January 13, 201016 yr bossfight seems like a very challenging (but fun) fight to me  do you guy's thinck that I could possibly stand a chance against him? :ohnoes: i have:78 atk76 def93 str87 hp82 range71 prayer i'm also kinda poor so no kick [wagon] equipment (like vesta's, statius or zammy spear) for me  just a check, should i first train some more or could i already complete this quest?thancks in advance  You'd be OK i reckon. I have 80 range and 84 hp and those are the only stats i really used to kill him - not sure how much prayer makes a difference really. 13 Super restores, then fill the rest up with brews, plus BoB full with brews. Just keep whacking him with ruby (e)s - be careful when hes about to hit 81 on you though because if your rubys spec on him then he might get a KO - well worth an extra sip of brew to allow for that. Try and dodge his 75 attacks (they come after the mines) by running out the mines through the gap and hiding behind either of the southern-most pillars. Just have fun, you'll get it before long I'm sure!
January 13, 201016 yr Not all quests have to have a storyline. I personally hate any quest that has mind numbing, boring dialog that tries to tell a story, and I know a few people that hate it just like me. Jagex did the right thing by actually making a quest with no storyline. I would rather more quests be like this. Just tell me what to do and what to kill and I will be happy to go do it. I would much rather a quest take place in a humongous dungeon with thousands of monsters and numerous bosses with no kiddy humor and stupid dialog, than the current quests we have now. The majority of every single quest we have at this moment are based around fetching 10 items for said NPC then teleporting 10 times to talk to the 10 other said NPC's, then running to the bank to gear up for a dungeon. You walk from a desired teleport location for about 20 minutes because all quest dungeons are miles from any known teleport. From the dungeon you teleport back to go bank because it turns out you need a hatchet. You get the hatchet and travel another 20 minutes to the dungeon again, only to find out what the NPC wanted is no longer here, so you have to teleport a few times. After banking a few more times, then rebanking, and leveling magic from teleporting so much, you then complete the quest in a record breaking 3 hours. Yes that is right, 3 hours of teleporting, walking, running and talking, however because the talking is all based around little kiddies playing this game, it would be more safe to call it 'Goo Goo Ga Ga'.
January 13, 201016 yr The existence of the stupid quest cape should have absolutely NO influence on quest design. If it does, it should be removed. I'm fed up with whiners who think their precious cape is some sort of an entitlement. If you want the cape, EARN IT.R'amen.
January 13, 201016 yr Oh, goddamnit! Right when i got a perfect plan to get my quest cape back, this quest comes in  . How am I gonna get 60 prayer to 70 prayer with about 1,5m!?Well, i managed to get wgs reqs. I can do this too. I just need money... ...free stuff plz? "An Amateur practices until he can get it right. A Professional practices until he can't get it wrong." Quests just keep bringing me back to this game.
January 13, 201016 yr [hide=Spoiler, boss method]What most people seem to be doing to win is they hide behind a pillar for a second before the 75 damage attack is released, which causes it to not be fired. After hiding you have to shoot it again, especially quickly if he says "face me".If you need to get out of there and can't tell how cause of mines, there's an open space directly behind you.[/hide] Started free trade with 1.5m cash. 2 weeks later, have hit max cash 2x. PvP drops: 359 Brawling Gloves, 11 Vesta's Longswords, 41+ Zaros/Ancient Statues9 Dragon Full Helms, 3 Dragonfire Shields on the old PvP loot system Brawler guide is being finished!

January 13, 201016 yr You want strong bosses? Fine. Just keep them out of quests. Give them drops, make them team stuff, whatever. I like to quest for stories, not stuff like an Imp telling me I gotta defeat him. Anyone else have an issue with that plothole? Does anything else thinks it's dumb the reasons for us fighting him? Just a vague idea of good and evil and an Imp telling us to? *Spoilers for recent quest updates* Wait. What? Plothole? Blood Runs Deep was one giant plot-hole. Nomad's Requiem isn't even close to being broken. The Nomad's paranoid. He's proud. He's strong. The entire quest is about you trying to find out what he's up to, because of either your curiosity, or the imp's, and accidentally provoking the Nomad into fighting you. In fact, your character specifically says "I think I'll go now..." at the end of the conversation, and the Nomad chooses to attack you. Now let's see. Blood Runs Deep forces you to slowly escort a broken king from waterbirth. The prequel quest clearly shows Vargas in danger of becoming a Yeti's chew-toy, and being rescued by a spell, one that Baba Yaga points out post-quest, is in your repertoire. So, instead of smartly employing a tele-other or tele-group sell, you *walk* with the King out? No explanation given. NPCs are obviously familiar with teleport magic. They can obviously *be* teleported. They've gone as far as to give the player teleport tabs. And all of a sudden, it's as if they don't exist anymore? Fine. You go after the Dagannoth Mother. Fine. They send help... wait, why? I (my character) can take on the three Dagannoth Kings blindfolded with my arm tied behind my back. Three. I need help against one Dagannoth Mother, when I'm fully decked out and ready for the worst? The Dagannoth Kings are coming. Okay. Baba Yaga, who you can hardly call trustworthy after Glorious Memories, and her "unique" way of sending you back to Waterbirth (liberating one of your important possessions), Koschei the Deathless, who I took out barehanded 40 combat levels ago, Princess Astrid who was proud to receive a NON-MAGIC ordinary bow, and Prince Brand who really doesn't seem too much more competent are going to try to stop the Kings? Really? Nomad's Requiem isn't nearly as plot-hole ridden as Blood Runs Deep. It doesn't have any major plot-holes at all, as far as I can tell. Unless you count the fact that you can't use the Ring of Charos to charm the Nomad into calming down, but as I recall, the Ring of Charos isn't all-powerful. Want to learn to Nex? I took 1 sip of a super set and ate a rocktail at the bank. Went down, prayed piety, and used up by dds specs. Then I switched to whip, and hammered away. During the fight, I ate the rocktail first to conserve my boosted melee stats, and withdrew as needed from my tortoise. Prayer potion ran out at about the same time my rocktails did. As soon as he started charging for this 2nd attack, I ran south of of minefield then due east to behind a pillar. No need to hide before then. During freezing attack, I switched to rune cbow and eagle eye prayer, and used dds specs whenever the spec bar got above 50%. When he went in beserker mode, I also switched on protect melee prayer. Other than that, it's mainly sipping pots when you need it; most of the time I kept my hp above 32. Void works because the 15% to accuracy and damage really helps, and its magic defense isn't too shabby. I tested void range before my successful fight, and it works well too. Good luck to you all.
January 13, 201016 yr I heard void doesn't appear under the grave if you die during the fight, is this true? I guess I should ask, are any items lost besides deteriorating items and barrows etc?
January 13, 201016 yr I heard void doesn't appear under the grave if you die during the fight, is this true? I guess I should ask, are any items lost besides deteriorating items and barrows etc?Void appears under your grave. You also lose anything that has a "destroy" option on it. This means accumulator, lumby ring, and torso, among others.
January 13, 201016 yr Wanna challenge? Try to find someone showing you how to do this on youtube, *not* using Soul Split, Pack Yaks, Steel Titans, and/or Extreme Pots. -edit- I've also yet to see anyone use the pillar hide on yotube. They just tank that shiz. Did you miss my post? I did it with 70 Herblore, 80 Prayer and 88 Summoning and used Rocktails and had 1 left over. Also used Whip/Defender and DDS.

All of the people complaining about the lack of plot are either illiterate or trolling. Saying that the entire quest was an imp telling you to kill a bad guy is daft and shows that you are not paying attention during quests. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

I've died with it 5 times already lolIf you die it's just like any other time you would die, you lose all items but three of them. I think that's what you're asking with the second question idk.
January 13, 201016 yr I finally beat it about an hour ago. Running behind the pillars during the 75 hitting charge was the difference that allowed me to beat him. Died 10 times. Spent 4-5m on supplies. Last.Fm My Bloggy Proud to have served on Tip.it Crew

January 13, 201016 yr I don't know what all the fuss is about, I killed him without touching any of the 30 brews my yak was holding. Yes, overloads and soul split helps but it doesn't make that much difference. Jagex really can't win with you people. For years they have released almost nothing but low to mid level content and everyone complained. However in the last few months we have had genuine high level content (e.g. Ardy Elite Diary, Extreme Pots, and now this quest) and everyone complains that it's too difficult. Capone Sabre since April 2001.99 Attack, Defence, Strength and Hitpoints Achieved January 2005. When it still meant something.
January 13, 201016 yr How does this quest NOT have a plot? It was obviously a start into a new quest series that'll branch off into the Mahjarrat series. Just because there's not as much content as WGS doesn't mean there's no plot. WGS seems far superior (well, it was) because it was a huge climax to the main story line in Runescape. I thought it was pretty obvious that Nomad's Requiem was, in a sense, a big bang to start off a new plot. It introduced a ton of new questions that will eventually lead into newer, more developed quests. How is that not good enough for a quest? Edited January 13, 201016 yr by 1230abcz
January 13, 201016 yr Technically, the classification (novice...master, grandmaster) is purely about the requirements to do the quest and the levels of the monsters in the quest. It has nothing to do with length of the quest, real life skill requirements (e.g. puzzles), storyline etc. The people who are complaining about the classification have simply misunderstood what the experience classification means. It is simply a character experience classification and nothing more. Also, the classification of a quest can never be lower than the classification of a required quest. For example, an "experienced" quest cannot require a "master" one. That's why, for example, Catapult Construction is "master". It requires Regicide, which is "master".
January 13, 201016 yr For people wanting to know how to dodge the 75 damage attack: He always does this shortly after dropping the bombs onto the ground. Once the bombs drop to the ground, stand on his east or west side...this is key to identifying when he is about to start the attack.Right before he prepares for this attack, he turns south and stands still. This is your cue to run behind a pillar.Be careful of the bombs, seeing as they deal 40 damage when stepped on. You may run diagonally between them without sustaining damage. By doing this and recognizing his turn south, I was able to dodge every one of these attacks with 2-3 seconds to spare. Are you winning The Game?
January 13, 201016 yr Okay, so there's a plot for the whole like 10 minutes you spend actually interacting with Nomad. Up until that point? Oh, Nomad's doing something, let's find out by destroying these guarded machines by solving random puzzles and fighting a monster with lots of HP. What we're saying when we say there was no plot to this quest is that there wasn't much for motivating factors through the entire quest, and you only find out anything's going on at the very end of the quest when Nomad very directly tells you. A better plot would have revealed what Nomad had to say gradually as you worked your way toward him through realizations after solving a puzzle related to it. Or there could at least have been alterior (false) means to motivate you where you find out you've been wrong all along when you reach Nomad. Plot should have structure, be built up gradually, not just spewed out all at once with no buildup whatsoever.
