp/h anyway.

 

What I do like are the dungeoneering improvements and the rc minigamething. :D

I never really cared that much about the wheel since most of the good rewards are P2P only (the last two I remember getting were a small xp lamp and 5 silver ores). The real problem with being able to buy spins is that, for better or worse, they've now officially entered into the world of microtransactions. I just hope RuneScape doesn't become one of those "free to play, pay to win" type of games where anyone who isn't buying upgrades has absolutely no hope of ever succeeding.

Agreed. It's about time they updated RC, and I'm really glad they're making at least part of it F2P. :thumbsup: Now all they need to do is fix the horrible xp rates for solo DG and we'll be all set.

I've been a member for many years, and the squeal update seemed to be the final straw.

When the update came out, on an impulse buy I wasted around $50 in spins. As soon as I finished the spins I literally did a "What the [bleep] did I just do?!"

 

Simply for that reason, I've completely left my account (Got a friend to do a keysmash copy paste so the password can't be guessed, as well as do the same thing for my recovery questions) and started a new F2P account. I have no plans of paying another cent to Jagex, simply because through gullibility I've paid enough. I must say though that it's quite annoying to see at least one members ad whenever I log on.

 

I'm glad that F2P hasn't changed much, simply because I don't have to pay for it, I won't be surprised by a horrible update, (Since F2P rarely gets them) and it brings back nostalgia of when I first started playing years ago.

 

(Also, if you think you know who this is, feel free to PM me in game, but I would like to try and stay as anonymous as possible. Somewhat of a fresh start without past regrets you could say.)

I don't play the game seriously or consistently enough to pay a fee for it. I like the game the way it is now. Even if they never update F2P again, I won't carethat's how I came into this prospect of being pure F2P: expect nothing, demand nothing, but appreciate every new thing that unexpectedly comes your way. I was fine before Cook-X. I was fine before Resting. I was fine before the Home Tele and subsequently the lodestones. But I am grateful that they were all implemented. Furthermore, I've been P2P before on other accountsthere isn't one thing I like about it. That's just how I am. I like having less things to do and less ways to do them, especially if it's free. That means I can be a lot more flexible with how I choose to play the game.

I am also strongly in disagreement with the new squeal update. Being able to pay real money to gain such an advantage goes against JaGex morals (although I see they have gotten around this by "editing" their policy). I can see this becoming out of hand in the near future where rich kids will dominate runescape.

So, just like Water, ForsakenMage, Rare Pain and a few others, I've decided to take the step from being 100% f2p to a member! It's been ~3 years I've stayed in f2p, gotten a variety of things (all stats 70+, 99 dg + cook). I've also met many many friends in the f2p worlds as well as being one of the leaders of a dungeoneering clan. I have to say it's sad to abandon all my friends, but leaving things behind to move on is only part of the road to success. I'll miss everyone that I've met in f2p worlds, hope y'all have a good time =)

Right now moneymakers are.... not as good as they have been.

So.. gold amulets/necklaces are 'consistently decent' 60k/hr material

Cow hides are probably ok money, no idea on the rate there. 100k/hr would be my guess depending on the killer bot count(you want high). Experiment with making hard leathers.

Flour-pizza/pastry is 120kish

clay mining ~110k

water talis are still dumb expensive so 50/50 gop is 200k

Could try my spreadsheet of skill related money makers found here. Or my RC spreadsheet found here.

They're both not really 100% complete, but they give a decent idea on the general trends. The RC one won't be much use for making money, except the GOP section at the bottom.

What's the best monster to train on at 108 combat (86 att, 90 str, 85 def, 89 hp)? I'm training on cockroach soldiers atm and getting ~30k exp/hr and was wondering if there's anything better.
