I think the stat resets are something permanent, that you can't pay to reverse. This would discourage people from botting on their main, even if they spend the money to get it back, some of their stats have been wiped, destroying the point of botting in the first place. I think this would have a beneficial affect on the game, honestly. It allows banned players a second chance at redemption at a price, but that same price drives away someone "playing" (botting) Runescape for profit. While this alone won't help crack down on bots, I'm sure it won't make it any easier for them to propogate. If Jagex handles this well, it could work out to benefit the game as a whole. I wouldn't put it past them, they do think things out more than some give them credit for. I agree with you, and i knew that there would be no point in botting after buying your account back. As I'm pretty sure you would be under some sort of watch for suspicious behavior. Thus discouraging it. But i personally believe it's a second chance they shouldn't get the privileged to have. I still stand firmly that if a account has solid evidence against it in the case of botting, it should be permanently banned. But this method doesn't profit, so i doubt the system will go back to this. With how money-grubbing jamflex has become.

Honestly, with the whole jagex resetting botted stats thing, i didn't think they were out for money. I just thought it was another stupid thing that they did that they thought would remedy the problem somehow. But now I'm pretty sure that this is just going to encourage people to bot on their main accounts. Where previously most people wouldn't risk their main account getting banned, and just do it on a pure to get it up to a PKing level. Now they'll be like "Oh, my account is banned. Time to pay twenty-five bucks and get it back."(Assuming that the buyback price is relatively low) Plus it'll just bring new annoying pures to the wild that have specific items at low stats(EG: The 10 def pure with turmoil i heard about on another thread) if they just reset stats, and make it easy for players to recovered their banned botted accounts, these rule-broken pures will be a much more common sight. I could maybe see if the buyback price was around 100$ that it would discourage players, but you never know. People will do crazy things for their pixels. I have lost severe respect for Jagex over the last few years. And this is doing nothing but making me hate them more. Apparently they're just another company that wants to milk money out of their game in as many ways as possible. Heh. I remember a FAQ that a player asked Jagex if they would start doing things for extra money like selling items for real money/ect. If i remember correctly, their reply was something to the tune of "Absolutely not! In fact, Jagex stands for Just About Gaming Experience." Ha. What a load of [cabbage].

This. Plus, free trade has kinda shocked the GE from my understanding. A few things are crashing, while other things are rising, and some are staying put. My guess is that players are still getting used to the GE with free trade back.

Earths with the earth runecrafting gloves is really good exp. But, it heavily depends on if you enjoy FoG or not.

As a side suggestion, if you high alch along side of growing herbs, you will almost definitely break even.

Aren't bots going to drop the prices of items such as dragon bones (theoretically)? Bots have been dropping the prices of dragon bones for a while now. But as it stands currently, getting to and from green dragons in the chaos tunnels is a bit more risky. Plus the other green dragons are in the wild, wide open to PKers that prey on 3 iteming bots. If this effects bone prices or not, we have yet to tell. Some say it will cause them to rise, but predicting the market is hard.

Wait, i don't really get the concept of this post. Are you complaining about getting 3 less days since this month has 28 days when last month had 31? Those three days are only like... fifty cents worth of membership? Cry moar plz?

I checked first thing i woke up today. I was extremely paranoid that Jagex would ruin the spot. Kinda nice that it's so easy to go straight to my training spot from Varrock. So since it's instanced now i can train while watching TV without people saying "Bot?" every ten minutes. Do like. No need to find new spots.

The login screen and lobby screen are the same. It seems certain framework is shifted up. It has JUST started happening today. It happens in both the RuneScape client and in Firefox.

I don't know exactly how to rate your effectiveness. It's kinda something you just have to find out for yourself. But with that being said, I'd say get a better spec weapon. EEE is good, but really only for healing on things like monster hunting and slayer. Not for duels or anything of the PvP sort. Maybe use a hand cannon for spec instead? It is really only one of the good range spec weapons. Aside from the Zcbow. But it only works well if they're using quite a few prayers and are wearing a few god items. As for the darkbow, i've tried using it as a spec weapon on my range tank, and i just couldn't quite nail a quick switch for some reason. Maybe i was just unlucky. You'll have to be quick with arrow and bow switch + be able to hotkey to the attack style window for a quick special for any of them. Oh, and if you're planning on hybriding, i would recommend getting 75 attack and using a Staff of Light. Plus, a little dungeoneering for an arcane stream, scroll of Rigour, and maybe even a Chaotic Crossbow wouldn't hurt.

Yes, they do degrade faster in combat as they give Constitution exp. And also, yes. They do work with non-combat spells. Ones like string jewelery, plank make, alching, ect are the suggested ways to use them. Basically any way you would train magic with non-combat normally.

I would recommend swordies actually. They're a bit faster exp, and if you're aiming for 99 and cook rocktails from (95 i think?) to 99, you'll profit anyway. But, if you're just going for 90, then i think you might just want to do monks since i believe they profit/lose very little.

Gravestones are still going to be in effect outside of the wilderness. OT: Has pretty much been covered. Nex is definitely the hardest boss to date. I'm pretty sure even now people are still fine tuning tactics to take her down efficiently.

Alright, i re-ran the deep system scan and the viruses didn't turn up(Reason i re-ran the scanner was to get the locations of the viruses again). Could it be that they're somehow evading the anti virus this time around? Or could the program really had gotten rid of them and just glitched and said it didn't? :blink: I think just to be safe I'll do an online scan, and I'll do another scan in safe mode. Suggested online scans?

On my laptop, Bitdefender runs anti virus every night. When i woke up this morning, i noticed it had two viruses that it wouldn't delete. So, i tried moving them to quarantine. It couldn't do that either. Then i tried updating the program, then running the scan again. But Bitdefender was up to date with the latest version. I really don't want to log into RS today in case there's a chance of this thing grabbing my login name and password. So, how do i go about getting rid of these? I don't want to manually delete them, because one of them is in the WINDOWS folder, and deleting it might have adverse effects on the computer... As for people who are going to tell me to not use bitdefender, i agree. I actually have Windows total security on my desktop as bitdefender simply takes up too many resources for these ancient machines. But technically it's my dad's laptop, and he won't let me put any other sort of anti virus program on it. So, I'm stuck here. Anyone have any suggestions?

Anyway, i was able to start up a 1v1 game with my friend a while ago to do some maxing. So, i imagine that 1v1 is still possible. You just need to be careful of people who find your world and want to try and crash it. So bring some ancients, and if there aren't too many of them, you should be fine protecting the score. Pro after edit: No risk, no reward. I'll either figure something out, or I won't. I don't gain anything from not trying. anyways nobody has answered my question about whether you can join a game that's already started if nobody leaves. Lets say a game starts with 2 players on Z team, 1 on S team. Can someone join the S team after the game starts? or would someone have to leave the Z/S team for a new player to join. I've never gotten someone joining while I'm in the middle of a 1v1 game, but then again i haven't done too many of them. But, considering logic, both teams have even players, so i don't think that it would let anymore in.

Heh. 2nd 99 within two months time. Funny, i've been playing on the same account for about 5~ years now, and i just got my first 99 two months ago. And here i am, with my second, and 2 levels away from my 3rd, lol. Only thing that keeps me sane is extreme afk-ability while i watch a movie or something ;)

What is wrong with you man? You've been giving really bad advice in H&A over the last few days :| Just about everything outclasses godswords. They were never useful for DPS. Only for spec. And now most of their specials are outclassed by new things. Only real use for one is the BGS's def reducing special at corp. Anyway, I'm gonna get on topic: It really depends on what you do the most. I bought claws a while ago, and figured out that i couldn't go without them when i sold them for Turmoil. Then i bought them back when i finally earned the money. They're pretty much a staple in my armory until something better that is actually affordable comes along. But it really is different for everyone. If you slay, then i would say you should stick to a healing spec weapon. Specifically an EE or EEE. Claws might be worth it when you have soulsplit and are on a fero task. But other then that, the extra DPS doesn't justify the money spent that could go to better uses. But, for certain boss hunting or PvP, that's where they really shine. Other then that, i would say do what Quyneax said and borrow a pair off a friend to see exactly how much you like them.

To me, certain pures develop a "ideal" gear setup. And those tend to look real appealing(Well, at least to me). In your case, something like this would look pretty cool: Bear head Fury Iron platebody Black D'hide chaps Climber boots Regen bracelet/Adamant gloves 99 Strength cape(Could be substituted for a Ardy cloak 2) Unholy book DDS/D scimmy Personally, that setup just looks plain epic to me for a pure with 1 def/1 prayer. But that's just my opinion :grin:

If you don;t have a famialr or a pouch or a scroll ith you in ANY pvp conext it dispalys your combat without summoning. so this argument is invalid. Eg my combat is 121, but as soon as i go to a pk world or a pvp game (eg duel arena) my combat becomes 112 (displays as 112 + 9 to forewarn ppl my level is 9 higher if i have summons). Until I grab a pouch, special scroll or summon a famialr then it will display as 121 in pvp zones. Please know what you're talking about before you start giving misleading advice. It's COMPLETELY different in safe PvP. In all safe PvP zones(Clan wars, Castle wars, Dueling Arena, ect) your right-click combat includes summoning regardless if you possess a pouch or are in control of a familiar. I even tested this myself right before making this post.

I can understand what he means. It can be hard to get fights around your real combat level in the dueling arena when you have summoning. Because for every fight you would have to tell someone your summoning level and go through all that. It doesn't seem like much, but in the end it can amount up to be a real hassle. But, since you can't burst nechs, i would still recommend rock lobs actually. You just collect the charms, but don't use them. So if in the future you find PKing in the wild more fun, you have a lot of charms to raise your summoning if you so wish to.

I'm sure you keep them... Because if you lost them, I'm sure people wouldn't use the surge box, or would complain about it?
