  • Dear Jagex,   You guys said that you read this thread in that livestream.   Releasing EOC prematurely is the worst decision you could possibly make.   That is all.   Love, Meredith

  • I still don't like how levels only allow you to unlock abilities and equipment. Gaining a strength level should raise your max hit by a lot more than 1.

I'm still not happy that they've made skill levels so useless in terms of direct contribution to combat (attack/def rolls, max hit etc). As it is, I can actually get hit by level 2 rats pretty consist

I imagine that it's much harder to camp anything for an extended period of time in the beta, given that armour seems to be almost worthless and you'll be cosntantly taking hits as long as you're in combat. Went to Dark Beasts in full Armadyl and lasted about 20 kills on 8k LP.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Nope. I have Blood barraged at ape atoll with no prayers, except the occasional soul split. I just used a shield (splitbark).

To be fair, those apes are level 120 or something now... so they're considered weak trash in EoC.

If someone could recommend me to the combat beta for full access I would gretaly appreciate it. I have made 3 long feedback threads on the forums and still nothing. My RSN is Muerte Bella, thank you.

In respect to the brew change: also consider the balance in creation of a brew. The sole reason why sharks were in the past used over potatoes was because a shark was so much easier to make.

Same for a saradomin brew: that actually requirs quite a few not-quick-to-gather materials (1.5 nest & 1.5 snapdragon). So such a change would mean brews will be terribly difficult food, for a small benefit. In the long term this will effect the price of nests & snaps a lot. (As no one will use them).

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

If anyone finds a doomcore staff on the beta server, please let me know if it's a 1 handed staff or a 2 handed staff.

All staves are 2h, that's why they brought in wand equivalents of most major staves

I know, but I hear rumors that the doomcore staff is 1 handed. It's a rare drop from nechryael, so it could be true. And there aren't wands in Dungeoneering, are there?

I got a doomcore staff in my first beta dungeon. It was 2 handed...

My bound doomcore is still 1 handed, just did a dg to check.

It's possible dg staves are going to be changed to all be 1 handed if wands aren't introduced.

As the size of an explosion increases, the number of social situations it is incapabale of solving approaches zero.

Ensure you are not a social situation.

Been trying to get a beta doomcore to see if it was 1 handed too. Had high hopes it would be as we have 2 magic shields but no 1 handed magic weapons. Missed opportunity right there, but maybe they'll change it.

Fairly certain that reworking the Dung weapons is on their TODO list.

El Psy Congroo.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it earlier... another skilling feature made easy by the action bar is herb cleaning. Just set grimy herb to 1, hold down 1, and your inventory of herbs is cleaned in like 2 seconds

Right now I think the whole of dungeoneering is going to face a lot of legacy issues. I mean it's going to be brutal trying to make it out of dungeons without massive deaths if you don't got armor bound and even then with a plate bound its still going to be hell... I wonder if they'll scale back the room spawns or give out more binds earlier in the game. They are really going to have to work on dungeoneering... I dont know what to say.

Maybe we'll get a sort of bind synergy, if you bind 2 armour pieces of the same class, you get free boots or gloves, 3 of the same class, free boots + gloves or helmet etc.

They should have it so that for every major bind you get 1 minor bind. A major bind would be for items for the Chest, Legs, Main hand and Off hand. A minor bind would be for the Helm, Gloves, Boots, Necklace and Cape.

On top of that, they should have some sort of "binding bank" where between floors you have the ability to switch out bound equipment (still limited by the number of binds you have). That would allow players to be a mage one floor, a ranger the next, or even switch up between 2h to Duel with zero impact on the difficulty of the game.

Not sure that'll help with the difficulty as you're describing, but it'll help with the monotany.

I did dungeons around when the beta first came out. I actually found it to be fairly easy, but that wasn't on a 5:5, so.. at least duo/soloing was simpler since there were abilities that healed. I think they nerfed those too much now though..

They really need to fallback on spawns, or monster strength, or add a lot more binds. The nice thing about binds would be that you could have more full gear like they intended. Another issue is that protection prayers don't stop 100% of the damage so you still take a lot more damage than you would normally running through a dungeon. (Since even with boosted lifepoints that's useless if you don't have food to back it up.)

Anyone with full access to the combat beta know what this weeks patch notes are?

Hey guys,

Just to let you know as I won't be around tomorrow to tell you, there will not be a beta update (patch notes) tomorrow.

It has yet to be decided whether it will be performed early next week or doubled up with next weeks beta update.

I hope you all have a good weekend.

With a hood, I didn't have much trouble surviving. You just need to pick up food between kills and ss flash - aka what you do already. Surviving with a plate is much easier.

sigh and what for those without 95 prayer?

Everyone in the game has ss/turm...duhhhh. Why else would Jagex say:

In a system where everyone has something, featuring it in the calculation doesn't really help anyone, and so for the sake of streamlining, Prayer was dropped from the formula.

Elitism, much?

Not sure about you, but what is the point of gathering dungeoneering items if you're already maxed combat?

Really; people seem like to think there is a 1 route to rs now - and they are actually thinking that is good? First do farming for money -> then herblore/prayer/max combat -> then gather items for monster hunting -> then gather cash for other buyable -> then level those.

Really is that the only way rs can be played efficiently in the future?

Yes please.

When they get around to tweaking dungeoneering, I just hope that they open up free gear shops like the ones that they have on the surface.

Hopefully Jagex will release a much needed update that just fricken allows you to train herb and prayer without needing to spend a fortune on it. Somewhere or something you can do to just train and get exp without needing to spend anything on supplies first.

Once you hit 70s, that would be the herblore habitat? Slow, painful, but it would be xp for "free"..

Generally speaking, high level dungeoneers already have soul split and turmoil...
