12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!

Featured Replies

I have to admit, I like this skill. Although it's not technically a skill, I count it as a bonus. By training all the other skills, raising them up etc., you can progress your Dungeoneering Skill aswell and get pretty hot rewards for it.

Just hit lvl 30 :D ranked 105th

I like this skill, it is like a minigame yes, but it has way more variation then for example mining.

That's a good thing :D

how many tokens do you have?

just wondering how much more you get by then

When you complete a dungeon raid, you will receive Dungeoneering skill XP and a number of tokens equal to 1/10 of the Dungeoneering XP you received, rounded down

So level 30 = 14k exp so I'm assuming he'll have 1.4k tokens (although rounding may bring this down a bit).

And while people may think this is trolling, could Dungeoneering have a stupider name? I mean seriously. It seems like they came up with this name because no one would think of anything so dumb and then Jagex could honestly say no one correctly guessed the name. I mean, why not go with something like Fickle Farting Farfennugens then? Gets the same job done.

Its only trolling because you've posted the same thing 30 times in a row.

And dungeoneering because no one would come up with that name - anyone could come up with "raiding", "instancing", etc.

Oh, and this miniskill is pretty much "dungeon assualt" for runescape, except its game-generated and not player-generated.

Nuh-uh. I said the same thing 29 times then said the name is dumb 1 time, so :P

Also that name is so stupid that by comparison DenUsynlige is somewhat discernable. ;)

Well I've gotten level four...this has to be the most annoying skill I've ever trained. There is no way in hell I will ever be able to train this skill to 99 let alone 120

After floor 10 the theme changes to something abandoned instead of frozen, and so far the bosses are:

-Some kind of armoured behemoth, you need to destroy its armour first with a pickaxe

-A goblin mage, can bind you and teleport itself

-A bigger mage, didn't notice anything special because he is killed so fast (Dung lvl 30+ I believe)

-A room with some sort of floating human that will heal you if you get on the grey tiles near it, and you need to kill the skeletons coming from the holes in the wall. If the floating thing says so, you need to close the holes.

My best xp gain so far was 2k xp in one dungeon.

Loot is a joke in f2p, once you get your hands on a tier 5 spear/2h, you don't get stronger items to bind.

I always used a team (it is more fun :))

I won't spoil the puzzles, it is fun to find out :D

I think it's quite fun, wouldn't play it for more than an hour or two though, I don't think it should've been a skill as it can only be trained in one place.

Some more tips: DO ALL ROOMS! The bonus room xp is really worth it! up to 13% extra!

Get a good melee item to bind, good runes and arrows are hard to come by on complexity 6

Unable to turn the pages in the new books for some reason.

Having fun soloing, but I can't really tribrid everything, so gonna have to drag my low level friends around just to hold my stuff.

Looks like magic is the surest bet for being prepared, gonna get those last couple runecrafting levels to guarantee me some death runes, and bind the best staff I can get my hands on.

Yay crafting mage robes!

Figured out how to solve the crystal with the loadstones, don't really know what's up with that still.

Seems difficult going through that summoning list, finding what usefull I can make.

Sweet move with the gatestone, making for the diablo town portal.

15% + 15% + 15% for slayer mage? Yes please!

So amazing... OMG... Lol.

Well, I saw some of the rewards, and I cried... Chaotic Rapier --> Corp = Boned Sideways. Repair cost, assuming you acquire a lot of tokens by the time you hit level 80, is 200k for 10 hours, which is literally as cheap as barrows, and it pwns balls.

The shields are also domination for many select monsters. Range Shield + Chaotic Rapier = even more boned sideways Corp.

I'm liking the layout of the dungeon, too. Sure, it might seem like a minigame, but it's definitely more of a skill than it is a minigame. Don't know why people are complaining first day (I'm assuming all the haters have played this game extensively and know how intricate it might be?), considering the rewards are awesome, the dungeon is [bleep]ing huge, and it incorporates a ton of useless skills (except firemaking... wtf -.-). There are so many levels and areas to this place, there's no way I'd compare this to any kind of minigame.

Also, did anyone notice this is basically a huge [wagon] update to mage, as well? The amulet, the new staffs, and the shield that reduces melee damage.

Very nice update overall.

And you only have to get 8,000,000 XP to get it. That's assuming you don't use your tokens for anything else.

Firemaking is in the dungeon, burning down doors and lighting fires to cook fish ;)

Not that you need to cook fish, you get enough from monster drops...

You mean the usual, EXTREMELY useful stuff firemaking does already? -.-

I actually like this skill. My goal is only to get level 30 in this skill though and currently I'm at level 7.

I wish the drops gathered during the game such as coins remained with your char outside of the dungeon.

Even pest control is more lucrative than this skill atm!

Or at least continues on the next level of the dungeon picking stuff up like food every dungeon round is too boring.

Actually starting it is confusing. It should be more clear.

Also why is there a 2 minute cooldown after the final boss fight? There's an option to end dungeon but it doesn't seem to speed things up.

There's small glitches like the trader sells hammers but not chisels.

I thought that I might as well post this:

dungrank1again.png

I was playing with Igneo if you don't get it, he also managed to temporally get the first place in overall ranking thanks to this.

This is the first and probably last time that I get ranked one in any skill on RuneScape.

I can also say that the 'Stomp' boss should be changed. Either we missed how to kill it easily or it's to irritating. You may have to wait a long time for the shards to appear, and when they do it is not certain that you may get them, or travel to where you need to use them.

btw, I changed my displayname to Bier some time ago, it's German for beer.

EDIT: We did this on a free server; I'm unsure whether or not this was to our advantage.

Then you also must know how quickly EXP can be gained once you hit level 80... Elaborate.
