Cleaned the bedroom and re-arranged everything, all looks nice a neat now, and I'm gunna buy myself a Bonsai tree to freshen the place up a bit. Need a plant in 'ere to freshen it up. On Friday I afternoon I went to Karaoke with some friends, was fun as usual and had a good time, then afterwards me and Dave went to stay in the Hilton in Manchester :D It was a surprise he set up for me, booked us an executive room, the most expensive double room they do, for one night. It was amazing. I've never really stayed at a hotel like that before. The bath was a jacuzzi bath which had a TV built into the wall. There were chocolate coated strawberries waiting for us and chocolate truffles. We were on the 16th floor and had a gorgeous view of Manchester, especially as the sun set. After using the bath I put a robe on and went out into the corridor to get ice. Dave had a towel on and popped out to look out the window in the hallway and the door shut behind him and got us locked out. So I had to go downstairs in this robe with my hair all wet and scraggy, to reception, next to where people all dressed up were queuing to get into the VIP bar and ask for a new key XD People were staring at this midget in an oversized robe and I didn't really give a shit, I just felt swag. Then the next day we went to the IMAX to watch Spiderman, was pretty good. Only saw it in IMAX because my little brother wanted to see and IMAX film and he would have found Prometheus too scary :P But yeah, back to reality now I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. Please don't say your actually using the default skin (the IPB one or whatever that comes with the forums). I'm pretty sure they design that to look as terrible as possible while still being plausible as a real skin to fuel the skin making industry. Also, apparently everyone who uses deflection also posts here, since I think the last time I looked at the usage for different skins, deflection was the most after tip.it at like 23 people or something. I'll have to find the numbers again. Still warm and sunny here, except yesterday which was warm and not sunny, with the occasional drizzle. Sometime during the week I am going to see about getting one of the sea-doos into the ocean. If I can find an area that meets the criteria for deep enough, no rocks, no lethal undertow, and not people to drive over, I can have some fun driving through the swells near shore. I just don't want to hit anything or drown if I get knocked off, so it might take some doing to find a spot. Most of the areas I would go are potentially fatal if you fall, or probably have rocks I don't know about, but the place I would want to drive has surfers, because apparently the criteria for some awesome wave jumping and surfing are pretty much identical. I've also never been on anything smaller than a good sized car ferry on open water before, so their might be something like agoraphobia. I don't like open water ways, but I also don't like the idea of not being able to drift to shore in pretty much any direction. Randox Posted July 8, 2012 Share Posted July 8, 2012 How many warning points warrant a ban/temp ban?There is no set threshold, though guidelines do exist. It's based on intent, frequency, similar type offences and posting patterns. Someone who makes a few honest mistakes is going to see more slack that someone who trolls for instance. We try to keep it as consistent as possible though to keep things fair (treating similar cases the same way), but there is no master formula for figuring things out. I guess the best answer would be, we start suspending people when warnings are showing to be ineffective. It's less punishment and more corrective action, except for a permanent ban which is 'you refuse to change your posting behavior and so we will no longer to allow you to be a part of our community until you convince us that you are willing to abide by the rules". If you want a number though, it's usually 3 warnings. It's a nice number of chances, and its enough points to show a pattern. Normally to get less than 3 warnings, your breaking a rule where we ban you indefinitely automatically, such as posting porn. People who get more than 3 warnings are generally in the realm of a warning maybe every year. Oh, and the warning system changed (as you can see) from the last version, but there are also backend changes. No one should find they have more than 10, no matter how much they were warned, because the old system had a cap and so we used certain values for certain things. This system doesn't have a gauge, just a counter, and I guess there is a cap on the variable but its a whole lot more than 10 now. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
