Deaf or Blind?

I was looking at the post asking if Blind people have dreams and saw someone say they'd rather be blind then deaf because they like listening to music. I was thinking I'd rather be deaf then blind. I'd rather be able to see stuff and my surroundings then not hear. So, would you rather be deaf or blind? Make sure to post WHY as well, so it's not all spamming.

So, basically, you are born with a choice of either being Deaf... or Blind. You have to chose one because there is no not being either. Choose wisely people ;)

Music is my greatest passion in life, but even then I'd still rather be deaf. If Beethoven could get around it, I reckon I can give it a go. Not being able to see the face of the person (people) I love would be unimaginable. I would sorely miss my hearing, however.

Deaf, if you were blind you wouldn't know when to stop wiping  .

Being deaf you could still chat on the internet and do many things I already do. I guess I could learn sign language of have people write stuff on paper.

Being blind would be terrible. I would be afraid to walk around and even though I could hear things, it wouldn't be the same without being able to look at the person talking.

I would rather be deaf than blind becuase you can teach yourself to understand others, whilst being blind you are missing alot out of life..

But would it be from birth? Because If it wasn't you'd still be able to speak the same.

The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.

It might depend. In the time we live in now, our sight is probably one of the main things ever used. However it is possible, but unlikely our sight isn't used as much as it is now.

I'd still go with deaf at present day, I'd give 10-15 years I could hear artificially.

Beethoven coulnd't hear the music, he played by the vibrations off the piano. So I dont know if it'd work for you :anxious: .

Anyways, I'd rather be deaf. I don't play rs with the sound on :) . I could live without music and I wish I had an excuse to not talk on the phone so much  .

I'm well aware. I just thought a little joke might be... Funny. Not hysterical funny, more of an amused snort.

I'd rather be deaf because it's not that bad. I was born with hearing loss, and when I take out my hearing aids, it's really hard to hear people, but I get by on lip reading and other things. :P I can't imagine not being able to see people, though. Not being able to see anything, just blackness... all the time... I feel bad for them. :(

That was me that said that haha

But I think I would still go with being def over blind. Both would be scary things to live without (if you lost it suddenly in life, not if you were born that way). But I'd rather be able to see my surroundings and get around, its a much more important ability than hearing.
