Toad
Quiet Before the Swarm is the first in a new series of Void Knight content (three quests and one activity), which will come to a conclusion in the coming months. The series will involve all of the main orders of knights in RuneScape, but revolves around the mysterious Void Knights and their long-running struggle to prevent their greatest fear a full-on pest invasion of RuneScape. For too long, the Void Knights have been diligently, yet quietly, fighting their battle against the pests in Pest Control. In this quest, you will travel to the Void Knights Outpost to inquire about the possibility of a pest slipping past their vigil and escaping onto the mainland. There, youll put your investigative and puzzle-solving skills to the test, wading through a torrent of small community squabbles to discover who could do such a thing. The time has come to put names to the Void Knights faces and get inside their heads (literally, in some cases!) as you unscramble thoughts, guide broken memories into place and fight your way to the truth but the truth is never black and white; there are always shades of grey... Mod NancyRuneScape Content Developer Summary:Where to start Quiet Before the Swarm: Speak to Sir Tiffy in Falador Park. Requirements to start Quiet Before the Swarm: Imp CatcherWanted!Level 42 StrengthLevel 35 AttackCompleted at least one game of Pest Control In other news... Weve changed the animations for all of the Strike, Bolt, Blast, Wave and Surge spells (for all four elements). These spells now use some of the game engine's newer features such as particles, and have updated sound effects to accompany them. Weve added a smithing anvil to the town of Lumbridge, which can be found next to the furnace that's a short distance north of Lumbridge Castle. It is now much easier to obtain hunting supplies from the ruined boat in the penguin area. We've added a counter for the friends and ignore interfaces in the lobby and in-game, so you can see how many entries are in each list and how many more spaces you have available. You can now set a marker position or waypoint on the World Map. You'll then get a hint arrow to help you get there! Also, scrolling the mouse wheel over the World Map will now zoom in/out focused upon the location of your mouse cursor. Its now faster and more efficient to churn cheese. When churning, you will now create wheels of cheese. While these wheels cannot be traded, they can be sliced into vast quantities of cheese which can be. Furthermore, youll get a little Cooking experience for each piece of cheese you slice. Each cheese wheel will give you a minimum of five pieces of cheese, but the higher your Cooking level, the more cheese youre likely to get. In addition, new milk-seller NPCs can be found wandering near the dairy cows and dairy churns. Weve updated the climbing boots that you are able to buy after starting the Death Plateau quest. The price of existing boots will be increased to be more appropriate in relation to their usefulness (i.e. their combat stats). A new, second type of climbing boot will be provided to enable questers to complete the quest for the same low cost they used to be able to (the climbing boots for the quest will not have combat stats). You can buy either type of boots from Tenzing the Sherpa in his hut on the path to Death Plateau. 24-Jun-2010 - Free-to-play Quest Changes The Swept Away and Myths of the White Lands quests have been made permanently free-to-play! These two quests were created, respectively, to go alongside the Halloween 2008 and Christmas 2008 holiday events, and were available to free-players during the two weeks of the event, before becoming members-only quests. Any free-players who missed out on the opportunity to play these quests before can now do so at their leisure. These two quests have been made permanently free-to-play to replace Sheep Shearer and Witchs Potion, which are now no longer classified as quests for anyone, as we no longer feel theyre not up to the standard of other quests. Although Sheep Shearer and Witchs Potion no longer appear in the Quest List, adventurers can still undertake them for their experience and item rewards (by talking to Fred the farmer in Lumbridge or Hetty the witch in Rimmington). Myths of the White Lands and Swept Away will each award either 1 or 2 Quest Points, depending on your progress through Sheep Shearer and Witchs potion before the update. No one will lose any Quest Points due to this change. Mod MarkRuneScape Lead Designer Patch notes[hide]The following small fixes and adjustments have now been made to the game. [/hide] Edit: Quest guide: 1) Speak to Sir Tiffy in Falador park 2) Sir Tiffy has heard reports of a pest south of Falador and asks you to goto the Void Knight Outpost to see if any have escaped. 3) Speak to Commodore Matthias in the most north eastern building on the island, He'll tell you that there's no chance of a pest escaping but that if we insist we should speak to Captain Tyr. 4) Speak to Captain Tyr and he'll say it's unlikely that any escaped but ispossible and asks for you to speak to 9 people on the east side of the island. (See list a) 5) After Speaking to the 9 people go back to Captain Tyr and you'll summarise what you were told, you're then asked to think about what you heard and figure out how had access to the pests and a reason to do it. 6) Speak to Jessika and confront her about the crime, she'll deny it so go speak to Captain Tyr about your suspisians and he'll ask for you to talk to the Commodore 7) Speak to Commodore Matthias and you'll enter a cutscene, afterwards you'll have to enter Jessika's mind and see her memories to determine if she really did let the pest go. 8) You are presented with a 3x3 sliding puzzle, all the pieces of a border on them so their location should be fairly obvious. Upon completion you confirm that Jessika was the one responsible. 9) Following another cutscene you'll be asked to report back to Sir Tiffy with your findings. Yet another Cutscene will follow and you'll find a confused Korasi at Port Sarim docks who is then teleported to the Temple Knight Headquarters for safety. Despoist all your items and equipment and speak to Sir Tiffy to be teleported there yourself. 10) Speak to Korasi and ask her about what happened, she says she doesn't remember so once again you'll have to enter her mind to see her memories. 11) Once inside speak to the person in the toll both and ask what you have to do. You have to help the Void Knights cross the bridge. The bridge is only strong enough to carry two at a time. You have a sword and whoever crosses must have the sword to defend from the pests. Each knight has a different "weight" based on the memories Korasi has of them, the heavier of the knights is the "toll" paid to cross the bridge. Go over 15 and it collpases. (See b and c) 12) Upon completing this puzzle you'll be faced with another one. This time you have to listen to each persons facts and then assign them a place on the ship, what they were thinking about and what they saw. (See d) 13) After finishing this puzzle you'll find yourself in control of Korasi, kill the Pest in front of you then go up the ladder. You'll find the ship overrun with pests! Kill the shifter as the rest of the knights fight, upon killing the sifter everyone on the ship will die and another cutscene will take place. Matthias will be fighting a mysterious figure and as he's about to die he'll teleport you (Korasi) to the docks which is where you found her earlier. 14) You'll then be out of Korasi's memory and back at the Temple Knight Head quarters so speak to Korasi and she'll remember everything, Sir Tiffy says you need to speak to Tyr about what happened.
