Omnitec
I've heard they drop something called a bolas, not sure what it is but it's in the quick chat, and I heard some people saying they found one. Anyone know what that is? :P

guitar_god_2007
So with a set price of 25m, does that mean these are fairly rare drops?I only ask, because i know a hand full of people that have had them dropped withing the first 10/20 kills Goals: 15m Slayer xp | 85 Herblore | 75+ All Stats | Chaotic Rapier | 125k/200k Tokens

Spec sounds nice, seems like once it settles it'll be a nice "bridge" weapon between whip and chaotics, even if it doesn't go too far aside from the reasonable spec. Squakus
In other animal abuse news, chickens. Lucky chickens, they get clan citadels 2 weeks in advance. On topic: are there any useful rewards that can be used outside the lair aside from the vine whip? LatinII
Special attack is pretty useless. The damage done by the vine is affected by your armor. Against 407 slash attack the special attack only hit me twice. Rest were all 0s. Korasi or dragon claws are better, against high Defence at least. All attacks are affected by defence, expect for Korasi's. This special seems like it could be useful against low defence monsters. By the sounds of it, it won't be too useful in PvP because it stops if your opponent is out of range. Cheefoo
My response to all the people who "knew" the upgraded whip would be better than chaotics: [spoiler=I LOVE MY STATION] 01001001001001110110110100100000010101000111011101100101011011000111011001100101001000000110000101101110011001000010000001110111011010000110000101110100001000000110100101110011001000000111010001101000011010010111001100111111
xpx
Was right about alot of things concerning this update but for the fact that they'd make it a lackluster special weapon with barely any boost over the normal whip. Was well prepared for the update- the 201's are very easy to kill(they are dark beasts with graphics and animations, btw), but they can hit very hard, up to around 350(most i was hit was around 320, but some was absorbed). Torva is definitely very useful there- with full torva, dragon defender and steel titan(for 15% more melee def bonuses) i got hit very rarely, so i maybe needed to soul-split around 600-800 lp back every 5 minutes. Didn't get any drops and left once everyone figured out bringing mage. As for them as a slayer monster, they won't be fast xp(around 35-38k an hour) and they are unagressive, so you can't at all afk them. The whip vine is bound to crash hard, while whips are entirely unaffected. pic of the whip vine(min quality) The spec seems useless for wildy as your target would need to stand still for it to keep hitting. captianant
I'm surprised that a weapon that requires 80 slayer and 85 attack to use is inferior to the rapier to be honest. 80 dg takes a week with dgs or (lord help you) 2 weeks with w117, it's not exactly a long skill to train. Slayer on the other hand, usually is at least a few days between levels if you're not nolifing it. Also, 85 attack is well, higher than 80 attack. I was just under the impression that more rigorous stats to wield inherently meant a better weapon. I guess I'll look forward to the lv90 tier of gear being worse than chaotics then. If they had done that, then Dunge would have gone down the toilet as far as a training skill. The main reason anyone does DG is for the chaotics and the Frosties -- mmmm, chocolate goodness ... Uh -- ok -- no not THOSE frosties, but still. I was just under the impression that more rigorous stats to wield inherently meant a better weapon. I guess I'll look forward to the lv90 tier of gear being worse than chaotics then. Well - perhaps, perhaps not. If the level 90 gear is only provided by, say "Nex's cousin's uncle's brother's former roomate", or another series of DG Floors and 100+ dunge requirements, then expect the level 90 gear to be pretty decent. If it's something like LRC phase 2, then no -- it'll be crap.
bob_hello
Found a bug in it already. It is possible to damage players in non-pvp with the spec. It is quite easy to figure out so expect an update/fix soon.

Seriously have no idea how you somehow even thought it might do that and what you're basing that on. People really need to learn to read the knowledge base when updates come out (or at all) the number of stupid questions I saw while in game was crazy. I managed to read up on everything and was still the first one on my server to the new area and got in a number of kills before anyone else showed up whilst still knowing what I needed to know about the area.
