Seb9371
It seems that Party Pete was so busy partying that he forgot to inform everyone of a change to his Party Room! You see, Party Pete is on a life-long mission to bring the 'party' to everyone on RuneScape, so he has developed an unlikely partnership with the Bank of RuneScape. Through this alliance, he believes that the 'party' will spread like wildfire. Now, when the Party Room lever has been pulled, different things will happen according to the market value of the items in the party chest: * A value of up to 50k: there is a 10 second delay before the balloons drop. * 50k - 150k: there is a 1 minute delay before the balloons drop. The Falador bankers and Party Room barmaids will announce that a party is happening. * 150k - 1 million: there is a 5 minute delay before the balloons drop. The Falador men and women, bankers and Party Room barmaids will announce that a party is happening. * 1 million+ : there is a 10 minute delay before the balloons drop. The Falador men and women, bankers and Party Room barmaids will announce that a party is happening. Nearly all the bankers across RuneScape will also announce that a party is happening, and will offer free teleports to the Party Room. The bankers have entered into this agreement as they believe it will stop the Party Room being used as a means of transferring wealth covertly. I personally think this is a positive update, in a certain way. But however, we will always be interrupted by newbies who will get teleported to our private party Discuss. icecube
It seems pretty good but I still don't like the whole "NPC's screaming out party" system. But if it stops RWT, I suppose isn't too bad. They're really cracking down on RWT now aren't they?
BabyPunchers
its another way to stop RWT. Only this one actually sounds well done. SirHartlar
I think the free teleports is a bit much, otherwise a good update.
Fudgy999
The Death of Real World Trading (And PKing) (And Dueling) (And Merching) Is upon us! :D :D :D Explanation: 1.Duel Arena Updates - They made the duel arena back into what it used to be, a place to use your best armour and fight each other without losing items. (And to stop stakers getting 5357356364 Masks) 2. Grand Exchange - They limit prices so nobody can charge exceptionally low for real life trading, or charge very high to transfer large amounts of cash. 3. Party Place - Announcing to the banks how much is being dropped and easy access to get there, people can no longer RL trade thier either :) So, whats the only three ways to transfer items unbalanced now? - Trading - Drop Trading - PKing Trading - I think they will make it so trades have to be balanced, but that of course will nerf lending items to genuine friends so I hope they will accomidate for this. Drop Trading - Make it so you can only destroy items? or have drop partys in set locations? PKing - Not sure on what they'd to do this Whatpulse! Hippodo
I understand why this helps against RWT, but your party shouldnt be accessable for every noob and mercher in the whole of Gielenor! Due to my epic stats, I have now started WGS (but I still hate spoilers).
misterxman
Nice idea but I am surprised Jagex hasn't updated the wilderness so you can't bring more gp into the wilderness - it's an easy and effective update. Not like people need to bring gp into wildy (maybe put a cap to 3k so you can still buy pizzas from bandits spot). Zuit
i dont really like this update as it lets allmost everyone know that you are haveing a party which would be a pain if you only wanted a few people there
Fudgy999
Mister, I think they will... But it won't cap GP... It'll be value of items to stop them buying items and getitng killed to switch em across. Whatpulse!

qeltar
Yep.. PKing is next. And then hoo boy, you are going to hear a lot of hollering. And the price drops on skill outputs we see now will be nothing by comparison. SwreeTak
Thank you very much Jagex :D. Now there will be a lot more drop parties for me . But a lot of newbs and noobs will come to my and my friends drop parties...But I think it's worth it. Good update :) Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
legilgalad2
Sounds like a good update to me. Haven't seen how annoying the bankers hollering can be though as I'm going to be on Crandor for a while. However it looks like the end of 'Private' F2p parties in the Party Room. Woodcutting does not raise your combat level because most people do not play as yew trees.
LordSmiloid
This will be a huge blow to private parties. I've been to a few parties where a high-level friend was going away and dropped a large amount of items. Now every noob and beggar is going to be invited to Falador to grab the loot. The free teleport is definitely overkill, if someone was interested they could teleport there, it would prevent noobs from gaining easy access to private parties. Also, the increasingly long delay can be a serious party killer - most people start with the drop and then celebrate, but now they'll be dawdling for ten minutes before the balloons come down. mr_invisable
I might have seen this the other day even tho they announced it today. Im almost certain i saw a banker yelling "240k party at the party room" yesterday. They did mention that party pete forgot to tell us but im not sure. pk_stinker
Can you run private drop parties in your house? (never tried)??? Try my fully-graphical RuneScape Equipment Bonus Calculator at http://www.copperdragon.org/
Peronix
Ok great, now the party room is officially useless for small parties... once you put in 10m+ and pull the lever now every noob and beggar from throughout RuneScape that was near a banker will appear in a matter of seconds. ktmcf121
private drop parties = house parties always. i never use the party room unless i actually don't care who gets the items. i thought the bankers in fally have always announced the parties anyway... Marco
I welcome this update firstly because it makes sense in terms on cutting down Real World Trading, and secondly because Jagex actually came out with their reasoning for the decision in the actual news itself; The bankers have entered into this agreement as they believe it will stop the Party Room being used as a means of transferring wealth covertly. I assume they learnt their lesson with the whole Duel Arena change ranting where they suggested that the decision to bring in the 3k limit was to encourage the tournament mode, when in actual fact it was all for RWT. From now on if you want to have a small party with some of your closest friends without the whole server knowing you'll just have to use the old 'Drop Party' method.
jedidude77
very smart idea on Jagex's part, luckily i'm not a fan of private parties, not that they exist anymore. There's no such thing as "wireless." Just really long extension cords.

sir_molk
Not very interesting update for me, as I never even go close to the party room, but isn't the free tele and 10 min waiting a little bit too much?
