  1. It would be difficult to moderate this privilege. For example, player A is fighting player B. Both are in the multicombat wild. Revs crash the duel. In that case, does the dead player(s) lose(s) his items? Too hard to tell. Second, players could also use the dueling system ot circumvent extremely strong monsters if monster were programed then on to not attack dueling players. These are only a few flaws in the free-for-all-no-risk in all worlds. What about drops? They're calculated based on who does the most damage. So, if a monster does more damage, they lose items. If another player does, they don't.
  2. So your counting them, right? We are all still waiting for Jagex to finish their "random tweaking". Actually, yes. The first few I didn't, but after I noticed their frequency, I started counting. I've noticed that different randoms come in packs. You'll see a lot of the same kind at once, then another and so on and so forth.
  3. Yeah, and how does a troll drop 3 noted mackeral? My money is on the stomach of every monster in runescape being a noting machine. This allows massive food consumption at no harm to the monster. Then why don't we get noted Adventurers when we slay dragons and other large beasties? Or at least noted Adventurer Parts... In the quest it shows the warped terrorbirds talking. So we deduce they are sapient. We also see that the terrorbirds act as guards. So they must be paid. Ergo, considering the tortoise love of cabbage, we can concur that the noted cabbage are their salaries.

287 was it? I agree. I don't like slayer. Many of the tasks are boring and involve monster I'd rather not fight. The only tasks I've enjoyed are: Fire Giants, Green Dragons, and Bloodvelds. The rest are usually annoying. The thing that really ended it for me is as follows. I was using Sumona, and most of the tasks were good for someone of my level- 88 at the time, including Summoning. Then she gave me Iron Dragons. I skipped the first task with my small reserve of points. Then she gave it to me again. I was three points short, so I thought "What the hey" and did it. I killed three dragons in a single trip. True, all I brought was food, but it was so discouraging. I was forced to Burthorpe it and start the slayer cycle again. Then, once finished, I got Irons AGAIN. Burthorpe once more. I quit slaying when I hit the level for Back to My Roots. That's the ONLY reason I'm level 60 slayer. Another thing I hate is that, yes they give you more variety, the numerous monsters. Some are out of the way or annoying to get to. Greaters? Only non wildy spot with a good number is the Karamja dungeon. Brine Rats? Fremminik time! Closest bank: Keldagrim. Although, with the release of summoning, the Cockatrice is somewhat profitable. It drops limpwurts and eggs, both of which sell for like 600 or so.
  5. Odd drops? How about anything noted from a non-humanoid monster? How does a Brine Rat go to a bank and get his stuff noted?
  6. Bullcrap, I've been mining there all week and doing other things. The competition for resources simply shifts to bloodshed instead of whining. You find real skillers in the PvP worlds, fighting over resources and evading player killers. It's the epitome of the old school wilderness. What do you harvest, may I ask? See, there are some items that would be good to receive through Pking worlds, like runite, but things like fishing or woodcutting wouldn't work. It may be tempting to attack monsters in empty areas, and given the size of the world most areas ARE empty, but wouldn't it be fun to get killed by a PKer, after having been weakened by the monster, and lose not only your collected drops, but several pieces of your armor? To me, the risk for most activities outweighs the rewards. Oh, and about the teleporting idea, that'sa good! Maybe it should only take affect if you're skulled?
  7. Through missions the players can earn experience points and earn money, with which items can be bought. Just like the game Second Life, players to regular day-to-day stuff such as go to the movies or to school. [yeah I didn't get that one either] That was found in the article. Sounds like someone mixed up Club Penguin with Runescape. Really irks me when journalists write an article without adequately (or even at all) researching it.
  8. What are you on about? :| The OP seems to have very picky eating habits. I just thought I should ease his mind and make his life a little easier. O-kay... but you got it wrong! It's not maggots- it's cockroaches. They get everywhere. But even then, most foods have an extremely low content of unidentified substance. And that substance can be dirt, miscellaneous cuts of poorer meat, and stuff that just fell in. The only exception is the hot dog- it's allowed a high amount of rubbish. Remember Zoidberg- "Give me something crawling with parasites!" And now on to business. Barrows has been shown, time and time again, to be worth the cost. With the addition of the armor repair stand, it costs even less if you have even a moderately high smithing. At 99 I believe you get half off. So, going by levels, even at 50 you should get a quarter off repair costs, unless the reduction rises exponentially.
  9. Can't you just hit them with freezing spells too? Tele block, freeze, this = GG. No, then in that case this is no different from magic before. The problem with magic is that it, on its own, is too easy to escape or avoid death from. Reducing your opponent's attacking speed may help to make sure you dont die, but it does nothing more than what we had to make sure they get KOed. Sure, if you are maging a ranger, he wont be able to shoot back at you as fast and you can cast more barrages without eating, but if you are using purely magic on a ranger in dhide, chances are youll still splash way too much to KO him. If you are casting on a meleer, then there is no difference than freezing him and standing a square away...his attack speed is then irrelevant. Magic has become a still better support skill, but this does nothing to verify the mage as a pure class of its own that stands a honestly good chance of killing someone, even if they arent allowed to protect from magic. Magic is further worsened as D'hide does not affect melee stats negatively. Heck, stick some kebbit [bleep]es on the vambraces and it'll give you a bonus!
  10. In the fishing guild, randoms run non-stop. Over the course of about four hours last night, I got two drunken dwarfs, two frogs, three sandwich ladies, two mollies, a security guard, a strange plant, one MoM, two Turpentines, and about five boxes.
  11. I'm having a similar problem. Whenever I lag, it freezes and I have to refresh the page.
  12. How about a shield? Imagine- noobs running around with the Necrotelicomnicon as their shield of choice.

I'll drink to that! Although, the new items should not degrade, or should be repairable. As is, most will NEVER buy the new drops.
  14. Maybe they fought alone or for any sides? Who says they had to serve together? Oh, I have my own wacky theory about Zuriel. You know that Golem in the desert? Well, maybe Zuriel created him and the rest of the Golem army. Remember, the Golem is a figure originally from Jewish mythology. Given Zuriel's Hebrew name, there may exist a connection.
  15. you disgust me. Hmm? Why do I disgust? Fishing's origins are, quite frankly, rather obvious. Don't get me wrong ,it's my favorite skill and my second highest skill, but fishing was begun to feed people. Originally, it would consist of spear or net fishing but, as time and technology increased, would later involve things such as rods, cages, and underwater traps.

Well shoot, that sums it up. The PKers are back, so their idea of a "perfect" PK where they win and you don't returns too. I'm going to sit back and pray for an update to severely hobble players like that. So your idea of a perfect pk is for you to lose and for the person you attacked to win? I don't think you quite caught my point. I know what you said, you don't know what you said. Basically, this... ...was my point. You didn't quite see the implied fact that PKers will happily whine about anything that doesn't go their way, which was what I was getting at the entire time. You still don't know what you're saying. You accused pkers of wanting easy pks - when the pker is not using the very same things they don't want you to use. The pker isn't turning on protect melee and saying "OMG I'm the only one allowed to use this, turn yours off prayer noob!" I don't see how it's an advantage for the pker, other than not using prayer generally makes the best player win. By leaving off prayer, the odds of dieing in an encounter are around 35% by ko, turn on prayer, and NEITHER party is going to die in 95% of fights. And don't [cabbage] about how "but my combat is based on prayer, unlike ___ the pure!". Pures are a dieing breed. Pures always have prayer. And even the average impure pker, like me, don't use protects unless forced to by the other person. Our combat is raised just as much as yours by prayer. So please, just stop regurgitating the same old arguments that every skiller has spewed across the boards since they started and get something original. Here Here! I may be naught but a skiller, but I can see how very frustrating having a battle drug out with neither side winning. Its as if monsters used protect prayers as well- who would like having to have to wait for their prayer to drain just to kill a lowly fire giant?
  17. Aye. If you WERE a paying customer of course they'd he- oh wait, never mind...
  18. I don't know. I mean, he DOES live in Morytania, the place filled with ghosts, ghouls, and vampires. Plus, he could me a Mahjarrat or any other long lived race. He could even have had his life extended indefinitely through magic- this is a fantasy game. Practically nothing is far fetched.
  19. One more thing. RANDOMS. They should be removed. It was promised moths ago. If they did remove them, it would make Runescape a far better place. That's one of the things that need to go before it is fixed.
  20. They fixed it. Of course, they now control the economy, but it's pretty much been patched up. I, however, still don't like it as much as I used to. Every single update has some catch to prevent RWTs and it seems like they get more and more commercial each month.
  21. That's a good idea. And if it is ever implemented, a small area around all teleport destinations should be safe.
  22. I disagree. Say you were to kill someone wearing the best of the best PK gear. You would get no more reward than someone with a DDS and full rune. Is that really fair? His point was that you don't have to wait for a certain target anymore. You can just jump in and start massacring everyone, and it's a good strategy to do so. This time, PKing is based more around having fun. Ahh. But didn't PKers often kill random people in the Wildy who would NOT have good drops? Treasure Trailers, Dragon Slayers, Runite miners, they would not, except for the latter, usually have good drops.
  23. Now the DDS, one of my favorite weapons, will be a must carry for every PKer. Aside from the special, it has the highest melee speed of any weapon. The only one that matches is the whip.
  24. I disagree. Say you were to kill someone wearing the best of the best PK gear. You would get no more reward than someone with a DDS and full rune. Is that really fair?
  25. Idiota! Your reading skills are lacking! He's not asking for new stuff, just for people, like yourself, to stop giving F2Pers the same tired old shtick they hear every time anytime F2P and members are compared.
