Going to stick lava in the 4 corners, and add some other stuff. The plan is to stick lava in the 4 corners, for it to light up, then I'll stick water fountains/pools and other nice looking things inside. I actually used Mcmap rather than cartograph because I could never get cartograph to work properly :< Also Mcmap does this pretty cool thing where you can get it to show caves in relation to the surface. Minecart systems aren't as hard as they first look either, just experiment around with boosters and stuff. Just remember that carts with people in gain more momentum than those that don't. Just experiment around/watch videos on youtube to get an idea of how they work. Also, am I right in thinking grass now varies in colour around the map? I thought Notch had just changed the texture colours to make them more browny/realistic, but I was on SMP for the first in a while and I noticed the grass was paler than my SP world. Peregrine Posted November 24, 2010 Share Posted November 24, 2010 So last night I was watching Coe's live stream and a hundred other viewers, myself, and Coe ended up hopping onto the Discovr.Us server that was holding 23 people at the time, so.. there were around 130 people on the server in a pretty small area. Then we built some sort of.. castle-esque thing. Then we played a few games of spleef. And even though I was at around 9fps the entire time, and 3fps when those crazy admins flooded the spleef arena with lava, I had a great time. The server did pretty well too. I did catch up on his series though, which I only started watching like 3 or 4 days ago. My past month or so has been pretty much devoted to minecraft related stuff. I love Let's Plays and minecraft too much for them to be something that you can combine. Aka I've watched 5 or so let's plays of minecraft in their entirety, and pick up a new one every time I catch up with the newest one I've started. It's unhealthy. However, I came up with an idea that I though was cool (off of something Coe said) and decided I was going to take a world and hide treasure randomly throughout it, and then maybe upload it so people can have added incentive to explore. Yup :) The idea being to get to biomes and stuff when I explore more of the map. Was originally thinking of extending the first system with the water stations further, but I decided to do something with redstone and a single track to save on resources. Anyone interested? Yeah, I watched X's adventures, thankfully the series is on hiatus otherwise my free time would be nil. About the idea - everyone would blame it on Herobrine. :P But it would be pretty awesome to symmetrize/colonize some obscure part of the world and leave no mention that you did it on a SMP server, thus increasing the sanity and blood pressure of the server's regulars. I've started a new map in hopes to make a island fortress. Luckily found a vast mine under my spawn point (on an island) and now have build the walls/base of a massive fortress. Drawing the basic layout of it right now and gonna build it after I explore the Nether a bit more. You can make TNT so it has something like 100 block explosion (but gets rid of pickupables to reduce lag) as well as a gert big shockwave and you can change the length of fuse. From my chest perch (I just wait out the night on peaceful) the shockwave killed me from something like 75 blocks away. Now all I have to do is make a disaster button in the centre of the map, then surround myself with TNT a few hundred blocks away and link up the TNT with RedstoneUnleashed. Then I will see a mess of a post-apocalyptic world....and chuckle to myself. Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Little background, he's in his third cave and has been ranting about finding a Spider spawner for several episodes. You'll love it. Napalm Posted November 26, 2010 Share Posted November 26, 2010 So I went to the bottom of a 40 block deep quarry, which was inside a tunnel, and on top of the rock bottom of the map, I started making a 2 blocks tall 1 block wide horizontal tunnel, which went on for over 100 blocks, until I hit a giant wall of lava which got me killed twice. I dug arround the lava and found a giant cave, with 3 spots with diamonds on the walls. So I was mining happily, exploring the cave, when all of a sudden 3 skeletons ambush me. I somehow manage to survive with half a heart and no food, and a broken armour. I'm like "Well, I got 8 diamonds, and 2 more in my base, I better get going ba-" At this point, a zombie ambushes and kills me. I rush back to the spot, but I couldn't find any of my items.
