Sure, it's stats aren't as good as the fury, but players were paying 10m with junk for one and it IS the best range attack in the game, I expected it to go much higher before crashing. I disagree with everyone who called me a fool for waiting, the crash came a lot earlier than expected and there was no way I could see it coming so quickly.

 

Well, if you didn't see the crash coming so early, then you have misjudged its stats and rareness.

 

 

 

1) It might be 5 more ranged bonus than fury or glory, the complete lack of defense, strength and prayer stats nullifies the its benefits. I would take a fury over the ammy nearly anytime.

 

2) The same accounts for 3a ammy, you will say. Well, that ammy is incredibly rare and it's price tag is only because of that (and a perhaps because mages tend to safespot). All other 3a is worse than barrows too statwise and still it's so expensive. This ammy gets dropped by a monster that is given as a slayer task and quite easily to beat. Considering the drop rate, the expected price would be 500k or so.

Over 1m is "beyond resonabillity." It really isn't all that great of an item, and in addition, requires a fairly low slayer level to get. Not to mention the drop rate is fairly high. I won't be paying more than 300k for one. And if for some reason they don't drop to 300k, then I won't be buying one. They simply aren't worth it.

I think everyone agrees the ranging amulet was doomed to crash, so more discussion here.

Same happened with whip as well. The amulet isn't really worth the money it was bought/selling for, bonuses aren't that impressive.

I wouldn't call the amulet completely useless. Infact, it has many uses.

 

 

 

Safespotting range, bolting metal dragons, and any ranging task that doesn't require defense. In all those cases the amulet of ranging would be better (and cheaper) than a fury. Once the amulet goes down a bit I'm going to buy one for irons.

I just got on my first Aqua task; 161 of them and I got it on the last one :shock:

 

Hopefully I can sell it before it falls even more; I can't even sell it at lowest right now.

I'd say it is worth around 800k-1.2m. Great for places where you don't need defense or prayer, such as irons or safespotting just about anything. However, it will crash, then rise, then crash, then rise, then stabilize. This happens all the time, however, the more valuable the item GP wise, the more it fluctuates normally.

Is it going 100% junk now? I might buy one with my excess junk. :lol:

OMG an item crashed in price! 0_o This has never happened before, ever! It defiantly deserves its own thread! I mean it's an item crashing for guthix sake!

I am 78+ slayer, and Aquanites beat the hell out of me to the point where it wasn't worth trying to kill them...

 

 

 

Missed out on some cash there...oh well. Ill wait for the next item to do the exact same thing...

It's the best range attack amulet in the game - it's sure to stabalise at at least 1.5mil.

 

There are times when it is more useful than a fury, which is why people will buy it.

I'm not complaining. Made an easy 5M off two ranging amulets from aquanites. I just got lucky and got them before the crash. Now that they're crashing the price will go to what it should be, and then aquanites will just be another slayer task with a semi-decent rare drop.

 

 

 

When the amulets go down past 500k I might consider buying one for when I train up ranged to 99. Other than that, I won't bother.

I don't see how this is a surprise, we all said on these forums (I know I did) that they would be no more than 400K each when they went stable.

Interestingly, it didn't lose any value on the G.E. today...

I got 4 Ammy drops, sold the first one with junk for 6m, sold the second to a friend for the 1.9m trade price because I feared an imminent crash, kept the third one, and sold the fourth one on GE for min of about 2.7m.

But yeah, this was to be expected, nobody was actually buying the item to use it, only to sell to other merchers. The smart people will buy it for use after the crash is over.

 

 

 

It really isn't terrific in my opinion, I probably won't buy one, I would have preferred a ranging equivalent of the black mask.

Well considering that there were people spawn camping every single aquanite and they aren't very good this is not a huge surprise.

LOL at all the people hating the amulet because it's not giving them that specific boost that they want. It's still quite useful when safespotting, like countless other people have said.

The question for those who were waiting to sell wasn't what it would crash to, but WHEN it would crash. The drop came totally unexpectedly. It was continuing to go up with not even the slightest slowing down in increase, and suddenly overnight just tumbled. I'm not even sure how that could have happened that every seller unanimously agreed to dump them at min rather than continuing the rise, unless a sole person with a lot of slayed ammies decided to dump and accidently (or intentionally) screwed the whole economy on the ammy. Everyone knew a crash was immenant, but no one knew when. I kept it expecting to see at least a slight slowness that I could take advantage of before the crash, but I guess everyone did the same and freaked out all at once.
