November 26, 200817 yr Within the next few years do you think you'll see more "F2P" servers being changed to "P2P" ones (basically less F2P servers) and them having a message when they try login (if you can't login) become a Member to always have access to worlds. Or do you think they'll put "time limits" on F2P accounts? (eg: 6 hours a day). [-- DYNAMIC SIGNATURES FOR RUNESCAPE 3 & OLDSCHOOL 2007 RUNESCAPE --]
November 26, 200817 yr I don't really see why they'd do this, unless they're looking to make some money. Most F2Pers are casual players, anyway, so a time limit wouldn't really hurt them.
November 26, 200817 yr Hmm..... I don't really think they will ever do this, they make plenty of money with how there running the game atm and I think they know that in general the more time people spend on f2p the more they will want to get members... Right now there not making f2p less accessable but instead making p2p more accessable, (gift cards, pay-by-other-methods etc.) and I think they will continue in this fashion...
November 26, 200817 yr Jagex is always going to have to balance luring in prospective customers with driving them away. As long as they keep releasing new content, I think they'll be able to maintain somewhere near the optimum uptake. But I guess Jagex is the business, and they know what they're doing.
November 26, 200817 yr I think if they were intending to do something of the sort they'd have done it by now. Freeplay is where Jagex "harvests" its members from, and why would they want to damage their potential money source? The ads are more than enough to pay for F2P servers' maintenance, so they'd have no reason to do it. Also I think if the F2Pers wanted to get membership they would have gotten it, instead of waiting to be given an old tomato. Pretty much what Dragon said.Thread terminated.I guess that means I'm the thread Terminator? No Tip.Iters were harmed in the making of this post.
November 26, 200817 yr Not for as long as Andrew has a say in the company. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape" Jagex 01/04/01 - 02/03/12
November 26, 200817 yr I think Jagex will never intend to make Runescape a P2P based game. For your log in error, that happen to me sometime as a P2Per too. Finally, don't worry about Jagex making Runescape a P2P base game. I am sure they won't do such an impusles move. ~Bomb
November 26, 200817 yr They need F2p so people can decide if they should pay for members. Quit. PM me if you play The Conduit to exchange friend codes.
November 26, 200817 yr This won't happen, as Jagex is a user friendly company. Although, they don't NEED f2p, look at WoW. Their 10 day free trials weren't easily accessable until they had i think it was 7 million players. I has herd, that lesser demons, MAY or may not, drop tormented demons. \:D/  :x :D :o  :? 8-) Due to a typo, I am now stuck with 1k dragon darts and no buyer. Can I has bail out from tip.it plox?
November 26, 200817 yr Why are there so many of these? were you not a free player too? let them play and have fun ffs.
November 26, 200817 yr F2p actually makes Jagex a decent amount of money. The money from the ads alone pays for all of the f2p servers and extra for the dev team. Having f2p isn't hurting us any.
November 26, 200817 yr One of the reasons Runescape is so successful is because players have a chance to try f2p risk free (no downloading, no paying) and later get caught on and go p2p. Jagex would be fools to start restricting f2p more and more until it's not worth playing. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.[/hide]Apparently a lot of people say it. I own. http://linkagg.com/ Not my site, but a simple, budding site that links often unheard-of websites that are amazing for usefulness and fun.
November 26, 200817 yr Never, most members have had F2P roots, if you pull out the roots, the plant will fall. ~It's Super Effective! (The Zaaps Blog)~My YouTube Channel, where you get to watch me go around and make a fool out of myself and all comp capersGuides:~Yeah I wrote them once~Suggestions:~Yeah I made those once~
November 26, 200817 yr The whole idea of Jagex making RS P2P only makes me laugh. It will never happen. It simply doesn't make any sense. I think you've been playing long enough to know that.
November 26, 200817 yr I highly doubt this will happen. There's enough P2P players to cover the cost of introducing new players via F2P.

There was speculation last year about F2P accounts being limited to "x hours" playing time per month on the RSOF. Speculation. No actions taken. And this was due to the problem of macroing if you remember. Similar to Jagex auto-logging your account after 6 hours of constant use, as most WC macro accounts were active 24/7, speculation was that Jagex would limit F2P play time to combat this. :)
November 26, 200817 yr Is this another flamebait...? I really cant be asked to justify my answers to your threads, so i'll give you the short version. NO For a guy who boasts about having played since RSC with several Jmod friends, you should know as well I do that Jagex won't do this. F2P was out first, and P2P was an extention to it. Not that P2P was always out, and F2P was a trial. Off Topic: You evaded the censor infront of a Jmod in your 99hp vid. Loooool you got balls man.

November 26, 200817 yr I imagine they want to keep a hold on the title of "best free play game" in the world. It provides them some good, free publicity. November 26, 200817 yr I highly doubt it. The one thing that makes runescape unique compared to other MMO's is its huge ammount of free content. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
November 27, 200817 yr The thing I like about RuneScape is that if you lose your membership for one reason or another, you can still play the game and hang out with your friends or train some skills. If it becomes P2P only, this feature would be gone and I don't think that too many people would be too happy. As some other people have pointed out, Jagex advertised that they are the largest free MMORPG in the world (even got into the Guinness Book of World Records), so they would just be contradicting themselves heavily.
November 27, 200817 yr I think the game'll die in a few years and everything will become f2p  Haahaa, I wish :
