After looking closely, it does look like the Dragon Platebody model by Jagex.

 

I've circled the "give away" in my eyes, hopefully you can see it too (if not, try brightening the image or turning your brightness on monitor up)

That's just concept art, it always differs from what eventually gets modeled.

This is true, but compared to the rest of the dragon armour it kinda doesn't fit into the same style (no white horns, 'gold' bits). Unless Jagex were a little over ambitious with how a d plate should look and were possibly going to tweak the graphics of all dragon armour.

 

 

 

I'm trying to open up extra speculation since I'm hooked to that at the moment :lol:

The image is saved as Clan Wars, pretty self explanatory really.

 

 

 

Why Dragon Chainbody?

 

It looks exactly like a rendered Chainbody for starters, plus it doesn't go down the arms fully (like a Platebody would) therefore, it's a Chainbody.

 

 

 

Before anyone says "look at her lower arm"... They're Black vambraces.

The dragon chain has only 1 [bleep]e on either shoulder, besides, just because the arms dont go much further than the shoulder it doesn't mean it's not a platebody, look at bandos plate for example, it looks just like that with big wristguards. Incase you didn't notice, most dragon items look different to their bronze-rune counterparts, so who are you to say that is not a dragon platebody?

To be honest it seems cartoony, as if to appeal more to the younger demographics instead of trying to assert itself as "serious". The old one looked more professional.

 

 

 

The old design which was basically letters on runestones, looked better fit for RS... Guess they grew bored with it :lol:

 

 

 

The woman looks ugly.

 

Pff.. It's a medieval game. The few female warriors that existed back then, werent some wimpy magazine-cover girls with nicely braided hair and a pink dress. That looks like a woman who could actually have mental fortitude to kill.

Just 2 seconds looking at the cache model and the woman, and it's obvious that it's the dragon plate.

I think it's quite safe to say that IS the Dragon Platebody. However, remember the picture of the Dragon Pickaxe on the Runescape main page last year? Jagex do this all the time as teasers and to get us thinking. Don't believe it certain that the Plate will be released tomorrow because there's a picture of it.

 

It would be nice to see a Dragon Plate, but still rather unlikely. :?

I think it is the plate but what would really be the use besides decromental?

 

 

 

The only real use would be to lower the cost of the dragon chain to a point that average users at lv 60 def could use. Anyone who could afford the plate I'm sure can use barrows and up.
