Means i have to seriously grind some slayer xp, I wanna get to those 95 slayer beasts before whatever cool stuff they drop is worth pennies on the dollar. Ofcourse, 95 slayer will take forever, but honestly the slayer cave is the only update i seem to care for other than the rework of the website and interface changes.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

I didn't know anyone really had music on. The problem is that is grows old really fast when you hang out on a certain area for more than 5 minutes :(

 

Have you tried doing the playlist? Although not much point unless you genuinely enjoy the music

Yeah I tried the playlist. Made me sleepy. Runescape music is not for me, but I am sure many others share my opinion. It's great to have it there and it's fun to collect songs even when I never heard half of them :D

But some of them have to be listened sometimes to drop a few tears of nostalgia.

Agreed. This is one of those things that would be great to go back in time and make it always the case with slayer skill specific monsters.

I find the RS music strangely charming, I listen to it a lot. I still think that one of the biggest upgrades they could do is "orchestralise" the music, though. I've said it before; Jagex, you're based in Cambridge. If that place doesn't have budding, young and talented musicians looking for employment, nowhere has.

I truthfully don't believe we'll get to experience this just yet. Right now from reading/listening to the stuff being pumped out by the runefest attendees we are getting a quest with all NPCs with voice-over. The potential is there, such as picking from several different voices/persona's, but I think that might be later implemented if this quest is received well.

Arrrgh, please don't give our character a voice! Just make them speak in text for now. I don't want some generic voice given to every single player. If anything, allow us to choose different kinds of voices, but of course that would require a lot of programming and whatnot.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

I would love to be able to select from a range of options. The issue is that means... if there are 7 voices for each gender, that leaves 14. This means 14 different voices for the character. The "face" in the tower was only voices partially and we weren't voiced at all.

 

It would be awesome if it could work, but I don't know what their sound/data limits would be for the maximum number of options. Also it means getting 14 more voice actors.

I'm curious:

What the high-level prayer book thing post-quest will be. Sounds like we can atleast get 6 lumps of xp from it for prayer n craft (1 per book) and perhaps, due to needing the books, they get upgraded/reformed some how? Perhaps crafting to make some kinda of shield or jewellery that we imbue with the gods essence to gain better/similar stats to the book?

Aww. I guess they didn't want to bother with the voice for our character since it would mean having the same people do the voices for *every* future quest. Oh well, One Piercing Note will be a worthy experiment for fully-voiced characters.

Speaking of the more-frequent voice acting, am I the only one who doesn't like it? I've actually had to turn off all sound coming from Java because turning the sound off in RS settings doesn't stop the wall voice from playing.

I only hear RS Sound with headphones plugged in. No complaints.

I think this is a fair excuse on top of the fact that it would take quite a large amount of work to work in the same actors for all future quests.

 

Games like DA and ME don't have voiced main characters and to be honest it makes sense. There's so much variability to how people want to perceive their own character and forcing a voice onto them would a little off-putting for some.
