Ya'll don't know how to drive until you can drive a stick. That's real driving, yo.

I learned how to do that a few days ago :P

today I bought Halo: Reach. Then proceeded to play it for 11 hours straight.

Thanks for my country and our formerly relaxed driver licensing system!

It's great isn't it  Except raising the driving age by one year still isn't going to do anything.

It is if you've already got your licence. They gonna make the tests harder aren't they? I'm not too sure because it doesn't concern me cos I have my full

Yeah, I'm sure I've read somewhere that they are making it harder to sit the restricted test. And possibly the full as well... But I'm not sure what they could do to make the full harder though.

And I agree to the statement about driving manual as well. It's a shame my parents don't own a manual car :(

At the moment, the full drivers test is a total joke. I did it a few weeks ago myself (passed 1st go) Its a multi question but there's alot of stupid trick questions from "survey studies" about "Studies have shown 1/10 blah blah". Seriously, im here to get my drivers licence to drive a damn turbo, not do freak'n research on how many morons lost their lives by being hooning gits.

2nd half is just a repeat of the Green P Plate test (provisional 2)

So Tim, is your full licence test done in 2 parts? How many tests do you have to sit before you gain your full licence? (No restrictions?)

Here it's 3. You sit your learners, which is a theory, and with that you can only drive with an instructor between the hours of 5am-10pm. Restricted is first practical which is semi-easy, with that you can drive by yourself but only between 10-5. And then our full is harder than restricted and requires a lot more, but then you're free

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

Driving a manual isn't hard, I thought most people learnt to drive in one? I first learnt in an old Nissan Terrano, and my Mum's Corolla. The Corolla has a pretty good gearbox.

Oh and Tim, what's the deal with driving a turbo car in Aussie? I can see why they'd want to restrict that, the really should restrict more powerful cars for people with their full licence. Is it only petrol turbo cars, or do turbo diesels count as well?

I think in America they learn automatics. At least that's what I've heard and that's why it's such a big accomplishment to drive manuals :P Manuals is easy if you've learnt to drive it first, I hate clutch control though. My right foot has a mind of it's own and always goes heavy on the gas.

Anyway, I'm finally an adult. Time to start acting like one methinks :P Got work 12-4 then my girlfriend is gonna whisk me away. But damn it, I'm 20. What the actual [bleep].

Was at HP7.2 - T'was good.

You cant drive Turbo or Super Charged cars on your Learners, P1 and P2 UNLESS Its a Turbo Charged Diesel car, and you cannot drive a 8Cyl/V8 and above AT ALL Until your full licence.

Learners - 120 Hours Driving with (I think) 20 Hours done during Night/Rain + hold licence for 1yr. Driving Instructors count as 2 hours per 1 hr. (unless the government scrapped it), test is multiple choice and you can do a practice online of the actual thing. Restricted to 6Cyl/V6 (+Turbo Diesel) and 80km/h Max Speed. 0 BAC.

Provisional 1 (Red P) - Driving test in which you can only make 3 minor mistakes. hold licence for 1 year. Max Speed 90km/h. Same restriction for Car type, if Auto licence can only drive Auto. Only 1 Passenger allowed in the car between 11pm and 5am. 0 BAC.

Provisional 2 (Green P) - Touch screen test involving safety hazards. Hold licence for 2 years. Max Speed 100km/h. Same Car type restriction, Auto licence from Red P now becomes manual. can have a legal full car load of passengers anytime. 0BAC. (Used to be 0.02)

Full Licence. - Touch screen test x2, 1st a statistics test, 2nd is the same as P2. Max Speed is within the legal zones (none exceed 130 in Aus). Can drive Auto and Manual. No engine limits. BAC is 0.05.

And that's the gist of it.

I wish I could fall asleep easily.

It's because you're a teenage male, on holidays, with an internet connection.

I think you're on to something.

Oh yeah. So it's 4 years for your licence, starting at what, 16? In New Zealand if you did a driving course the youngest you could get your full was at 16 and a half haha.

Yeah no kidding. At 16 in my state you could drive alone from 5 or 6 am till 11 pm at the speed limits. I don't think there are any car restriction either.

I think in America they learn automatics.

I know in Canada, you CAN learn either one, but very few will pass their driving test in a manual, at least where I live. So yeah, most people learn in an automatic and then learn manual later, if at all. Also, Happy Birthday.

I work today. Hopefully a short shift, but 2:20-10:20 at worst. I need about 4.5 hours to get 40 on the week, so let's go for that. Also, we're making Chocolate Peanut Butter Haagen Dazs today, so I might just need a snack.

Woke up with a bit of a stomach ache from a party last night. Everyone else was still sleeping (I'm used to waking up at 6:00am every morning), so I called my sister to come pick me up. Now I'm home alone and feeling better and more comfortable now that I'm in my own room.

It's an odd feeling, I tell ya.
