If we explore your honest RC model.Basis: 1mil/hr 25k xp/hrResults: 4000hr required (166 days), and ~106 mil xp. Number of players that qualify for that as of today: 7 Conclusion: Lets face it if you got 4billion lieing around then the odds are much greater that you bent the rules or scammed the living daylight out of your fellow players, than the odds of you even remotely being worthy of title, "legitimate player". If party hats cost what they do now several years ago, this would be true. However, party hats did not cost billions, and so the actual amount of exp/time needed in the past to have earned enough to be worth several billion gold today is much lower than your figure. Instead of earning a billion gold, they earned perhaps a couple hundred million, or less, bought rares and sat on them for a while. Runecrafting used to be insane profit p/hr too... There are many ways to make more than 1m per hour once your money stack hits even 100M. a player could turn that into 4b easily in less than a day with dueling, albeit with much more risk but it's completely possible.. merchanting with that same 100m could earn you decent amounts over 1m/hr without even being logged on. Also I believe you missed a key factor in your math, the OP said cheap phats/crackers which were bought as an investment, and as hat sets were a steady 60-100m for around a year it is pretty feasibly possible to work less than a week of in game time before, and easily afford a set of torva armor today. one of the many perks of having played back then. OT: I don't read the rsof but I am liking the new spirit shield prices, are the ge guide prices correct enough now that people are actually cs'ing corp beast? I would love to start corping again. Spectrals and Arcanes seem to be selling around the GE price. I'm not sure about Elysians though. But the big kahuna of spirit shields, the Divine, is going for around 1b-1.1b. GE price for the Divine Spirit Shield is 777.1m. Another thing you might wanna note is right after free trade came out, Jagex untied items that were tied in price with each other - Sigils were untied from Spirit Shields and Hilts were untied from Godswords. That means if the final products goes up, the parts that make it up don't necessarily go up. Since all of the spirit shields went on an upwards trend since FT came out, all of the sigils are actually undervalued in GE compared to the Spirit Shields. So it'll be a while until it's worth CS'ing (assuming SOMEONE trades sigils so the price can be fixed.) Until Divine Sigil hits 1b, I wouldn't CS Corp. Honestly, when (and if) Jagex fixes Nex, I think killing Nex would be much better money. Just consider most pieces go for 1.5b+, with the Torva Platebody, Torva Legs, and Pernix Top sometimes hitting as high as 7b each (exception being the Zaryte bow going for around a measly 500m). To start with I'll probably be working with around 60-100M. Does anyone have any advice as to what might be good to start with? Santas, masks, spectral/arcane, third age pieces, something else...? I know these types of questions have been asked before, but the market has undergone some pretty big changes with the reintroduction of the wilderness and free trade. Thanks in advance :). Considering that I bought mine for 425m the day after Free Trade, and there hasn't been a "crash" yet, I'm very surprised. A few days ago there was some hinting at a small crash, as people started selling for ~570, but now I'm seeing people buying for 605m, and getting turned down. :thumbup: for that. Edit: Seeing offers of 615m getting turned down. Woot. Edit2: ^That was on forums, now I'm in W2. Seems to be about the same, a few offers floating around for 620. Divines seem to be all over the place....Anywhere from 1.1-1.2b by the looks of it. Low levels make a career of trying to mess teams up at corp in the hopes of someone dying, which makes the whole thing annoying and much more risky than it used to be. Not to say nobody corps anymore, but it's a fair bit less appealing than it used to be. I suspect that has something to do with spirit shield prices.
