I dont like the new skins. :(

I had just gotten used to the previous one. Can there be an option to go back to those?

Well look on the bright side, its not as bad as the last big dataloss we had. (ScapeBoard)

Your right about that. I can get used to this, but won't like them very much. It'll just have to be something I deal with.

And guess what, it is already partially fixed. Re-Check your options for themes. They're already trying to add some in. 8-)

Alright I'll go check it out. Do you mean the different background colors or something different?

And whats with the 3 quote max? Shouldn't hiding quote tree's suffice?

EDIT: Yay I found the skin. Now I'm happy :D

I'm starting to like the newer skin better #-o When I went back to the original one it seemed way too bright lol. Guess my complaining was for naught. Good job on the skins guys.

That's a shame about those posts and all that money :/

Very decent of you covering up that money. I hope we the Tip It forums users can make it worthwhile with our posts as the forums continue to grow.

I hope that tech would get his comeupins.

New forums look good though. And are much faster for me :)

Thank you for all your hard work. That goes to all the TIF staff :)

Any chance of being able to choose if we can go back to the original skin that was created for the new updated forums, right after the data loss.

Yeah, you can choose from 3 skins including the old one. Go to User control panel -> Board preferences and you should see something like "Board style" and a drop down box. There's Subsilver, a new one (But not new to these forums!) then there's tipit_style or something which is most likely the one you're using, then there's Prosilver, the one that tip.it used right after the rollback.

Tip.it got owned.

Though, imo tif had been getting a little cocky the last few months, Mabye a rude awakening was in order? #-o

Why are you talking about an Internet messageboard like you would a real person.

Not keeping regular backups!

who would have thought this could ever happen?

TIF really was asking for it, keeping backups is a no brainer especially with this type of software.

No one deserves to lose data but anyone with half a clue about computers knows that dataloss happens.

That being said it could be worse I've seen people lose years of data in the past.

How on earth were we getting cocky? There was nothing out of the ordinary going on when this happened. :|

Anyway, love the new skin. ;)

In case you didn't know, all the backups were deleted as well during the attack. And yes, the boards are regularly updated *gasp*. Get your facts right next time please.

And please enlighten us. How exactly were we getting cocky and asking for it? I'm very eager to know...

I wouldn't normally criticise because overall these forums are run well and provide a good service but it is frustrating to see people not do proper backups the fact that it's possible for the backup to be deleted shows that it wasn't done properly.

Ive lost site's in the past due to asshats and wouldn't wish it on anyone but the extra bandwidth required to download the backup from the server is well worth it, especially if the data is worth thousands of dollars.

We all make mistakes and learn from them. I would say the better term is that we where comfortable. However, as mentioned, we where back stabbed. I don't think backstabbed is even a good term, I would say that we where backstabbed with a chainsaw. Yes there where mistakes but those mistakes will happen again. Trust was broken.

I think a good way to explain it is that Tip.it is a body. We have eyes, ears, a mouth and all our body parts. These all work in unison to keep the body alive. This would be the admins, crew, mods, tet and the community. However sometime a body part goes wrong even though it worked perfectly fine in the past. A tonsil for example. We went surgery and are back together but now are in the recovery process. As we recover we start feeling better than before and realize, hey, this has been plaguing me for quite a while and I never realized it! We heal to become a greater person!

Nothing short of a world wide nuclear strike can kill Tip.it! And It is not because of the staff! It is because of you! The people and life-blood of the community that gives life to the staff to keep going! Yes we had hard times and will in the future. But we will always learn and make sure that the hard time previously encountered will not happen again!
