The only problem would be when doing them as a group, someone on our team always get lagged out, and left us short of one people. Or when we tried to get friends together, they have some odd system crash problems.

Lagging out? I found that using a VPN makes me immune to lagging out. System crash problems though, I'm not sure how that is solvable.

 

Oh and I heard you can get frost dragons (frozen), green dragons (abandoned), and iron dragons (furnished), ALL IN F2P!!!! I dunno if it's true or not, but it sounds highly likely since a lot of people have been saying that.

 

Does protect from magic work against these dudes?

disconnect or lag out when in a group, can easily rejoin party in the spawn room and continue dungeoneering, to where your items drop at, so this is never a problems from the start.

when solo i never encounter any dragon before, but i once saw one when i do medium size dungeon. that time its dragon breath is very hurt.

however, you can partially block its damage IF you wield anti-dragon shield or protect from magic, but if not wrong, combination of both will still can hurt you, but very low.

I can verify for Green Dragons. One of my teammates got hit for a 400 and died. Anti-dragon is recommended but not necessary; not sure about protect mage, but you can bring down a Green Dragon fairly quickly with 4-5 people.

 

They drop Dragon bones (no P2P exp., haha) too! And you can bury them.

I can also vouch for green dragons. I buried its bones, and got 72 xp. Not sure if the "fix" changed that... Anyhow, it was on a medium sized map when I was duoing.

I did a medium dungeon and saw a green dragon. I didn't use a anti-drag shield and speared it to death. I was surprised it dropped dragon bones. I buried it and got 72 xp.

I can vouch for frost dragon. Got it with a 5-man team on F2P on the ice floors

It was in the first set of patches that they made dragon bones F2P (only in the dungeon).

I am P2P and I train alone and hardly socialize because I might end up talking to the above person. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD I'd prefer noobs than this (development delayed person).

I have played as both F2P and P2P. F2P is filled with newbs and P2P is filled with noobs. Newbs are people who are new to the game. They often have seemingly 'stupid' questions, but they are grateful for help. Noobs are the people who think they are better then anyone else and even if you try to help the curse you out. I would much rather have questions from players then some arrogant elitist tell me I'm stupid just because I don't have 99 strength. And when you do find a noob in F2P, the majority of the time their main argument is "I have a member main so stfu".

 

Plus, to address your last point. Yes, P2P is faster training, but why should everything be about how fast I can grind levels? Whenever I get P2P I always feel as though I HAVE to grind just because of the sheer number of people grinding. That's why I like F2P. it's a much more relaxed atmosphere which is what Runescape should be.

Got to say I most definitely agree with you Ilovecuttingyews, playing my F2P character when I do play is so much more enjoyable than my prior-P2P character - it's an entirely different mechanic in a lot of ways and I'm certainly finding I'm now playing for fun rather than levels! :)

Dung Masters is the only cc I've ever heard of. Mind you, any F2P cc will be packed with lvl 50's but in my experience, having newbs on your team helps lower the monster levels.

Yeah, that's why many pure F2Ps stay F2P because it's more challenging.

I am surprised that people still post this kind of stuff after so many years, not to mentioned that it seems the said person start here around 2004. This article should explain nicely why some F2P choose to stay F2P

A bit outdated but good read nevertheless, one of my inspiration to stay in F2P.

 

I believe cash is not an issue for most people here, my one month car gas bill probably allows me to get membership at least 2 years straight no problem. ( I could choose to take the bus, but you just have to drive sometimes to let the V6 roar). As many stated before me, its mainly for challenge purposes, not to mention you have way too many lvl 100 plus in member world back then.

 

During my time training as F2P, there were many instances where my training speed was a lot faster than regular member, I remember this one particular time.

 

Back in 2005

 

A lvl 93 member log in ice cave, full member armor, there were 3 to 4 F2P (plus me, lvl 100) already around already training with ice giants.

 

Member: Omg, so many F2p noobs.

 

Some people makes some objections, he continues on

 

Member: well, my mining is 69, I can almost mine addy, whats your mining lvl, lvl 100?

 

Me: 75

 

Member: oh, you must be member before

 

Me: no, I am pure f2p

 

Member: oh, then I could pwn you with my range, mine is 74

 

Me: mine is 80

 

Member: Yeah, I bet you take forever to get that lvl 100, it only took me 5 months to get lvl 93.

 

Me: I only been playing for three months and half with majority of skill at 80s now except for prayer, smith, crafting, mining, and rune crafting (which were all higher than his stat since I check the highscore beforehand)

 

Member: Yeah right nolifer, "and then he logged off"

Frost and Green dragons can be confirmed by me. :) Almost all monsters are FTP, if you have a 5 man team of level 126s.

 

Also, Sonic. You need to be in your chat more frequently, I'm like, always in your chat, and noone is there. :(
