BloodAngel
While recovering from RuneFest and some epic Halloween parties, its nice to know there'll be some chunky updates to help me recover. Updates to take my mind off all the sweets and pumpkin pie I didnt eat. Honest! Thanksgiving 2011 We're not done partying quite yet, although the turkeys of RuneScape have a different idea on how to celebrate Thanksgiving this year. Captain Turkerton and his turkey brethren are planning a protest against their species being put on the Thanksgiving menu for another year! If their demands arent met, a turkey invasion seems imminent, and they're prepared to gobble up the land. Can you find a peaceful solution? Can you stand the thought of Thanksgiving dinner without turkey? Free players and members completing the turkey event will be able to unlock the new Thanksgiving crest for their herald capes, which will also change the turkey emote if played while worn. Members will also be able to unlock a brand new turkey pet! Re-working the Interface We are continually re-working areas of RuneScape that we feel could do with a lick of paint. These improvements arent just about NPC models, environments and gameplay, though. They also relate to the main game screen itself, which we call the "top level interface". The top level rework involves an overhaul of the interfaces that are used by players all the time. We are improving the style and functionality, and are introducing a new vibrant colour scheme. These changes include: Brand-new info boxes, making examine messages and left click actions appear over the item your clicking on rather than hidden as a text message. No more checking the top left corner for NPC names - they'll appear next to your mouse cursor if this option is enabled.New stone buttons (the ones you use to open your inventory, quest journal etc) with new icons (dont worry; theyre based on the old ones).A rework of the borders of the minimap, including a new metallic look.New trims to the side panel interfaces themselves (like the inventory).New Website Were undergoing a complete overhaul of the RuneScape website design, an example of which you can see in the screenshot below. The new design is a big departure from the current look and feel. We aim to capture the grand sense of adventure and exploration that RuneScape offers and bring that right out into the foundations of the site, while keeping all of the great features and information that you use on a day-to-day basis. New Slayer Dungeon If, like myself, youre a fan of the Slayer skill, youll be excited when you read the title of this update! As soon as you enter this new dungeon, you will find yourself immersed in some amazing, jaw-dropping scenery, but dont look down, as this dungeon has a real sense of depth to it. Towards the end of the month, well be launching the Polypore Dungeon. A ramokee has snuck into RuneScape and used her skinweaving powers to create a variety of horrific new monsters, many of which can only be killed by high-level slayers, and are best tackled with magic. Those who can defeat the ganodermic beasts (level 95 Slayer) may emerge with a unique kind of battlestaff and the materials to make incredibly protective mage armour. Elsewhere in the dungeon, therell be mage armour for lower-level fighters, and a very suspicious mushroom for PKers to eat. The ramokee herself was originally destined from birth to serve her tribe as a healer, but she has rejected that destiny and abandoned her tribe. Now she sits enthroned in the depths of the cave, revelling in the freedom to use her skinweaving powers to indulge her own whims and curiosity. Along with the skinweaver, the dungeon is home to a strange little man with a sad story. He sells bizarre garments that form the basis of the mage armour. One Piercing Note If youve seen the bottom of our newest Lores and Histories story, youll already know the title of Novembers quest: One Piercing Note. Legend has it that, during the God Wars, there lived a holy woman named Elspeth whose voice was so perfect that no demon could bear to hear it. In the present age, a group of Saradominist holy women found Elspeths remains on a remote desert plateau and set up an abbey in her memory. Within the abbeys sand-blasted walls the Sisters of Saint Elspeth devote their lives to prayer and sacred music. Now there has been a murder in the abbey, and Abbess Benita is praying for an adventurer to investigate. To complicate matters, a wandering troubadour has set up camp outside the abbey, despite the orders rules forbidding secular music. Its up to you to uncover the abbeys secrets and find the killer. As befitting a quest involving a troubadour and a holy choir, sound and music play a prominent role in One Piercing Note. The music is woven into the story, and includes recordings of real musicians and singers. In addition, in a first for RuneScape, all NPC dialogue will be voice-acted. So, turn your speakers on and enjoy our latest all-singing, all-dancing quest! Requirements for One Piercing Note: None (besides being members-only)Higher-level players who own god books can return after the quest for a new activity requiring level 60 in Prayer and Crafting. Wilderness Graphical Updates Last, but not least, were planning on reworking large areas of the Wilderness graphics. These include: Many landmark locations including: the King Black Dragons lair, teleport obelisks, the Mage Arena and the Agility training area.New lava environments.A higher frame rate; reducing PK issues, not adding to them!Visit our media page for some sneak preview screenshots! Have fun! Mod MarkRS Lead Designer "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."

aspeeder
Well it's gonna be pretty devoid of content for the first half of the month, oh well I still have 99 mage to get and that'll reduce distractions so fine by me I guess. New quests are good and hopefully I can put my slayer cape to good use. http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww6/aspeeder/Siggy_zpsewaiux2t.png 99 Strength since 6/02/10 99 Attack since 9/19/10 99 Constitution since 10/03/10 99 Defense since 3/14/11 99 Slayer since 8/30/11 99 Summoning since 9/10/11 99 Ranged since 09/18/11 99 Magic since 11/12/11 99 Prayer since 11/15/11 99 Herblore since 3/29/12 99 Firemaking since 5/15/12 99 Smithing since 10/04/12 99 Crafting since 9/16/13 99 Agility since 9/23/13 99 Dungeoneering since 1/1/14 99 Fishing since 2/4/14 99 Mining since 2/28/14 99 Farming since 6/04/14 99 Cooking since 6/11/14 99 Runecrafting since 10/10/14 9 Fletching since 11/11/14 99 Thieving since 11/14/14 99 Woodcutting since 11/20/14 99 Construction since 12/03/14 99 Divination since 2/22/15 99 Hunter since 2/23/15 99 Invention since 01/20/17 99 Archaeology since 5/14/22Quest Point Cape since 08/20/09 Maxed since 2/23/15 Fire Cape since 02/27/13 Slayer: 3 Leaf-Bladed Swords, 8 Black Masks, 2 Hexcrests, 26 Granite Mauls, 5 Focus Sights, 32 Abyssal Whips, 9 Dark Bows, 1 Whip Vine, 3 Staffs of Light, 15 Polypore Sticks Dragon: 9 Draconic Visages, 7 Shield Left Halves, 20 Dragon Boots, 40 Dragon Med Helms, 8 Dragon Platelegs, 6 Dragon Spears, 20 Dragon Daggers, 5 Dragon Plateskirts, 1 Dragon Chainbody, 63 Off-hand Dragon Throwing Axes, 19 Dragon Longswords, 27 Dragon Maces, 1 Dragon Ward Treasure Trails: Saradomin Full Helm, Ranger Boots, Rune Body (t), Saradomin Vambraces, Various God Pages Misc:1 Onyx,1 Ahrim's Hood, 1 Guthan's Chainskirt, 1 Demon Slayer Boots

Matey
Fairly decent month. Most of the the gameplay videos shown during RuneFest had the new interface used in them and it looks really nice, so I'm actually quite looking forward to that. I'm not normally that bothered about quests, but it's nice that this one will be fully voiced. Perhaps they'll start doing that for all future quests at some point? Another Slayer dungeon never hurts, too. To hell with humanity; The more I see, the less I believe.

UserOnRS
Something that I thought was worth mentioning was the new home page that they have shown in the BTS. There seems to be fewer mentions of the game being free now and there is no mention whatsoever on the new home page about it being free to play - I don't see why they aren't advertising that it's a free game to anyone who may come across the site for the first time.

aspeeder
I've heard of a rumour that Jagex is releasing the Soul Talisman, which (probably) means that we will able to craft our own Soul runes. That's probably from the Wicked Hood, it has a spot for a soul talisman which is unfillable atm; it's possible it'll be out this month but I suspect that they'll build up to it a lot if/when they release it. http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww6/aspeeder/Siggy_zpsewaiux2t.png 99 Strength since 6/02/10 99 Attack since 9/19/10 99 Constitution since 10/03/10 99 Defense since 3/14/11 99 Slayer since 8/30/11 99 Summoning since 9/10/11 99 Ranged since 09/18/11 99 Magic since 11/12/11 99 Prayer since 11/15/11 99 Herblore since 3/29/12 99 Firemaking since 5/15/12 99 Smithing since 10/04/12 99 Crafting since 9/16/13 99 Agility since 9/23/13 99 Dungeoneering since 1/1/14 99 Fishing since 2/4/14 99 Mining since 2/28/14 99 Farming since 6/04/14 99 Cooking since 6/11/14 99 Runecrafting since 10/10/14 9 Fletching since 11/11/14 99 Thieving since 11/14/14 99 Woodcutting since 11/20/14 99 Construction since 12/03/14 99 Divination since 2/22/15 99 Hunter since 2/23/15 99 Invention since 01/20/17 99 Archaeology since 5/14/22Quest Point Cape since 08/20/09 Maxed since 2/23/15 Fire Cape since 02/27/13 Slayer: 3 Leaf-Bladed Swords, 8 Black Masks, 2 Hexcrests, 26 Granite Mauls, 5 Focus Sights, 32 Abyssal Whips, 9 Dark Bows, 1 Whip Vine, 3 Staffs of Light, 15 Polypore Sticks Dragon: 9 Draconic Visages, 7 Shield Left Halves, 20 Dragon Boots, 40 Dragon Med Helms, 8 Dragon Platelegs, 6 Dragon Spears, 20 Dragon Daggers, 5 Dragon Plateskirts, 1 Dragon Chainbody, 63 Off-hand Dragon Throwing Axes, 19 Dragon Longswords, 27 Dragon Maces, 1 Dragon Ward Treasure Trails: Saradomin Full Helm, Ranger Boots, Rune Body (t), Saradomin Vambraces, Various God Pages Misc:1 Onyx,1 Ahrim's Hood, 1 Guthan's Chainskirt, 1 Demon Slayer Boots
Robert_R
The soul alter portal has been in the abyss for years. Finding a picture of the talisman isn't really ground breaking news. I've been thinking they're going to make another elf quest to unlock the soul alter just because the death alter was released in one and they still haven't finished the quest story line. But that's just a theory. Can't see it being released in any of these updates this month. Actually I can't see it being released until they add a spell that actually makes the rune useful. Cheefoo
Higher-level players who own god books can return after the quest for a new activity requiring level 60 in Prayer and Crafting. PLEASE let this include some sort of change to god books. I think it's stupid that it takes 25% special meter just to read out loud from the book... At least give it some special effect or something. Also, the newer books (Bandos, Zaros and Armadyl) have pretty crappy stats, Zamorak books are generally better to use in mostly every circumstance. I would love it if completed prayer books gave you some sort of bonus based on how much co-aligned equpiment you're wearing. So having a holy book of Saradomin while wearing a bunch of Saradomin items (holy symbol, monk robes, Saradomin rune armor etc...) would give you some sort of boost, perhaps to prayer drain rate or something. All in all, this month sounds good. I'm really excited about the new slayer dungeon and monsters, especially the fact that it's "mage-based"!
