Yeah, that's in the latest news post by Jagex. I think this is an incredible development. I could never have imagined Jagex giving F2P this kind of update 4 years ago.

Heh, so much for the previous post found on the official-forums stating due to 'technical difficulties' it wouldn't be possible to remove these. ;) (And in some ways the supposed F2P isn't a demo claim!). Still, these aren't too much of a nuisance overall I've found - that could be due to my current low levels though, later on I suppose with the frequency of unopenable doors being lesser I can imagine it may have more impact.

I wanted to know how they failed so hard when allowing F2Pers to gain xp in members skills, or double and triple penalizing players for being F2P - Not allowing them to do bonus rooms because they're for members only, having members rooms that are 100+ requirement when we can't make potions to boost ourselves, and chopping the XP we receive in half at the end.

 

Their biggest mistake might have been telling us what they've done.

Mod Emilee posted on the RSOF that they were there due to technical difficulties, but doubtless jagex are trying to cover up the fact that they are trying to tempt FTP for joining.

Out of the last 63 floors I've done(I think level 31 to 46), 5 members skills doors, 1 member only puzzle, 1 100+ skill door and 7 non-member skills I didn't have the levels for.

So 7/63 or 11% floors I was punished for not having high enough skills. Really?

And then 7/63 or 11% floors I was punished for being non-members.

And considering member only things only appear on the high level floors to start out with, you are losing even more exp proportional.

And not getting into those bonus rooms can nearly half your exp.

And all this is after I already get half exp for being a 90+ non-member.

oh ya, forget to say, yeaterday i reset my progess, so today when i fight Stomp, i try to drop items in front of lodestones, but it will still be blocked.

in the Q&A, they say clearly that the only way is to take damage to prevent the path been blocked.

 

i hope next batch will contain more updates for f2p, and tier 6 as boss drop.

surprise me of i didnt see any reply from jagex about tier 6 boss drop, no one ask?

As far as I'm concerned, what we have is what we get. You really think Jagex would expand F2P dungeoneering?

WHEN f2p doesn't get any more levels, and 35 prestige is the max, do you think Jagex will wise up to the fact that its super-nixed experience?

I hope we get more levels. I hope we get full experience back. But it seems unlikely.

I hope we get more levels. I hope we get full experience back. But it seems unlikely.

 

Same here. They nerfed it for a reason; I don't think they'll retract any part of that decision, definitely not anytime soon anyway.

ya, but i say 'hope' even though i know myself that the chance is very slim.

there is a chance of more level and floor for f2p, however, even if we get it, got high chance of lots of capping.

but jagex already say, we f2p dont have access to high lvl gear, it will be hard to implement the boss.

weak boss but high lvl or strong boss but low lvl? LOL?

Ok, as I've been reading the previous few comments I'd love to share my opinion.

 

To the 90+ nerf. It is a last-resort solution. They never saw it coming and they had to imply it for logic reasons. However rebalancing the entire F2P experience is just so much effort. They will change it! Everybody (even members) find it unfair that 90 combat and up just gets a plain cut in experience. However Jagex is going to fix this right in 1 go. Not 2-3 attempts from here. Give them time to come up with a fix that will last.

 

As for the rest, well.. ofcourse F2P needs to be tempted to become P2P. That is the entire marketing system, wetter you like it or not. That is the way these things work. Having not unlocked certain rooms doesn't cut 50% of your experience, get the f out of here. You lose out an a few %..

 

As for the gear, well.. ye T5 is reasonable. Perhaps T6 from boss drops but won't see that happening myself. Members get a piece of T7 every time they enter a dungeon. That is nice.. but then again, members get a lot more. The big idea about members I guess :D

 

But then again, F2P (like in many skills) won't have much incentive to level high. The most expensive reward is 43k (tome of frost) followed by 40k's on Gravite. That comes down to.. well 2 of the most expensive items by the time you reach level 70!! Thats about where you max it at this point. Requirement level based is even lower. Ah well, so much to discuss.

 

All in all, there is plenty to go for! Just, don't expect many updates for F2P. Perhaps batch 2 gives you that, but what you got now is already huge based on F2P history. Give Jagex the time to fix the experience, a few extra rewards perhaps and a few more floors, but thats about it for F2P. Your F2P after all. (meaning little updates)

If they can hotfix it so f2p over 90 get nerfed exp, nerfing all of f2p should be even easier.

They've had a week and they haven't nerfed under 90 f2p exp yet or even admitted it's an issue.

Sorry to go off-topic, but does anyone know if Stiles in Karamja will also turn raw fish (in addition to cooked, which I know he does) into bank notes as well?

I was under the impression that this was put in to help F2P fishers, so I just assumed it was raw only...so I would assume it's both.

On the bright side, I just killed Lexicus Runewright and didn't die, that's a first.

why would you die? it is quite an easy boss, actually all boss also easy. if you know its strength, weakness and what its special attack is.

Wait till you get Pummeller, he is the hardest boss by lots, I don't die to any boss, and I always die atleast twice to the Pummeller. (the lvl 66 boss)

are you p2p or f2p, your hiscore look like f2p, but your dungeoneering lvl is 73, which is something like very hard even for p2p

 

wow, it is either Gravite weapon is bugged or the stat is like that.

many been complaining about Gravite weapon stat being lower then KB, and 2h has only crush attack, as -4 for slash

So I hear they only implemented these member doors, 100+ doors, and member puzzles because they want F2P to see what it was like to be members?

 

Ok, that just crossed the line there. Jagex, if you really think that, why don't you give us back gnomecopters then?

 

I guess Jagex's one-way mind is also the reason why Fletching isn't F2P (and therefore make Ranged/Magic equal in Dungeoneering).

ya, i agree with Sonic, jagex want ppl to subscribe, this explain about the login screen. but member also having the same login screen even though they already subscribe, which getting more and more annoying.

the only way to get staff is though low complexity or rare boss drop.

i really dont like about the cloth or ranged and mage had negative stat for other combat triangle.

 

all the boss lvl stated in the stats view is lower by 1 lvl. so the boss we fought is at the correct lvl, just jagex stated it wrong.

Well, is there a way to get 125 fractite arrows? When I'm 50 Dungeoneering I'm binding a Spinebeam longbow, but I just want to know the easiest way.

 

Also, should I use the fractite spear instead of the longsword? I heard the spear is the best weapon in Dungeoneering, but then it's two-handed and it's not the most accurate wep out there...

 

Oh and is the longbow better than the shortbow, since it got a speed & accuracy increase?

I beg to differ. It has the best stab bonus, 4th crush bonus (not far behind the warhammer) and fairly good slash bonus. IMHO it is the most accurate weapon there is. Combine the 3 styled attacks with 5 attack speed and killer str bonus ...

I like the shortbow best, unless ur fighting the skeletal horde (skinweaver) and I think spear is actually the best weapon in Dungeoneering, as it has all attack styles (Slash, Crush and Stab) and is also gives the best stats for level 5 speed weapons.

Totally F2P, just nolifing :P. (and playing with low lvls cmb wise so I get more prestige)

Hmm really? I guess I should switch to binding a fractite spear, then.

 

Still, the longsword has the best slash... I like combining it with a warhammer. :P

@ Sonic, just start a complexity 1, there already about 100 fractite arrow and then find some money to buy the rest and bind and quit

longbow is better if you need its accuracy, shortbow has speed, but accuracy is too low i think.

your CB lvl is over 90 yet you lvl up so fast? had any secret to share with us?
