  1. Sadly I can't touch the elite tasks, and this alone does not annoy me, I love having goals (although this is years off!) Although I do have a bone to pick with the elite tasks; Abyssal titans, giant pouches, and rune cross bows are nothing to do with the area, if they cannot bring elite combat from the area, it should not be in the diary! you can do these tasks pretty much anywhere. Catching a manta and the lock picking (the only ones I can actually do :P) are the only two tasks that are area specific, and are the only two that could be in the area diary.......... Back when the first diary came out, Mod Maz made a thread looking for ideas for future diary, and she had the idea of smelting a rune bar, as a task for lumbridge, but backed down after it was pointed out it has nothing to do with the area, it seems she has done the same here, but gone for it. To re state...... elite tasks are good, but they should be relevant!
  2. knowing not what it refers to I believe" journey-man" is the key to this hint.... the fact it's hyphenated and an odd choice of words in an situation makes me think about it. However I think this hint is probaly aimed as a fairy quest: the talk of little things (fairy's) journey man (mushroom rings) coin (final quest, so reward time)
  3. sadly from the 20-30 I have seen there is very little quality there so far........ although it is clear that so far it's people who have just rushed it to get an entry in ASAP. I expect (and hope) future entry will be of a higher standard.... it can be done! There are a few little good ones in that batch though, but even they could do with being tuned up a bit. I look forward till the well crafted ones start to come though!
  4. Blame the music they listen to, Blame the games they read, The films they watch, the foods they eat. Blame the schools..... just what ever you do don't blame the parents. It's a sad fact of the nanny culture the western world is in that means people can never take blame, there is always sombody else. If your child plays a game too much, yes they need to reduce it even stop, but it's not the game developers fault if a parent cannot educate their children to have a healthy life. Now I am not going to claim I had a perfect upbringing.... as I didn't and I am now trying to fix the bad habits in my life, but I will never hold responsibility outside myself and immediate family. I notice the Blog writers fear of exposure to these Fake gods, and to be honest this does speak a bit about her mentality as she cannot allow any challenges to cross her faith, which I feel is an important factor in every life and belief's. On a side note, food to restore health in games is very common place.... it seems to be on of the biggest standards in games there you can take damage..... where did it start? earliest I can think of would be Castle wolfinstein with chicken dinners.
  5. it's a holiday update.... they are never usefull.... Just for fun.
  6. Not impressed with the plate still....... price will jump up then collapse again. I have not played in too long it seems..... whats the orange blob in your equip screen mean? He borrowed the item. Ah cheers! should have know that....... although never had to borrow anything.
  7. Not impressed with the plate still....... price will jump up then collapse again. I have not played in too long it seems..... whats the orange blob in your equip screen mean?
  8. I think they will just adjust what they say rather than remove them, or move them.
  9. Yay! Player owned tree's and farm patches? :D I don't see it happening to be honest At concept stage farming was never going to be a skill, more of something you can do in your POH part of the construction skill. However firstly farming was finnished far before construction, and most importantly it dawned on the developers that they wanted player to interact outside of their houses rather than being tied up training inside.
  10. people have always fallen for things like this.... I remember it happening on several occasions. for me it was always a case of cant be bothered, as to why I never tested them. However sometime things like this are not fake...... I am sure years back after the launch of desert treasure a few people where calling those who said if you went to a certain area with a ring of visability you could do a minigame liers........ although it was true. May be gullible, but not everything is a hoax which is why people will always fall for things.
  11. I am sure that he did get some votes because he is black, and not to the same extent but I am sure McCain got some votes because he was not black......... His skin colour probaly will have made a noticeable impact on the results given the number of new voters who voted for Obama who would have otherwise left it alone. HOWEVER I don't think it won him the election. McCain was seen by most of the world as bad news, I cant recall one good story about him, whilst Obama seemed to have more substance to him He never played the race card...... and good for him! He was standing for president not black president. His views where strong and fair (in most cases) and thats why he won. A more convincing argument was that he won because he was a democrat...... any republican would have a hard time getting elected after Bush.
  12. Why does freedom of speech come up anywhere......? There is no such reality of freedom of speech..... only the perception of freedom. I am sure many people will be thinking "it's free in america" well it's not.... in fact America is more censorship than most of the western world. In Jagex products whilst there is not freedom of speech, there is defiantly freedom of opinion. It's just a controlled environment.
  13. Oooo ooooo me too! although mine is all black and white and flashy........ I managed to spam click my login screen to find the button to switch to low detail, but it seems quiet a few of us have this issue.
  14. Simon Brace and Chris Gower? There more? I stand corrected! thanks for the stats too. p.s. don't know if you know but the link to www.mechscapeworld.com in your signiture has an extra "scape" in it! :ugeek:
  15. From what I can tell he is the youngest of the Gower brothers (Andrew being 30 and Paul 32) and lived with Andrew and co in Nottingham back in the day. He was credited with doing "Graphics and 3d-modelling" as a freelancer for RuneScape Classic and later with converting the Fight Arena and Goblina Diplomacy quest to RuneScape 2. Before RuneScape he did some of the graphics for Andrew Gower's Battlezone game for the Atari ST (released under their Cunning & Devious name). Was he Brother of Cousin? (cousin rings a bell) I know he was responsible for the Player model graphics in RSC, although that's not something to be all that proud of :P Ian, Paul and Andrew as far as I am aware are the only Jagex staff members who do not have Mod at the beginning of their name, saying that though, not sure about Constant Tedder.... he may Have a Pain name account, but have never heard of reference to him playing the game. Do we know a figure for the actual annual reinvested profit for Jagex, graph format showing over several years would be interesting *Interesting trivia point* for a long time Jmod accounts where not allowed to have Andrew in the name, in response to mistaken identity, instead they often used nicknames, or initials.
  16. We would never get to play the game....... the servers can only hold 2000 people, if people who just walk off while playing are not logged out it would be full within a day.
  17. It would be expensive if the platebody didn't look like utter [bleep] I lol'd hard. And I certainly agree. Jagex made a post today (after looking at my watch... yesterday!) that hints that the plate will be redesigned, as they have said to keep the ideas coming how to improve it, so merchants are after it.
  18. I don't think I would want to see it..... but if sombody asked me, I would not say no :P Oooooo temptations! No clue from me! I was playing far too much at one point, to virtually nothing now! but have been playing since mid 2004.
  19. Good little (or not so little) post there! Happy birthday to the true Runescape god.... may your GP's be coming for long to see! ( mean gold pieces not general practitioner........ ill health would be a poor birthday wish! :P)
  20. I recon the dragon kin will fight against Lucien...... they both want the glory and power, and stand in each others way, they don't stick me as things that will make power sharing deals. Dragon kins where the gods of old, they probaly lost their powers when they lost the stone of Jas. I asume Lucien has taken the Stone somewhere unknowingly close to the kin and they are drawing from it's power. I cant see a story line in which we fight either the kin or Lucien, but can see us pitting them against each other, to start a war between them.
  21. You must be the last one in the foum to know :D I have only just got here so I claim that title for my self!!!!! (until somebody takes it away from me  )
  22. Not really..... sure they could have probaly done something, but note that he was bi-polar.... usually means allot more is going on, it's very sad and should not have happened, for once I agree it probaly was a call for help, but am not sure if the 'victim' himself realised that it was...... It's sad but I hope regulations are not brought in about it, it's an incredibly rare ignorance, and feel the world needs to have the freedom without the bureaucracy of legislation. There cant be new restrictions brought in for every event, far worse things are going on it's sad to say!
  23. Well if you think of it from how I argue the introduction, to become a sex worker you would have to be part of a government licensed brothel, and by law would need to be checked for STI's, and other major defects (open ended point there, but you get the idea) That would mean it's not a rash decision, it's a job with pay, and it's not the case like it is currently with some prostitutes where they are out of money the rent is due and have no option but to sell their bodies. By legalising it that sort of practice is all but excluded. As far as I am concerned all agreed actions between client and prostitute are 100% consensual.
  24. ...No, it means businesses that are stuck between two equally qualified candidates should choose the candidate from an ethnic minority, or in this case, the female since they're at a general disadvantage anyway. If the white male is better, than the white male gets the job. It's still as simple as that. Positive discrimination is to stop an employer choosing a white male for the simple fact he's white or male when there are better candidates for the job, as used to happen quite frequently during the 1980s and before. As it is, only one in five of MPs sitting in the House of Commons are female, when they make up half the population. The same pattern applies for most professional occupations. That's hardly representative of Britain, is it? Fair enough...... that what I get for only reading that article in the Daily (hate) mail, however it's still not something I support A, as a young white male, and B, sombody who hates any discrimination official or not offical.... Anywho.... back to prostitutes (kinda) I feel that the prostitution industry could be more respectable if correctly monitored. I would hope brothel licences are issued in a similar way to alcahol where constant check ups are needed..... the problem will always be there, and rather than hiding the festering issues they need to be tackled head on. To talk about something similar..... Abortions, abortions are legal in most western countries and they probaly would be even if a Pro Life campaigner became in charge of a country, why? because if it's not correctly monitored crime will thrive, and many will die, if sombody wanted an abortion they will probaly get it by any means, legal or not. And it's the same with prostitution...... it should be out in the public (bad wording I know)
  25. There's a Minister for Prostitution? Who? Alas there is no Prostitution minister! however it falls under the home office, and the bill I mentioned is put forward by Jacqui Smith. Jacqui Smith believes women are better than men...? Never said it (that I know of) but of what I have seen of her she is quite biased.... For example another on of her bills put through was for positive discrimination, meaning businesses should try and give jobs to everybody who is not a young white able bodied male......... (high focus on giving jobs to women)
