Chaotic Rapier vs Longsword

CLS+Shield for bosses if you need a shield (EG, solo bandos) will probably be beaten by CR+defender, right?

 

So CLS+Shield is slightly under CR+defender. In other words, the defender is a big difference, but it helps CR more then CLS.

 

Correct me if I am wrong.

Guys, I'm 79/80 dungeoneering, but I'm only at about ~130k tokens. Is this normal? I have bought an arcane stream, coal bag, and scroll of life. Also, I have activated all the resource dungeons I have access too.

You would have around 198k tokens when yo reach level 80 dungeoneering assuming all the xp is from actual dungeoneering and you haven't spent any tokens- it's completely normal to have no tokens at 79 dungeoneering you haven't got much xp from dungeoneering or have spent all the tokens...

200k tokens is 2m xp on the dot which is about 20k xp into lvl 80. Since you spent on rewards early, however, your token count is offset from that and you're going to need to get a ways into 80 to make it up.

I've got both of them and I made some tests for myself on various tasks. Now I regret that i bought CLS, because rapier seems to go through tasks faster, especially@dragons <3. Note: I used overload and piety, 140str bonus

With rapier you don't hit so big numbers, but you actually kill it a bit faster (which might deppens on gear and stats). But for crashing/ffa, where you want big hits, CLS is good

Everyone likes their pixels different, so I doubt this will ever end. The maul seems to be mentioned on every other page or so whenever someone makes the original realization that it's good for PvP. Otherwise this is just Rapier stats being refuted by people who bought the Longsword first without thinking.

Nah, it won't end until the rapier fanboys realize that killing fire giants with an extra 19 strength for 200k/hr ain't as slick as it sounds.

In all fairness, cls is fun to use (albeit not as fun as Maul or rapier IMO). Having hit 11.3m exp I have plenty of room for chaotic weapons and as such I have Cr, Cls, Cm, Cxbow and a bunch of other rewards. People who are defending cls are either

1. Reffering to a specific situation where cls outclasses rapier

2. Not using Extremes/Turmoil

3. Defending their choice on spending 200k tokens.

 

Sure, if you're only going to get one weapon get a cls, but who is honestly going to stay at 80/81 dungeoneering forever?

^Pretty much what I plan on doing. I got the CLS first, and will probably have the rapier in the next few weeks. And before anyone flames me for that, I'm not really doing any combat anyway, so it hasn't made a difference. 95% of my recent combat experience has come from a Prom 2h, and a T7 berserker ring. I won't really start combat training outside of daemonheim for a while yet.

 

Maybe the Chaotic Crossbow as #3, we will see. Unless they release a Gatestone teleport spell that you have to buy. That would be the most incredible reward ever.

This is true. Would almost triple the xp doing double natures. Which would bring 91rc up to 2m/h profit. Kind of insane. Until the market becomes oversaturated with nature runes that is.

 

Planting it at a boss would be interesting. You could bypass the kc req at the gwd doing that as well. hmmm......
