  1. Prome 2h using the Berserker ring, and a prome platebody until you find a SSH. Then ditch the platebody for it.
  2. Melee still dominates the combat triangle as it has in the past years of the game. But, for practicability, just PK on a maxed main. Godswords were never useful for anything other then their specs. And even now all of the specs have pretty much been outdated by newer weapons. Unless you're a maxed main with turmoil and vengeance, you'll get chewed up and spit out by maxed specialized pures and tanks.
  3. That's so rare it's not even worth considering. OT: Only trim-able armor is Dragon(And the amulet of fury). Though that requires both the armor piece, and a trimming kit. Though the finish product is untradable, but the trimming kit can be taken off at any time and re-sold.
  4. Happen a few days ago, but hadn't a chance to upload until now  Went with Kandy and Draggles to Bandos and got this. Ironically, since i failed with my tort Gaar melee'd me. I ROL'ed out and was gone for a good 15 mins. I came back with a wealth instead, and as soon as a leech crasher came, i got a drop(One of only five-ish) and it so happen to be a BCP. Again, one of the few kills i got in one our previous trips yielded a BCP also. Possibly i have luck that has yet to shine though? Either way, a free 7.5M isn't bad for one bandos trip. Oh, and i got 250-ish K worth of yew logs from the rare drop table. Oh, and my biggest achievement in a while: Thanks to Dungoneering with Kandy and the HYT chat(and some DGS) i managed to get my rapier. I didn't even plan to go for it until i went though a large with Kandy one day and got hooked on Dungoneering. I have a feeling it won't be long before i get my second chaotic also. A pretty productive week in RuneScape if i do say so myself.
  5. And except for when the phrase "do not have" exists between "companies" and "moral values" Anyway, bots are everywhere. Even places where you wouldn't think they would be. I believe it's only a matter of time until they make bots that even have herb runs built into their routine every hour and a half and other complex things. As for reporting them, realistically you could sit there for hours on end reporting bots. But at the same time, you could add one of those bots you reported(One that has private on for whatever reason) and watch it be logged in almost constantly for the next two weeks. With no evidence of action being taken against it. Simply put, Jagex(Just About Gaming Experience) does not give two [cabbage]s about our gaming experience anymore. However the worst part is that they act like they care. Hence the free trade/wild brought back. But i believe it did just as much damage as it did fix. Out with the statues inflating the market, in with the surplus bots crashing certain materials/items, and PKing recirculation crashing others. Wild/free trade essentially just created a double-edged sword. I still think that a RuneScape 3 is one of the only courses of action. Of course an almighty bot-banner-omatic would be better, but based on Jagex's recent bluffings, that sounds unrealistic. With a new game engine(Perhaps something that isn't java based), and completely new workings(Something that wouldn't be so easy to make scrips for), Jagex might be able to level-out the bot created to bot stomped ratio. Of course that last part is just speculation. I have no clue how well a new game engine would work...
  6. False. It does not work with non-combat skills. It's actually rather easy to test. Just drink a non-combat boosting item, wait for it to drop, then right after, drink it again and start a stop watch. Record the time, and repeat with the prayer activated. With how easy it is to test, I'm sure the fact that it doesn't work with non-combat skills has been widely tested and proved.
  7. Previous thread reference *Dun-dun-da-da-da* OT: Mage. Tank armor while trying to keep your attack bonus around 0.
  8. Ccbow unless you mage A LOT. In which case a Chaotic Staff. Rigour is a close second.
  9. It's a stuck curse/sap/leech prayer. It happens sometimes when people die. In this case, someone died and spawned at edgy. The most i've seen it happen at was the dueling arena.
  10. I'm kinda wondering this myself. I mean, the story is sad and all and if it wasn't this kid, it would have most likely been another. But with that aside, are kids really so stupid these days? Now, i've always grown up to be a skeptical person. I always think the worst case scenario, and always think things through twice. So what I'm wondering is that the way kids are supposed to be? Or is that just me? I think kids should at least have some common sense when it comes to people online since the internet is too widely available to block them from it all together. He had to have at least seen a picture of the guy before meeting him. His face has creep written all over it. Even at 13 that's the first thing i would have thought.
  11. We were scoping out fallback locations for my sister's wedding in case our current choice didn't work(Back in the woods, behind our house). But there was a playground, so we decided to mess around. And we took a picture. Going from left to right, Joey of course isn't paying attention, I'm sporting my new green plaid shirt, and Liz and Lizzi are lookin' good. They're good at this picture thing. Me and Joey, however, are not.
  12. Yes, yes, 1000 times yes. But we all know that won't happen <_<
  13. It's about a 20 extra magic defense. Which can be pretty significant in the long run. I guess it depends on how long you're going to use it. But with that part aside, where would you be tanking range in karil's?
  14. Sara sword. It's true that the higher accuracy helps hit more often on the monkey guards, because of their high defense. But that doesn't justify the almost twice as slow speed. I can train there effectively with a SS and 70 attack. I'm sure you can easily with 75.
  15. I don't think NikolaiH is aware of how Barbarian fishing works. Iirc, alching doesn't interrupt fishing, so you don't need to re-click the fishing spot. Thus you're able to keep your mouse in one spot, only needing one action. And if something like this was considered botting, i would have been banned long ago. Since i've have had a gaming pad with my arrow and function keys bound to it. And since i've been using it for years now, i think you're safe.
  16. I think it's a little too unbelievably obvious to fall for. And it seems like it's targeting fansites that have a play status option. Like TIF.
  17. Tl;dr. Just replying to the original post. Kiting is useful in a lot of situations. Such as hybriding, SGW, and the fight caves. However, in PvP, it poses a problem. You see, edgevill PKers are very delicate creatures. They will whine and put on protection prayers if you make the fight anything other then: Eat... attack... shark-brew, restore, re-pot... attack... eat... prayer pot... attack... eat... out of food... tele... And i believe the reason kiting didn't catch on in edge PKing in the first place was because it took too much effort, and if you make a timing mistake and your godsword(Or what ever weapon) swing comes late, you feel like you just wasted SO much time. And just resort to fighting normally for fear of not being able to "out DPS" your opponent(Or at least that's how my brain works  ). However, in hybrid fights, things are already so fast paced that people won't even bother/have time to whine if they don't like something you're doing. And plus, protection prayers are fairly easy to get around in hybrid fights if you're good.
  18. Oh. Didn't know that
  19. For DGS it's about efficiency. We're actually pretty lucky that they're even around. If they weren't, we'd be stuck at W117 or doing it with friends. The least we can do is play by their rules. And dungeoneering is a very 100% attention skill. So i don't know what to tell you about that.
  20. but can you still profit while using it even without getting a brother's item??? If you use Barrage along side of side-stepping and black salamander, you should be good. Combining the two methods enables you to stay at barrows for a while, limiting how much supplies you need.
  21. I made the same mistake and bought like 500 phoenix feathers off the GE >.> The untradable desert phoenix feathers are the ones you want. Meaning you'll have to farm them yourself. It isn't too hard though, i managed to get 500 of them fairly quickly. And with the scroll of cleansing, you save a decent amount of them while making the potions.
  22. Either you've been told about DGS by someone who is bitter towards them, or DGS has taken a turn for the worst  It's true that you best get 70 dungoneering before going in there, because the keyers won't go out of their way to do floors that you have open. Rather they state what floors they doing, and take whoever can do them. And in the 70s is where their "worth it" floors begin. And they do advise doing some W117 keying to get some general knowledge about how Dungoneering works, but the clan was originally established to help people understand the finer points of Dungoneering and become somewhat efficient themselves. I'm sure there is a limit to how much they can take with players not listening/doing the wrong things. But if you just listen to the keyer and do as they say, you should be fine. Oh, and a lot of the keyers at DGS are efficiency-crazed people. That's why we love em'
  23. Could you be a bit more specific? Doing RFD for Barrows gloves would be ideal. The current gloves you have are about equal to a Regeneration bracelet(If you want to nit pick, the Regen brace has +1 more in melee attack bonuses and doubles your Lifepoint regeneration rate, while the addy gloves have +1 more in all defense bonuses). Other then that, for a ring you might want to pick up a Berserker ring to increase your DPS, and maybe complete the Ardy diary 2(3 if you can) to get that cape. It has a +4 prayer, stab, and magic bonus. I personally find those boosts generally more useful to have then +9 in all defense bonuses. Saving money for a Amulet of Fury will also boost your general DPS and defense. I could mention the more "elite" gear, like fire capes/soulwars capes, and rapiers. But people generally don't go for those until later. It seems that covers everything.
  24. well i just brought 10kflax and am spinning it to lvl craft +make money, i will make about 120g from each flax spun and i spent 600k so im expecting to get back about 1.3m, i know it will take a while but then i will have 3.5m and i can buy some equips to go dragons :) That's a good choice. Dragons are far superior money then any gather skills. And a little side advice, most people on this forum will tell you that godswords are obsolete(Bar a few nitch uses). So buying one isn't too good of an idea. That money would be better spent on a Berserker ring to use along side of your whip. ok its just i thought gs was best for gwd, but is whip dfs better? also whats a good spec wep and whats a good strength lvler Whip + dragon defender is best for all basic fighting. Eventually a Chaotic Rapier when you can bring yourself to Dungeoneer enough for it. Specialized things like DFS'es and such have very few, nitch uses. None of which i think you'll be doing at your level. And more and more people are using Whips at godwars instead of godswords(Chaotics are of course better, but I'm mainly focusing on people without them) since the dragon defender further adds to the whip's accuracy. As for dragon killing, since you don't have 85 herblore for super antifires, a DFS would be ideal. But that money would be more useful put into another skill(Prayer, herblore) or a Amulet of Fury. For a spec weapon, a DDS would be best for you. More ideal spec weapons like claws and enhanced Excalibur are a bit out of reach with your levels and budget. And for Strength training, the best would be to pick up a Saradomin Sword and training with it. The best training spots would be slayer(15% boost from a black mask, experience in multiple skills. Like summoning, slayer, and the combats your training), Ankou, and armored zombies. The latter if which requires you to finish Defender of Varrock. And if you're killing anything undead, be sure to use a Salve amulet(Preferably enchanted, received after the Haunted Mine quest).
  25. It's pretty easily explained: More people have gotten worth-it runecrafting levels over time though effgies and the such. Not to mention that new ways to get to the nature altar have slowly lowered the prices of natures. Limiting x2 natures runecrafting's profits. As for slaying, it used to be moderate cash(Only because it took so freaking long to train and the cash just builds up >.>) due to whips and other unique drops. However, upon the dawn of free trade returning and the old/new wild, whips were no longer lost on death. Thus causing the price to drop. And once the price dropped, more people started risking them. Causing the price to drop more. Good money makers right now are things like Nex(Reserved for elites with maxed levels and gear, though) Frosts, and TDs(The more stable incomes) and other bosshunting. Which aren't as predictable as far as income goes. And notice that all these money makers make over and above what the old "best moneymaker" was(x2 natures). Causing some inflation. Times change. Most money making methods are combat-based these days. And the other ones that are good money, don't even give any exp(Making unfins, collecting fungus/ect). I remember when my friend was rich because she constantly cut yews. She bought me some Guthix armor for my birthday with her overflowing monument of cash(By overflowing, i mean 5M). Oh those were the days. </endnostalgia>
