ovorette
But but but but but but why...? We all like a little extra experience, but what the hell is this? Weekends are already crowded enough on the weekend, do they want extra people to log on? I want to know why they're doing this. Maybe I'm looking a gifthorse in the mouth, but this is completely out of left field. Maybe giving something for people to become members for? Something for people to look forward to, and be "exciting", and different? There aren't many things on r.s to look forward to that you know are definitely happening (obviously things like monsters drops, but they are not certain.) Also allows people to train their most hated skills, thus being less bored. All in all to increase money obviously. Bingo! I agree. I bet memberships have fallen off a bit since school began for the semester. And I will be training agility because I hate running around in circles for hours on end. At least this will cut that time down a bit while I get a few needed levels. I think it is a nice idea.
Mio
I dont want to do anything like material gathering that weekend, Imagen the amount of people doing that.. Prices are going to rise for herblore and such... :ohnoes: Hmm.. 91soldin91
Mmm its a good update an all but would of preferred it during free trade. Its going to be a huge annoyance buying anything for regular activity. They seem a little nieve on the effect it will have but its still worth while to do. I dont think its worth while doing herblore unless you already had the supplies. Its going to probably cost more once you get any of the supplies. Probably stick to the slow skills that dont matter if other people are training it No particular reason why anything will go cheaper than current prices afterwards. People will continue to train normally. Just more so during those hours. So I guess its depending on the nature of the skill. Some things will drop but others ganna just be more expensive. Be lots of fish and runes coming in but loads of herbs going out. Not enough to cover whats coming in even with slayer or even farming.. Need to remember to cash in my kingdom. Nearly 1 and half years worth haha. I didnt for the pot update as I wasnt around but this is even better. I think I will runecraft for the fun factor. Must be loads of others at the same time. Need to practice as I havnt trained that in years. Dont even need much ess since its only 10 hours... Sorta off topic but you should post a pic of your kingdom loot if you let it go for as long as you say you did.

And these skills that are expensive and boring, if they want to change that need a rebalance, not a free experience weekend. This website and its contents are copyright © 1999 - 2010 Jagex Ltd. A significant number of solo merchants got to the goods long before the manipulation clans started upin this case price rises are NOT the fault of manipulation clans, but the result of a NATURAL rise
Orc
I am in your debt sir, thank you! I wasn't far off using the old noggin either  *Goes off to see how many potions i need to make for 99 herblore" Edit: I believe you can make around 1600 potions per hour from unfinished, so 16k potions in the first 10 hours. I'l be doing brews as i'm not too clued up on the newer ones and i can sell these on again afterwards. So 1.69 * 180xp = 304.216k * 304.2 = 4867200Add my current xp = around 7.4m13m-7.4m = 5.6mxp left.1.1 * 180 = 198.5,600,000 / 198 = around 29k (rounded up to give a bit of leverage on the above calcs)So 45k saradomin brews to get me to 99 herb hopefully. Not bad considering that would normally be 8.1m xp, and on this weekend if my calculations are corrent will yield around 10.5m, an extra 2.4m herb xp for free. I hate the idea of extra xp weekends, but hell i masewell make use of it :thumbsup:the number you are looking for is 3000 unf potions -> potions @ absolute maximum speed without rapidly making different types of potions within your inventory simultaneously2200 unf potions -> potions per hour is more reasonable Thanks for the heads up, i did a quick search for topics on here and saw someone say 3000, (probably you :P ) but then did another quick search on the net and another fansite said 1200, so i did 14 potions myself (hardly an extensive test i know) and it took 25 seconds to get back to having 14 unfinished 2nds in my inv which is around 2000 per hour. So i came to the conclusion that 1600 is easily attainable with my endless misclicks :P Tbh it's not a definite yet either way, I managed to buy 15k toadflax + nests so far, i'l need to sell my 4 santas to buy the rest, and even then i might not get them max g.e with their new "street price". Might end up trading santas straight for ingredients, good thing i'm not too fussed about them tbh, skills > rares.
Robert_R
Well if I did my calculations right this means I can use the 1.2k unf wergali I have and make 2k Avantoe + mort myre fungus -> super energy -> special restore pots and get 88 herb very cheaply. Only problem with that is everything is bought out..... Well gf me lol I like it besides the fact that it sorta messed up the ge.

Maximusa
Sorta off topic but you should post a pic of your kingdom loot if you let it go for as long as you say you did. Ah I will somewhere. I have previously done a year picture. (Being the biggest.) I was going to do two years but I usually cash in if an update gives me motive to do so. There usually always an update that involves collecting the kingdom. Infact if I remember correctly one of them was for an achievement diary or something. >.< edit: I just looked it up. Not a year and a half unfortunately. I thought I did it in novemberish but apparently collected on new year last year. Over a year though =p I just write down the date in notepad each time and forget about collecting them. Den
This is not a nice move. This is not some oversight in an update, this is not some correction to an update that people will complain about. This is a methodical, planned update that they have given the go ahead for. This is now, without any argument against it, a systematic shift of their game from what it was to what they want it to be. I'm just not sure what they want it be yet, but to be honest, it concerns me. If you like where all this is heading, it's great. If you don't, it's kind of scary. I myself am in the latter. For once, I agree with libs. :ohnoes: This is bs. The ge is allready messed up. I was getting loads of oak planks at med, now its impossible to get them at max. Im just glad I got 99 construction. Its going to be a bumpy ride. I hope Jagex are happy. >.< This is a good idea in theory, as said before, but once its announced this is going to kill any buyable skills in the ge for weeks.I bet loads of slayer areas will be crowded to the brim during this time, atleast the beginning. I just dont see any good side to this. ........::::: Rainy's YouTube Channel - Rainy's Twitter - Rainy's Facebook - Rainy's DeviantArt - Rainy's Tumblr - Rainy's Tip.It Profile :::::......... The only problem I have is, it has ruined GE prices for weeks; as if prices weren't all ready inflated. <_< It will screw up the economy for a very brief time. The prices of herbs, summon secondaries, d-leather, bars will explode leading to the weekend. Then will crash HARD after the weekend. But I bet this crash will only last a week. I doubt many new ressources (as in, as compared to the usual amount) will enter the game, just used up all the same time rather than spread over. Kalafai
Alright, time to redivide my bank. Treeplot teleports already sitting in my enventory from planting the best trees I get in my MtK til then. A tab for summoning, secondaries, pouches, and supplies for watchtower teleport madness. A tab for unfinished potions, secondaries, and potions. An Ourania telecraft setup all ready. And hit the agility course after 4 hours of all that. I don't them crashing drastically, if anything they will slowly continue rising afterwards as people will use their new skills and want to level it that *little* bit extra to get to the nearest big milestone, or even up to the next level. Shelby_Polo
What will be interesting is to see how the total inflation of items like finished potions, chins, runes, ores/bars/armor, fish cook/raw after March 12th will affect prices. For example think of how many people will be making potions, then selling them after they're done. The GE will be packed with such materials and the price will fall. Could this possibly be a plan to lower prices? Suggest a poll for Tip.it - Here! ilovecuttingyews
Chart taken from Runewiki. It's their version of the stock exchange index. It started at an arbitrary 100 when the GE came out (at least I think it was that soon). I'll post the chart again in 3 weeks and we'll see where we're at. The chart takes things like logs, ores, bars, fish etc. into account. It doesn't do herbs or planks or others like that. Mod MMG: Congrats guys, we finally slowed hyperinflation with our 76king nerf!Mod Fnord: Hey, why don't we do something else to mess around with the economy?
