I did the quest semi-afk. Talked to people on irc, browsed forums etc... All songs unlocked from just doing the quest.

That's a shame, because the music tracks and atmosphere sounds are very well done.

What the [bleep] even is this...

Jad's animations are totally [bleep]ed up. Everything was going fine until the healers. I saw a video of the Kiln and saw his new attack animations, so I assumed I was ready to go to the Fight Caves to get another fire cape. But as soon as the healers appeared... Well I don't even know what even is this green stuff and doesn't understand why it happens when it goes.

I lured the healers on me, as to stop them from healing Jad. That appeared to work (though I'm not sure, beacuse Jad's lifebar was off the goddamned screen 95% of the time) but Jad continued to sparkle green and rear on his hind legs as fire spewed from his gullet in some sort of particle effect orgy. That would be all well and good on any other monster but this is The Goddamned TzTok-Jad and I can't afford to have my eyes sexually assaulted by pretty graphics for even an instant. At this point, I had no [bleep]ing idea how he was attacking because Jagex is butt-retards, so I died.

So this is my question to you. Has anyone really been far ever as decided to go to wave 63 and fight boss and to do more look like? And if so, how?

I'm wondering how to understand what is going on with Jad's animations. I was doing fine at first, but when the healers get on him, everything seems to go to hell. The healing animations seems to glitch up his other animations, from what I can gather.

Just gave him my first attempt and did it with ease. Just pray mage non-stop until he smashes the ground then switch to range, did me fine. I watched his moves for a few minuets and he's got 3 magic moves and the one range move.

Ohhh, he has three different looking mage moves? I saw him doing some weird looking crap and I thought it had to do with the healers. I assumed I lured them wrong or something, and they were still healing him. I couldn't see his life bar for most of the fight, and those green sparkles around him led to believe he was somehow still being healed.

By the way, what should I use on Jad? I used a polypore staff the whole way through, and it seemed rather inaccurate on Jad himself. What about storm of Armadyl? Perhaps I could borrow someone's ABS?

I thought the final boss was supposed to be harder than the double Jads. Doesn't sound that way :P

All in all, I loved the new quest and I've only gotten like 10 effigies in my whole RS career. Still, I think the change was stupid. Too little, too late.

I thought the final boss was supposed to be harder than the double Jads. Doesn't sound that way :P

It is (sorta). If you stand in certain place before both jads spawn, only one will attack you at a time, so it's basically b2b jads. Ofc if you fight 2 jads at the same time, it will be much harder than pretty much anything on rs as for today lol. During final fight you will take hits one way or another, but overall, not much harder than, let's say, the typical quest boss, just happens to have a lot of hp.

Speaking of which, to people wondering if they can do fight kiln without nex equipment: have in mind that this is the first day of this update, and ofc people will use the best gear possible (even more considering it's safe) and many others will just wait for the results. It seems that the nex equipment "requirement" is an overkill requirement once you know all the key aspects of fight kiln (such as, knowing the spawn locations of jads), so it's safe to say that nex equipment isn't a must to do this. Ofc, it will make everything much easier but that's about it.

I wonder if prices of claws/boots will increase now that the effigy rate has decreased? A bit early, since we have no idea how much it was nerfed; will be interesting to see if this update has a fairly large economic impact.

Working on max and completionist capes.

People camp TDs+Glacs for Effigies+Profit from rare drops. With effigies nerfed will they continue?

That's his question.

I don't see why. TDs/ganos are still good cash and glacors are still great for charms and steady profit. o_O That wasn't changed.

Still makes one of their main features null and void.

See TheAncients points about TD's, Ganos and Glacors now being inefficient in the various threads dotted around.

I figured claws could drop since people wouldn't slay or kill monsters as much since the effigy rate dropped and they would have to take time to train the skills themselves so they can achieve their levels compared to killing to collect the effigies, which isn't reliable now considering the update. Besides, people would still kill TDs and Glacors because it provides profit nonetheless.

Still makes one of their main features null and void.

I NEVER considered effigies a 'main feature' of anything. I never had the resources to go out with simply farming them in mind. TDs were out before them, too, and were still prized for their charm rates and gp/hr. That's not going to change, and I can't imagine the prices even blipping for a significant period of time. If the effigy hunters leave, less specialized people will fill the gap (if any) that is left behind.

But part of the appeal certainly has.

Only if you were going to there with effigies in mind. The average person wasn't.

Even if effigies isn't on the minds of most hunters, it's still rather disappointing to not get them as much since they made for nice cherries on a good trip and made up for any bad or terrible trips, making for a desirable extra to them. At least less people will TD, giving me the incentive to go back and kill a few... *gets an idea*

I know what you were getting at, but I just wanted to throw my own thoughts and opinions into the mix. :P

Does the karamja elite reward activate in the kiln? As in can you still get resurrected once a day?

But part of the appeal certainly has.

What I mean is that while people may be out looking for cash, the effigies may have been a strong incentive that made people elect those options over others.

Say DKS or Arma runecrafting, for example.

So sure they didn't go there solely because they wanted effigies, but there's a lot less reason to go there now if the rate is nerfed by a large amount.
