I meant with the contacting Jagex, which the moderation hasn't shown proof of doing after being asked multiple times for it.

Because, for the thousandth time, it took place in a manner in which we can't provide proof. We're currently in the process of getting said tangible proof, also for the thousandth time.

The thing was (and is) that for darkdude to have had contact with jagex and for them to confirm that the scripts were indeed illegal, some form of written communication had to happen.. He failed to give us any evidence other than him saying "yeah, they're illegal, i've contacted jagex." And from what has come up in the deleted posts "contacting jagex" could simply have been him saying they're illegal (i'll say no more because i'd prefer this discussion not be deleted too.)

I understand why you're upset about this. It's frustrating for us too, as we haven't seen anything either. All we can do is wait for the official response from Jagex. Continuing to push for the evidence of Darkdude's conversation is going no where, unfortunately.

No, I'm using this analogy because it was a 2 hour long conversation that I was personally witness to, that pissed a LOT of people off... and you're asking everyone to relive it lol.

I'll concede, that I did try to get them to stay. If you got 30 pissed off users, 2 of which want to go make there own playground elsewhere because they are butthurt, you bet your damn hat i'm going to do everything I can to reach a compromise with the other 28. If someone's hellbent enough to see that as powergrabbing (not that I needed more power, I had all I ever needed on the admin team and could walk back on anytime, not that i needed more responsibility here (I was spending 4-6 hours a day on this place as is ) Then yeah, I did it.'

 

My goal was to get angry users and turn them into pleased ones, and if that meant people who were leaving would stay and not go contribute to a new community out of anger or spite, then yeah, I wanted to "drive a wedge" between the community.

 

The main part of our discussion was the new metagame forum, it had lots of ideas/concepts discussed, such as making it private, application based, invite only - ran by members of the metagaming community (I mean, they said multiple times most of us were not qualified to run it, what else was i supposed to suggest?) and instead of feedback or a different idea, they saw it as "Tempting people with power" dont know about you but, the last thing i'd want to be tempted with is dead end, no thanks, brutal cog-like job to mod a board on tif.

 

I offered to remove some warnings and Ban's - this didn't really spark interest either, I believe some were lifted anyway during our review procedure.

I've noticed whats happened, and i've said multiple times that I cannot condone every action - say it was the right one, but I will say as a user, you only see so much of what goes on, and you guys are quite biased in your personal judgements of who is bad/good as a moderator.

Tell me, just how did you contact Jagex? A method that can show them the scripts in writing (I assume you didn't read it to them..) but cannot leave any records?

 

I understand if you can't display the records because of privacy concerns, but telling us how you did it is hardly likely to infringe on someone's privacy, is it?

 

And btw if you can't back your statements up with evidence you really shouldn't be using them in an argument, regardless of your statements truth value. Seems a bit naive to assume everyone would trust each other in this situation.

I'll repeat what I mentioned earlier.

 

Logdotzip noted that a certain moderator, who I will not name for privacy reasons, was "good at deleting posts."

 

Said post was deleted for being derogatory towards a moderator.

 

In the world I live in, someone telling me that I'm good at something does not constitute a derogatory remark unless whatever I'm doing is something I perceive as wrong. Obviously, the moderator who deleted the post felt something was wrong with deleting posts... so he deletes the post. And half the thread to go with it. Ironic, isn't it?
