June 24, 201016 yr Also, another reason to not vote for a rollback, is that jagex can track items. They can find out what boots have been alched/sold, and change the amount of gp they should have recieved for it. More like a selective rollback, so that it won't harm the rest of the people playing. How is this possible when they bought items with the cash they made? :-?

June 24, 201016 yr damn it im pretty sure i cleaned out my bank of all my climbing boots prior to the dungeering bank space update..... meh i think i threw out maybe 20 of them oh well what you gunna do..... http://www.clanhavok.net/
June 24, 201016 yr people are saying there will be a rollback, i cant get into mod marks cc so i dont know if its true
June 24, 201016 yr Now when I think about it few more inflations and alching is pretty much going to die ...
June 24, 201016 yr Why don't they think these things through.. Oh well, it's nice for those that had some and for those that didn't it's just a pretty darn big pain in the butt  How is the new quest though? Any fun/hints/new lore or anything? The quest was actually fun and Darkdude posted an awesome guide up for it a few pages back on this thread. Thanks DarkDude!
June 24, 201016 yr Cliffhanger. :shock:Next quest next week please? :P Really want to find out what happens next.I really enjoyed the quest, wish the rest of the series was out now. The new spell graphics I really like as well. Love the way the earth spell uses the ground together with the animation, i've been waiting for that for ages. :P The Climbing Boot update il give a "wtf?" at. WHat was wrong with the old boots? Feels more like an excuse for Jagex to give out billions of coins to people who have hoarded those boots. Why not just make an npc that sells partyhats for 1 coin each, without changing the ge price of partyhats? Its like they werent satisfied with the PvP World inflation and wanted to increase prices further... The waymarker pointer is a nice little feature. Also what the hell happened to Port Sarim using DirectX? Pretty much every roof is glitched somehow. I loved the quest, but the "small" "tweaks" kinda ruined a lot of other things. ........::::: Rainy's YouTube Channel - Rainy's Twitter - Rainy's Facebook - Rainy's DeviantArt - Rainy's Tumblr - Rainy's Tip.It Profile :::::.........

June 24, 201016 yr 15-16-783-61187426 Mod Mark said: Hi all, We have recently made some changes to the price of climbing boots in the game, and changed the objects gained at the end of the Death Plateau quest to reflect these changes. The recent change to the climbing boots was necessary to make: they werent designed well and did not fit in with the high standards we have regarding our equipment and prices. There are always thousands of accounts trying to buy these boots on the GE and very few trying to sell them, because they had low shop prices and complications to obtain in the first place. Rather than nerf the boots or force players to buy other boots, we decided to raise the market price of the boots to reflect the price that players were actually paying in player-to-player trades. They also reflect the market price of other strength-boosting equipment. We do not intend to rollback this change. We researched this solution thoroughly before making the change. We knew that a few accounts would gain millions of gold from these changes. A tiny number of accounts had over 1000 of these boots, and have made a lot of cash in a very short period of time. Realistically, these accounts have always had the potential to make that sort of cash from the boots (based on what we know players were trading for outside of the GE), we have just made it easier for them to do so. We made the call to allow everyone to benefit from this change, rather than for people to suffer from it as a nerf would have done. I am sorry if you feel you have suffered because you didnt own any, but this is a short-term issue and is truly not as extreme as some individuals are making out. mod_mark RS Lead Designer Just if anyone wanted to know. =) PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape
June 24, 201016 yr The post from mod mark is [cabbage]. Clmibing boots never were 400k street price(eqvivalent to 75k ge) and he is just clueless about the game and about what his cronies are doing while he spanks his secretary. A sad day for scape to be honest... Selectively handing out 300b is a tragedy. First to 99 Farming on 27. September, 2005.First to 3766 Port Score on 20. March, 2014.First to 4664 Port Score on 2. June 24, 201016 yr http://i7.aijaa.com/b/00069/6363167.png I don't believe there was a real need to change anything at all. If it was left the way it was then there wouldn't really be any serious implications. People buy dragon boots and rune boots for a reason. You don't see people buying climbing boots instead unless it's for something more temporary like a P2P clan.

June 24, 201016 yr I mean I kinda see where they are getting at, just make the GE price to the market price of the items. Like make party hats/shields to their true market price so they will be buyable in GE. But then again, the majority of the people who have them were trying to use them instead of selling. I call this update an absolute and total failure of a scale so epic that not even Michael Bay can make a movie out of this. EDIT: Speaking of failures, where is MHL? That is a good point, Just didn't think far enough before posting. Although I'm pretty sure they could reverse trades as well, without rolling back the entire game. But of course this would get harder the longer time they waited, of course.
June 24, 201016 yr Wow, they knowingly allowed a minority of accounts to gain a massive cash boost without doing any work? Jagex are [bleep]ing stupid.
June 24, 201016 yr Well I personally know of somebody with over 7k in the G.E so mark's statement earlier was a full lie. I don't see why they didn't just change all the current boots to the un-tradeable quest version instead. Want to be my friend? June 24, 201016 yr They could've raised the GE price, but not the alch price, so it wouldn't bring extra CASH into the game :wall: Also, they could've made the boots easier to obtain from Sherpa (? was it her?), so people wouldn't have to spend over GE price (if they actually did that). :wall: All is all, :wall: :wall: :wall:
June 24, 201016 yr My face went something like this when reading that post.... We have recently made some changes to the price of climbing boots in the game, and changed the objects gained at the end of the Death Plateau quest to reflect these changes. The recent change to the climbing boots was necessary to make: they weren’t designed well and did not fit in with the high standards we have regarding our equipment and prices. Rather than ‘nerf’ the boots or force players to buy other boots, we decided to raise the market price of the boots to reflect the price that players were actually paying in player-to-player trades. Realistically, these accounts have always had the potential to make that sort of cash from the boots (based on what we know players were trading for outside of the GE), we have just made it easier for them to do so. I am sorry if you feel you have suffered because you didn’t own any, but this is a short-term issue. Seriously, I just really can't get over this. Yes. Pouring billions--and no matter how small you say it was, it was billions of confirmed gold that was most certainly not possible to happen at any time because people don't buy 200gp boots for 75k.--into the economy is cool? Nah, dude, dude naw. How can they have so little self respect to claim they researched this? To lie straight to people's face, to say this is an exaggeration of the minority, to say we are simply overreacting? Surely the arrogance of the PR staff know no bounds.
