The only thing I care about is the key HUD. If they had even an ounce of sense, they wouldn't have affected the appearance of souls and edis very much. Though now, of course, I'll have to fiddle with my damn browser window just to keep DGSweeper from covering the [bleep]ing key HUD. Genius at work, yet again, at Jagex HQ.

I can't even begin to explain how agitating it was to read your post. What a wonderful way to start the day.

 

Bad design IS their fault. Whether it's failing to provide a map application like Stev's, shoving vital information in hard-to-reach places, or knowing their limitations and working with the modding community to make the experience enjoyable and well-rounded. This is every bit as dumbfounded as their earlier flounderings, founded strongly in their desire to happily ignore any and everything that is their own shortcomings in addressing player needs.

 

I'm going to agree with Jonanananas here. They made it easier to use for normal people to use. They shouldn't go out of their way to make sure that it doesn't conflict with a program that isn't theirs.

 

You're completely missing the point of why it's an issue.

 

 

The bolded part was what threw me off. I agree that Jagex should provide stuff like this, but on the other hand it might that they have reasons why they're not doing this. And if they are really not capable of handling it themselves, I'm not sure if the modding community is the answer, especially with their stance on 3rd party tools and the troubles of distinguishing between allowed and forbidden tools.

 

Even then, I don't think that this is worth the rage(if I may call it that), considering it's really a minor issue compared with other stuff Jagex has messed up.

Increasing the number of slayer monsters is a good thing imo, because it makes slayer more prominent in clearing gds, the only way the skill can really affect dg. It was a bit unimportant before, probably the least called for.

Increasing the number of blood necklace/hex drops is a bit iffy, but I think it's reasonable that you should be able to get one or two as drops before you hit 120.

I've seen like 8 edimmus and the first one I killed dropped a blood necklace which someone stole from me, so now maybe I'll actually get one.

You mean prior to this update right?

 

I'm curious how it was 'stolen' wasn't there an update a good few months back now that makes it so that only the killer of the monster can see the slayer drop within DG due to the very issue of people stealing rare drops after letting someone else do the work of killing the monster.

You consistently miss the point of, well, just about everyone. The point is this should have been done THE FIRST TIME not as a fix. Its good they fixed it quickly but the idiots at Jagex should have known making it any other way than easily viewable would have been asinine.

Mistakes happen. No one's perfect. And there are truly worse things that can happen than not being able to check keys in dung easily for one week.

Mistakes happen. No one's perfect. And there are truly worse things that can happen than not being able to check keys in dung easily for one week.

Ok, again you miss the point. The point was also never that it was a huge deal. It was that Jagex should have done it from the start, since it was so blatantly obvious to anyone who actually DG's that is was needed.

I've understood it perfectly well, but to make you happy: There are worse things to happen than Jagex not implementing something that should have been obvious.

the answers are pretty self-evident

first edimmu he killed, as in a long time ago before 30 seconds exclusivity edimmu, dropped a blood neck which was sniped

since then he saw 7 more that dropped nothing

he obviously didn't kill 8 edimmus today

2480+ total

OBVIOUSLY there are worse things, like bots. That's a terrible defense of anything though. "Honestly it was only kidnap, not like I murdered anyone" "Honestly it was only cheating, not like I stole" etc etc ad infitum.

 

I'd argue there is actually very little worse mistakes to make then one like this. It means Jagex devs are completely out of the loop as to how players play the game if no one thought "hey why don't we make this easy to see quickly..."

Yeah Jagex is often a bit out of touch with the gameplay reality. That's what feedback is useful for then. Most of these issues get fixed pretty soon.

 

Of course it would be a lot better if they weren't out of touch, but it doesn't do that much harm really.

Just did a f58 solo since I wanted to test this and didn't have time for a large. 4 night spiders in just that floor.

 

If this is average, it's a huge improvement. Then again, I've seen a 4 night spider denk within the last week before this update, so it could just be a lucky floor.

And ty Jagex for finally waking up about the keys. :thumbup: for fixing it that fast, though I agree with Kim and Stone here: did they honestly think having it "hidden" would actually be useful?

Awesome update. I love the new "key bar" in dungoneering, and I've seen a bunch of night spiders in a few solo meds so far. STILL NO HOOD but at least my chances are better than before.

 

Has anyone checked if the special attack message now appears even when on "filtered" game messages? The message still doesn't pop up if you use a special attack restore potion and hit 50%/100% by using it, however. That much I'm sure of.

i wonder if it is possible to find gazers on solo floors now.

 

I believe it's only possible to find gazers on large floor.
