Yip

That time it takes to go around the fence is usually used sending a message out to a friend without having to break off in mid sentence to click my character to move further forward.

CLICK - 770th to 99 SLAYER 2/4/08 - 204th to 99 Summoning 7/1/08 CLICK

i still think draynor is closer, the curves shouldnt matter that much... or maybe they just make it the same distance? lol

Take your time to post on my blog please!

Open up your hate and let it flow into me, madness is the gift that has been given to me...

There is one major reason level 3 austos would use the Draynor route.

The Falador route means contact with the highwaymen.

As for curves & corners, matters not one jot if you have a good waypoint, so the fiddly part of the route is AI navigated.

A route with fewer, longer waypoints needed also gives time to message, look at skill XP or gulp a drink.

Have any of you herd of a watch. Try timming your self on a couple trips to each bank. When I did that I found that draynor was at least 5-10 secs faster EACH way. And on paper Draynor is MUCH closer as well.

The Runescape Database (which I hoped would shed some light on the fact) only said that -

~ Though there is no bank in Port Sarim, it is only a short walk to Draynor or Falador, both of which are blessed with banking facilities.

why do I always find the RS Database useless...?

Draynor is closer on paper, but has curves. Macroers probably go to Draynor because it's mostly filled with newbs/noobs. Therefore, they won't get reported as much

why not use a glory to draynor ? (dont say your f2p if you are pay for p2p) or bank at pc - then i supose ud make a pc/glory thread lol

-on topic-

i think draynor is closer/faster/easyer as you click on the other side the fence and dont have to click 100 times to get there

completely off topic, but wouldnt a bank in port sarim be better than one in draynor or two in fally?

My Goal Signature

Techinically speaking Draynor is closer.

From this map (below) it appears by using the shortest routes that Draynor is closer, but when I walk it in timing - Falador is closer.

You only went faster to fally because there is nothing in your way that your character has to take that extra second to get around such as the fence..

A route with fewer, longer waypoints needed also gives time to message, look at skill XP or gulp a drink.

Yes.

Kinda OT, but all players can use the Shantay bank (even F2P)

and then use the free teleport to the Port Sarim jail.

So, that might work for the return trip

but getting to Shantay quickly could be slow.

Hmm, Home (Lumby) tele and walk to Shantay

or maybe Duel arena (P2P only) teleport then walk to Shantay.

Probably won't work that well but, just wondering...

Don't the macros usually go to Draynor though? Maybe they know something we don't....

The main reason they go to draynor is there are no aggressive monsters between port sarim and draynor.

I have always used draynor, but looking at the map, fally might actually be closer. So I'm gonna go with Fally.

perfect grammar is one thing, typing like a drugged monkey and enjoying it is another

AMEN!

Don't the macros usually go to Draynor though? Maybe they know something we don't....

There is a highwayman in the middle of the path between Port Sarim and Falador. I say Draynor is better, though.

The problem with some of those maps is that your character only walks in the 8 cardinal directions (N, NW, W, SW, S, SE, E and NE). Won't walk in 60 degree angles or whatever. So you have to graph based on actually walking the path and seeing how the character walks.

I've always used Falador since it was MUCH MUCH closer then Draynor bank in RSC. I grew accustomed to it and that's the way I still travel :)

Draynor bank booth to karamja customs:

Both of these were timed without running.

falador...but draynor is easier because once the loading is done for the other side you can just click near the willow trees and your character does all the walking

signature your as this use backwards this read to enough smart were you if

even i have the misfile craze!!!

I think the Draynor bank is closer.

I'm a F2P player. When I fish lobsters on Karamja my banking trip was:

Teleport from Karamja lobster dock to Lumby, walk to Al-Kharid, bank, walk to Shantay

(could use his bank too if you wanted), get Shantay to teleport you to

the Port Sarim jail, "F2P pick lock", and then walk to the Dock.

So, it's a "walk half way" trip overall and a bit of a walk from Lumby

to Shantay but the rest is kinda fun to do.

Don't the macros usually go to Draynor though? Maybe they know something we don't....

The main reason they go to draynor is there are no aggressive monsters between port sarim and draynor.

I knew that... lol forgot about the highwaymen :wall:

Anyway, I might start using the Draynor route for the lower amount of clicking. Never really thought about that.

Leapfrog229.gif

I guess cause I never saw the need. I also felt that if I moved into the version of the game that was always changing that it would in some way invalidate the work that I had already put into my account.

I personally would use draynor, but I haven't run any time tests or anything. It just seems like common sense :?

I go by less clicks because honestly the more my character walks without me having to pay finite attention to him is best. I use draynor because you can click on the other side of the fence and your character will walk the rest of the way around the fence. With Falador it is constant clicking. No thank you sir. Besides if you want to train fishing pay $5 a month and got to Catherby. Get a job and work for 5.25 or whatever minimum wage is, work 20 hours a week, pay for Runescape, fish in Catherby, and still make more experiance a week. Good game F2p.

Ive always used Draynor, I think Fally may be closer though if you run the whole way. :-k

Autoers usually take any path, it doesn't matter which is closest because they will always be getting tons of logs anyway.
