Well i did some testing on exp per zeal for defence (same as attack and strength), and got the following EXP Values / Zeal:

Level 28 - 431 / Zeal

Level 29 - 475 / Zeal

Level 30 to 34 - 525 / Zeal

Level 35 to 42 - 1,050 / Zeal

Level 43 to 48 - 1,575 / Zeal

Level 49 to 54 - 2,100 / Zeal

Level 55 - ? - 2,625 / Zeal

So as of level 30, you gain 525 Exp / Zeal every now and then (doesn't seem like a predetermined amount of levels, since all the exp per zeal I have found here lasts for a different amount of levels.

Well there is finally my post on this minigame..

I will consider the amount of xp that you get per zeal at every different level, and if this new minigame is better than pest control or w/e.

The exp actually appears to be slightly better than Pest Control (calculations must confirm this though, none exist at the moment).

It might be 2% for attack, strength, defence, and hitpoints.

I had 84 defence and i recieved around 5775 exp per zeal. at 84 defence you need 278,259 experience to get to level 85.

5775/2 = 2887.5* 100 = 288750, which is rather close

At 85 defence, i get roughlt 6020 exp (i think, cant remember exactly), 85 defence needs around 307k exp for the next level.

6020/2 = 3010*100 = 301000 exsp, which again is very close to the 2% guess.

im not sure now, about the rest, but for melee stats it definatly seems that way

Anyone know the XP formula for the zeal points? I know its skill level based, but, anyone got numbers, maybe I could crunch them and work out a formula?

Well, here it is.. As Jagex announced earlier (behind the scenes February) this minigame will give similar xp as in PC, so...

ive done smoe thinkig and got it..

PC formula is:

att,str,def,hp: lvl²/600=x (rounded down) and x*35

mage/range: lvl²/600=x (rounded down) and x*32

prayer: lvl²/600=x (rounded down) and x*18

well, this is what Soul Wars formula is..

att,str,def,hp: lvl²/600=x (rounded down) and x*35*15

mage/range: lvl²/600=x (rounded down) and x*32*15

prayer: lvl²/600=x (rounded down) and x*18*15

slayer: lvl²/600=x (rounded down) and x*6.75*15

As you can see, they just multiplied the pestcontrol point by 15 for every zeal point. And now we can finally see how much faster/slower SW is compared to PC.

PC game is normally 2 minutes 30 seconds in which you get 4 points

SW game is 20 minutes in which you get 15*3 points if win, excluding 3 minutes waiting, that will be 45 pest points on win, 30 on draw, 15 on loss

PC in 20 minutes: 20/2,5=8 8*4=32 pest points (if all won)

SW in 20 minutes: 15*3=45 pest points (if all won)

*NB: in soul wars while fighting you get full hp and skill xp, in PC only half as you know.

Which makes SW better xp if you win all the time. Now speaking of the game it self. I did it for a while and observed different player tacktics.

Definitely needed in game:

-zeal count, i keep forgetting how much i have

-kill count, a nice addition

-priority waiting system, sometimes you get left out and have to wait, if the chance is small you can wait all 20 minutes and not get in..

-If you get disconnected you cant enter the game, i think you should be able to enter your own team =/ sometimes i got disconnected after 1 minute ...

Good point about this new minigame is that you can have unlimited amount of zeal points (for as far as i came), you could go from 1 def to 99 def in a minute so to speak, thats cool. Ive got 241 zeal yesterday and when i cashed in, i went up from 92 to 95 hitpoints, see the screenshot!! At least its not that greedy as pc is ::'

This game as a whole is a good distraction, the most ppl join pvp at the soul obelisk, but trying other tactics if fun too. Sometimes ppl go in cc's to massively rush enemy graveyard. Also the possibility to have so many people to join the game is fun! Great Job Jagex! :)

For now my post, add the xp formula to the minigame guide plz, im sure some ppl want to know it..

On the RSOF in the recent updates forum (I can't view it atm cos of firewall) Jagex say there is a limit. It was either 5k or 50k zeal.

Trust the Gene Genie!

I personally prefer Castle Wars to Soul Wars, but the rewards of Castle Wars can not compare to the rewards of Soul Wars. I have given up playing Soul Wars until it calms down, because I got really sick of just seeing the majority of my team standing around, and you can now pretty much guess which team is going to win each time.

I love the rewards, and I much prefer playing that to endlessly killing monsters to get charms.

I found a very sly tactic to help you win before the start of the game. This only works on busy, preferably noob filled worlds.

Just go in at first on any team, if your team wins, go to the other team next match and start saying 'Zezima is on *other team*', '*this team* is rubbish! I'm going to *other team*' and other things designed to lure noobs away. Then if your team wins, go to the other team and do the same, claiming that you need to get revenge and other stuff. The noobs always end up on the losing team and think that the other team will win this time so they go to that team ect ect... I've found this is the case in general but not always.

Release of Soul Wars = The day RuneScape killed the best skill in the game (Summoning).

In my opinion.

In what aspect?

The game gives no summoning xp as rewards.

The charms given as rewards are very minimal. You can get 2-3x as many on a normal slayer task for the same amount of time.

Infact, other than using summons for combat during the game, or the act of using shards on the obelisk (which gives no summoning xp), there isnt any relation to summoning at all during the game. (other than the charms)

Do you have any reasoning to back up this comment?

I love using ranged to train defense, especially with a nice 20% bonus to exp for 100 zeal

You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.

Because he's wrong on nearly everything.

When you go feather dragon god, you never go back.

well he tends to be a bit of a drama queen

since I don't want that to be my whole post, I've played this minigame and found it to be mediocre. it's a fun chance to spend 20 minutes beating the crap out of other players, and I'm glad you don't get totally cut out if your team loses, but it doesn't really have any depth beyond straight up fighting

He's right quite a bit, but he does seem to over emphasise stuff (as said above), and sometimes make totally sublime random outbursts, like in this thread.

Dont search for attention by posting such stupid statements.

The only thing that charms can be obtained without combat. However, that was also possible with the dorgeshkaan chests and the rate of charms is nothing compared to waterfiends, rock lobsters, or even slayer.

Plus you still need the shards, the tertiary ingredients and the pouches and then turn them into the relevant familiars. It's not like it gives direct summoning exp in the same rate at hitpoints.

Don't take my line. Summoning is an extremely boring money sink, a very bad, boring skill. I wouldn't train it if I were paid to. Based common sense, the rewards look low. If you could only collect charms that fast, no one would be at Kalphites whining at me for cannoning.

It's always great to get their reaction when I tell them I am leaving every charm on the ground.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

The day you realise how important summoning is and how many charms you have wasted will be an interesting one indeed.
