Jessica is the old mans daughter. the old man years ago was turned into a chicken by Ernest's quest machine and was then kept trapped by ikov and stolen by the eleves and he then escaped and to find a cure he went to ape atoll failed so he visted count dracken who turned him into a demented old man doomed to walk around the barrows forever.( while he was a chicken which was for 400 years he did not age as well)

 

see a very epic quest is on its way!

didn't the summer quests say that after the family were all killed by bandits, one servant who had been away came back and buried them? Dig, dig, dig...

 

I don't think so...he seems to have known Jennica but not been aware that she died.

 

So he couldn't have buried her.

Or maybe the sister of the Barrows Bros. It's possible, I'm not sure during what age the Barrows Bros. lived but I'm guessing 3rd age?

 

Same age as when Zamorak or Zaros controlled the wildy?

Sister? i think shes their daughter. ever notice how Jennica looks a bit...out of proportion? its because when insest occurs, the genetics of the kid gets messed up, therefore proving the point that Jennica is an experiment gone wrong, 400 years ago. Thats what probably got zaros (or whoever the god was that the barrow brothers were working for) pissed off and killed em off so "they could be stronger" or some other nonsence excuse for a cover up...

The girl you help in the quest is Summer. Jennica was not taken by the beast, she just died. You never spoke with Jennica.

The Strange Old Man is wearing a hood, as described in the story.

I don't know. I mean, he DOES live in Morytania, the place filled with ghosts, ghouls, and vampires. Plus, he could me a Mahjarrat or any other long lived race. He could even have had his life extended indefinitely through magic- this is a fantasy game. Practically nothing is far fetched.

I'm pretty sure the Mahjarrat don't look like that. Zemouregal looks very much like a skeleton to me, although it's possible they have the ability to transform.

and they seem to be something along the lines of skeletal mages

 

well in the lore of the brothers it describes the stranger as having lidless eyes

 

the end also mentions "old magic" which would point towards ancients

 

and zamorak would be the usurper the brothers were supposed to rise against if his god was zaros

 

I think if you look at it it pretty much says if the new quest is going to be zaros related that the brothers will have some part in it

 

how this relates to jennica i can't really see

 

although the brothers were farmers and it could easily be that that is where they came from

 

it may be that jennica's ring will have some effect on the brothers if they see it after their rise, perhaps swaying them from the power os the agents of Zaros

 

 

 

but who knows really

The hooded figure is definitely a follower of Zaros ('A purple light bled into the barrows').

 

Something that just struck me... The Mahjarrat are going north... What's north? The Corporeal Beast... Maybe the Zamorak followers are trying to harness its power, and the Zarosians are attempting to stop them, or vice-versa?

I hadn't even thought about it till you said it, but there are speculations about the Strange old man being Sliske. Sliske was a Mahjarrat who worked for Zaros, and it is said that he currently 'delves in the shadows', which could easily point to the endless digging of the SOM. The SOM was also the guy who sent a scroll to Reldo about the Barrow Brothers. Oh yes, it is confirmed that Sliske currently lives, and there are some more facts linking Sliske to the Barrows, but I don't have them close by. But as Sliske is a Mahjarrat, and Mahjarrat's are practically immortal, he could have easily known Jennica personally, even more because she lived in the area of the old Zarosian Empire.

 

 

 

The only thing not fitting in is why he is such a freaking nutcase... :-k Maybe the pain and agony of the death of his loved one (lover or relative... or both! :o incest, as mentioned above) made him go crazy?
