Just woke up...two more finals today <_<

So I was speaking to my school's careers advisor today. She gives some good information but she always points me to her company's website. She's helping but the promoting is pretty annoying >_>

I just finished installing the new Ubuntu release (10.04 Lucid Lynx) and I'm setting my stuff up on it as I type. Being free of Microsoft Crashware really is awesome.

 

Reading Little Brother by Cory Doctorow (anyone who's read it will get the reference above) and it's just awesome. I was thinking about buying his new book, For the Win, and now I'm quite sure I will.

Just been phoned about going to some place to play in the fiestas there from Sunday - Thursday, would mean missing a philosophy exam but I've already failed it so I figured what the heck... might aswell earn some money :thumbsup:

Now I've just got to hope there aren't any other exams that I've forgotten about.. :unsure:

First my girlfriend and I hung out for a while.

Then we had a lightsaber battle at a park with about six or seven other people to celebrate today.

 

10 year olds started harassing us, until one of us hit one of them on the back with a lightsaber.

 

All in all, a fun day.

Had school...well that's like everyday. And now I'm just foruming and deciding to post before I go back to reviewing. :P

I got to work thinking I would have something to do until 6. Then I am told we only have enough sundae cups for 5:30. No big deal, really. And then at about 4:30, we run out of "ice cream" to fill the cups with. So after a cleanup of the line (which we milked a bit to get to 5:30) I got to wash pails for almost the rest of the night. Yep, me and one other guy got to rinse off about 200 large pails using 2 hoses and a sink full of soapy water. Also, we had to do a quick cleanup of a chocolate spill using only slightly damp mops and floor squeegies/dustpans.

 

Did I mention I work until 10:45?

Im starting to feel the effects off me practicing for 2 hours a day on the euphonium. My right hand is killing right now <_< But besides that had a ok day. Had two finals and Im waiting on the grades of those as of now...

When I played, I always used to get a nasty ache in my left arm for about two weeks after a heavy practice session/concert/etc. It eventually got so bad that I switched over to trombone and I've been ache-free ever since. I think it was my bad shoulder + heavy fourth valve action on mine.

One of these. Exactly the same as the model I played. It's pretty rare to come across one with all four valves in-line in England. Bands almost exclusively use 3+1.

 

I haven't played brass in over a year though. I should probably get back into it sometime.

I'm going to a friend's party tonight, and I just remembered that I have class tomorrow at around 11AM, and an exam in 3 days. Gah, this is not going to be good. There is no way that this can turn out well.

Eh' winged it. Today I went for a nap at around 4:30, and then I woke up later. It's the scariest feeling when you wake up in the dark, terrifying, no idea where I was, why I was asleep. Strange.

Today i'm pissed, because i cannot understand how people in my country can vote for the mad folks in the opposisition.

 

It's not enough that they want to; Increase the tax on petrol with 20c € per litre - nice when you live like me 12km from town, decrease the national defence budget with 200m € (woohoo, anyone from Cyprus wanna come and invade? You'll win!), increased tax on alcohol&tobacco, increased income tax, re-instating the wealth-tax (sweet, let's see how much capital will escape the country)... And today they said that "anyone who doesn't join the unions will get an increased taxation on 15-20€" (etc etc)... Why? It's my decision not the be in a union and the socialists now want to tax me for it? Thanks!!!

 

It's not enough that we already have the highest taxes in the world, but the triad would destroy my country completely if they get the power... And i don't even want to imagine how much of nanny business the judiciary would be "awww, you raped someone? Let's rehabilitate you since we don't believe in punishment".

Something kept using my bandwidth all up, but couldn't figure out what it was so I restarted my comp. Seems to have stopped for now, can finally browse the web again.

We're one step closer to getting a dog ;D My dad has been going on for years about how he'll buy me and my siblings a dog but I feel like it might actually get one this year.

 

We're getting our back garden fenced up (because we have neighbors with an annoying dog) and if we get metal gate put into our driveway then that's a sure sign.

 

I do feel like I'm getting my hopes up though, he's been promising us a dog since the last 5 years but with the new neighbors he might just get it to be petty.

 

Gonna be another lazy day today.
