Very true. It depends on whether dual-wield will be good or not. It may be the faster attack speeds matter due to overkill with 2h?

Yeah I'm excited for the charm collector. I'm also interested to know if the duel wielding will introduce chaotic wands and an offhand for it.

That's called Virtus Wand and Book

I'd say that it would be a bit redundant considering the Virtus items, but after Jagex went out of their way to add another level 75 staff a few months back, I'm not sure if that's an issue

It would certainly make high-end mage DW more accessible, which is something the style sorely needs.

I love how the winner of that prize is a (almost) maxed player, like most comps.

Still, Looking forward to trying the beta, and seeing Castle Wars. and ogod that charm collector.

AND instanced god wars? now the not-so-rich can actually access it without getting stomped on. :D

Where did you get these from?

And I am most certainly not excited about a new beta. Can we at least try to fix the one that is currently a mess instead of embarking on a new one? That's far more important than some fancy graphics. There's a bazillion things that need to be fixed in EoC, things ranging from the ease of bosses, the low value of various bosses, way too much XP everywhere and so on. Jagex already released one Evolution of Runescape far too early despite it clearly not being ready and the protestations of their beta testers; let us hope that does not happen again.

Not sure if you bothered to read those.

GWD bosses getting a hard mode, lets see how this goes before we start complaining about bosses being too easy.

Tbh, I expected a tad more of it then just a 2-3 days heads-up on the bts >.>

Yes because God Wars are the only thing that are currently wrong in the EoC, right? They have already done a bunch of 'fixes' and yet here we still are, like 4 months later and there's a still mess. It's going to need a lot more than this to fix it. So why don't we iron that out, instead of starting on a new beta so suddenly? The problem is they don't really do these fixes with any consistency. They 'fix' something by trying something extreme, people complain, they take it to the other direction, they leave it that way for a while people complain some more and so on. If they just spent a good month on it, forgoing all weekly updates aside from fixes, with a few dedicated J-Mods there for feedback and communication, they could iron out the EoC in a month or so.

The prices of GWD items are going to tank lol.

Cheap nex stuff here I come.

Too bad I just bought a virtus wand and book but I'll take it if the rest of sets comes in under 20 mil in a couple of months. :P

Abilities are the same speed anyway. And overkill loss is likely not a dps increase that competes with blood neck, or a second weapon bind. Even in a hypothetical momentum-only scape, dual wield wouldn't really be better than 2h I think (unless you had binds to spare, but with momentum only you will kill stuff so slow you want the extra defence :P). The only reason dw > 2h is Destroy, but then there is a good reason for 2h > dw which is Whirlwind and Cleave.

It's probably the first time for about five years that I've criticised a BTS article. Fixes are great, but unless they are balanced with actual content it feels rather dull.

Either way, I'm not surprised, most of their resources will be going into RS3 and the two new skills.

If we get a nice juicy lump of new rewards from the duel wielding dungeoneering update it will be justified. It will be clearly justified by the obviously large overkill amount of tokens saved after you hit 120.

Also jagex is clearly showing its intent to improve visual appeal and game play ergonomics. Give them credit for their good work. There is always something to complain about, but at least showcase something positive.

And frankly why shouldn't the winner be someone who has an investment (both emotional and monetary) in the game? I would be more annoyed if someone who didn't care about RS won a trip to Jagex.

What makes you think the EoC and HTML5 teams are linked? One is entirely gameplay and mechanics, the other is completely engine-side.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

The game is always going to be a mess. And to be frank about the issue the game is just like real life in that sense. Runescape, in terms of content, is so massive that there really isn't a way to keep everything uniform and touched on. Also to turn a negative into a positive (this similarity has been used a lot), runescape beats out other games simply because of this fact. You don't necessarily get bored unless you are strict on preferences in game play. Other games offer a high anticipation for repeat concept in their material. While we might see similar mechanics the concepts eventually evolve and change... He'll mechanics eventually change too.

I'm a bit disgruntled now - I STILL don't have the darn news letter.

I mean I know they mighta had to send em in batches, but even so you'd expect everyone to get it within like 6-12hours of each other.

It's a *huge* project. By its very nature, there will probably be bugs everywhere. In any case, the majority of their efforts will be concentrated there. Then there are 2 new skills that are supposed to be coming out as well. Seems to me like they are rushing through a lot of stuff; it seems a bit too ambitious.
